  • This is the type of contract you will sign when you sign up with an international agency such as the one I choose. The contract was for two years. This is an in-depth look on what’s expected of you during that time and your obligations and also what the agency agrees to do for you. Pay rate, time off and what happens if you breach the contract are all explained.

    Thanks you so much Omega for this indepth information. You are so genuine and I can see the willingness to help other in you. I have been watching different you tubers on the USRN journey but none talked about the contract terms and the way you answer questions is exceptinal. Thank you. I am a Registered nurse in Nigeria with BNSC and more than ten year experience, I work in an acute care setting but the bed is not up to 80 as some of the agencies require, it is a setting where u attend to anyone that show up at the door, so I have vast experience. What do you suggest I do or do you know any agency that require less bed capacity. Thank you

      Congrats. What state are you going? I was hesitant when I started my journey. But I met a nurse from the Philippines in 2006 who migrated with Ogrady and I figured if they’ve been in Business that long they must be doing something right. Every employer has their annoying things that us as employee don’t like. But they got the result I wanted. A good job, a good location, decent pay and most importantly the green cards for me and my family. This granted me the platform I needed to do whatever I wanted and have given me endless opportunities. Good luck in your process.

It is dishonest if they help with NCLEX study programme and immigration paperwork and then you break contract. Always try to work out what’s wrong if unable then part ways amicably. nice video what is the tax rate in US

    • @omeganicholsonrn
      @omeganicholsonrn  3 года назад

      Taxes vary and it depends on your income and if your are single or married. See below:
      Single 10% on earning of 14200, 12% on income of 14200-54200 and 22%on income 54201 -86350,and 24% on income 86351-164900.

    • @omeganicholsonrn
      @omeganicholsonrn  3 года назад

      And different states have different tax laws. Some states don’t have a state tax. Where as other you pay both a state and federal tax.

    • @omeganicholsonrn
      @omeganicholsonrn  3 года назад +2

      At the end of the tax year you file your taxes and if you’ve payed too much you get a tax return of the extra you’ve payed . If you’ve payed too little you get a bill. When you sign your tax form at the start of your employment you decide if your are gonna pay more based on your circumstances and then because your know you’ve overpayed you definitely get something back. If you are married you pay less tax or you can opt to not put your family on the tax return and claim them on your tax return that will ensure a bigger return. It’s something can tinker with throughout the tax year. The aim is to try and not owe the inland revenue.

      Thanks for watching. Sorry for being so late. Compared to the UK the cost of living is low. You will get payed more and food is cheaper. Of course it will matter if you move to an expensive state like California or New York. But your pay will reflect your state. I moved with children and moving from London, I found everything so cheap. When I do overtime here I keep most of it . The tax return at the end of the tax year is so worth it too. Everyone has their opinion but for me personally I can save more and invest more. I can afford thing a lot easier. I’ve been here only four years and by year 3 I’ve bought a beautiful house. Don’t get me wrong it takes discipline to save and not shop all the time. Here we get payed twice a month ! I love that. I can budget . If I need extra I work extra which is payed at a different rate than your regular pay.over all pay and quality of life for me and my children have improved here in Virginia.

    Why did you move from the uk is it because the us is better for nurses?

    • @omeganicholsonrn
      @omeganicholsonrn  3 года назад +12

      I moved because I became disheartened with the rubbish pay and the hard work. Yes yes yes the US is much better for nurses. I wished I had moved long ago. I’d be retiring already.

      I also moved cause I believe affordability for housing and opportunities for my children are better. I was correct! I’ve been here only 2.5 years and already I’ve qualified for a mortgage for 450,000 and my eldest child after being in high school for 2 years will graduate with honours . Got accepted to 6 university and have accepted an offer at a local university here in Virginia where she will be going on a full scholarship. She’s not even that bright!!

      Than you. I’m glad I was of some help to you. Any questions I’m here to answer as honestly as I can. That is why I started this channel to help other Nurses who want to try an alternative but are hesitant. In 2016 when I decided to apply . I had so many questions but no RUclips or any person I know was able to provide the information I needed to help me make my decision All the fears I had no one could alleviate them. I decided that I would be honest with anyone who was interested and help them understand the process.
