@@catjesus4319 comfy yes, the stop/ start could be turned off through the infotainment screen. The button is there. Turbo lag i didnt feel much, but the engine did sound like a hand vacuum but it was bearable and still good price and options wise overall.
You can also get the Volvo V60/S60 if you like this and want a more 'compact' Volvo. The V90 is gigantic, perfect if you need to haul lots of stuff though.
Get one, or a V60! I work at a Volvo dealership and absolutely love these cars. They’re super nice and beautiful and drive super smooth and the T5 and T6 models feel pretty zippy.

@@TheTopher They definitely both sound incredible even through the RUclips upload process. Of course my left driver in my headset went out yesterday so I didn't get a good enough comparison. Being partial to Acura I think I'm getting more and more sold on the TLX every day.
So I went ahead and tested both the ELS and the Bowers & Wilkins at their respective dealerships and drove the TLX (aspec) and S90 and I've gotta say I love the TLX as a vehicle and will be buying the Type S when it comes out thanks to this channel.
My 2019 120k range rover does it too. Really annoying. Digital gauges clusters need to go. My last 2012 range rover sport had a physical one, and it felt so much more upscale.

I have a Volvo V90 T6 Cross Country. I like it VERY much, but one problem is that that suspension is bit too stiff on small bumps. And the car will swing pretty much sideways if you drive in bigger bumps. And when i test drived it, it was a T5. But T6 has a sports chassi, wich i had no idea about. And the dealer who sold the car didn't say anything about a sports chassi. And that is causing the problem with the smaller bumps. The acceleration is very exellent to 0-50/kmh. After that it quites bit down. But very good car i must say.
Have you felt that the side mirrors create a bit of a blind spot? To me it looks like they do or is it just the position of the camera.. Anyway, excellent review!
@@somefuckstolemynick I wasn't talking about rear blind spot, but rather about the front one. When you drive in the city, that huge mirror can cover up the pedestrian or a kid. Safety equipment in this car is, I think, optional so if you don't have those safety equipment, you can mask the pedestrian and hit him

I love Volvos, but Subaru is pretty capable too. Have always wondered if this would make a better overlanding rig than the Subie. Have not been able to find any videos of a new overlanding Volvo rig (current version). Is the AWD system better? The transmission must be better than the CVT. Just putting it out there. Anyone?
Not sure if the AWD is ‘better’, but I have heard it’s pretty great. Build for Swedish winter countryside after all. Swedish police force use them as well.

But the styling on it really, really, really gets under your skin and I'm still eyeballing them. Used, they are very attractive. That said, if they would drop the aggressive nanny nonsense and make it drive properly for the class it competes in, I'd even consider buying one new.

Honestly dude what other manufacturer is using only one engine across their product range???? There's only Volvo. And arguably it's not a great strategy. This from a guy who just purchased a 2022 V90 CC. Had I had another $25k I would have gone with the Merc.
Such a great wagon. Sadly it's too expensive, terrible depreciation hit, and has a subpar warranty. This is certainly a vehicle to lease as I would never want to own it outside of warranty coverage.

Does Lexus offer the same roadside assistance protection (flat tire, accident 911 response, etc.) as Volvo on-call? Lastly, I know Lexus can't even offer OTA software updates since their infotainment systems are vintage 2014. All luxury cars (even your beloved Lexus) are at expensive price points for the average consumer yet Volvo offers standard vehicle safety and driver assistance tech across all trim levels that other European brands only offer a la carte or in expensive option packages that may include other less desirable features.

Ironically, I just downloaded another free OTA navi/infotainment update which keeps my 4 year old car's system current with most new Volvo's. I notice you didn't rebut my other points regarding Volvo offering more standard features vs other luxury carmakers who financially sodomize buyers with overpriced option packages just to get blind spot monitoring or lane keep assist.

I was going to get this over the standard V90, I just couldn't bare the cheap looking wheel arches. I know it's supposed to give a rugged aesthetic, to me it looks more like a 90s base spec car where you had to pay extra for same colour door handles, bumpers and wing mirrors........
Test drove a V60 after test driving an Audi A4 Allroad. The Volvo sat up higher and the ride was much stiffer. Audi ride was nicer. I like Audi's infotainment much better also. Don't get me wrong the Volvo is nice but think going Audi. Plus Audi much quicker. Kind of sad.
@@joespittle1 Hardly means anything. Just because a powertrain is offered in a luxury car doesn't make it luxurious. 4-cyl cars aren't luxurious because they aren't smooth and they don't sound good. They're not as refined and predictable and luxurious as 6+ cyls. I can't justify paying big bucks and getting a 4-cyl luxury car, especially when the competition offers 6 or more.
I think it has its own distinct look from Audi; it's cleaner and uses that cleanliness to draw attention where Audi is more overtly glamorous to the point of being overwrought at times. I'd like a Volvo with Audi driving dynamics; right now, they drive like Toyotas and that's not what I want in this range.
It's nice, but the soul is gone in these newer models. The older P2 xc70, with the T5 5 cylinder turbocharged engine sounds better and feels much torquier and smoother in acceleration with their aisin transmission. The New one sounds rough on the kickdown.The older cars' dash oriented towards the driver which I like more. Plus, the older xc70 did a lot more off roading than the new one.

Decent car, although these cars have never necessarily impressed me. I don't think the $55,000+ price tag is justified either. Way too expensive for what you get. I can find something nearly as good, if not better, for $15,000 less. Looking at you, Subaru Outback

I test drove over the weekend as well. Comfy, but deal killers were visibility, the irritating start stop, and turbo lag and engine graininess.

I wish they had an elevated touchscreen - the higher up one is the better, you have to really glance down for that one it seems.
This is eye level for most people, elevated touchscreens look tacky.
After a while, you get used to where the buttons are. You can edit what is on the home screen so everything is just a couple of presses away

How is the warranty subpar? 4 yr/50,000 miles from the manufacturer which includes Volvo OnCall roadside assistance and OTA software updates.

Yeah, Volvo has become too expensive. Previously it sat at a sweet spot between cheaper cars such as VW and Toyota, and the more expensive M-B etc.

The D5 is significantly more Swedish than the old 2,4L D5 as that was, whenever you like it or not, a VW engine.

@@Scythes You don’t that the old 5-cylinder D5 was based in a VW architecture. The classic D24 was an all out VW engine, as well as the first gen V70.
It is a beautiful car but it still sounds like a 4 cylinder.
That's why you should always get the B&W sound system in the new Volvos

Decent car, although these cars have never necessarily impressed me. I don't think the $55,000+ price tag is justified either. Way too expensive for what you get. I can find something nearly as good, if not better, for $15,000 less. Looking at you, Subaru Outback
standard v90 is way bettter and looks way more clean the the cross country.. the cross country has to much plastic styling
