When I first fought the Gorewood, I realised how difficult this game was going to be. Than it turned out I wasn't supposed to fight it at lvl 3... I killed it though.
Like most bosses, he only has 3 attacks, all telegraphed heavily... the thing with this game is that you can kill bosses way earlier than you're supposed to (I always beat Thane as soon as I meet him so I can lvl up faster, then I kill Gorewood lvl 3 too) because their attacks are easy to counter. Argul who is lvl 20 can be beaten easily at lvl 11-12...
This is still one of my favorite games of all time. God of War, Zelda, Diablo, Prince of Persia. Blending so many cool game styles into one unique package with amazing art, music, story, and gameplay. Such a masterpiece.
Samael is awesome. He knows everything that's happening, and toys with the horsemen for his own entertainment. Though he does seem to genuinely respect them.
And I also like how Death just came to him and was like, "Give me the key, or you die." To come to such a strong demon and say such a thing to his face is worthy of respect, I think.
Crow Father: Why should care about your brother's fate? Death: Because if don't... I'm gonna pull your beard off. Crow Father: You will not pass while I live. Death: Ah... You say to Death. I do ponder what will happen!

Stellar work making these games really stand out from the creative team(s) Also, who tf thought that giving Fury a whip would be anywhere NEAR as cool as war's massive fuckoff sword, or death's edgy and badass af dual scythes? cmon.
I like the concept of the "whip". Which in fact, its a weapon that transforms according to Fury's will, it just happens that her favorite form is a whip. It actually matches her personality. But yes, no where as cool as a big sword and two scythes that can transform into one.

I think DS3 was made with lower budget than DS2, that’s why most DS3 bosses were like common enemies in DS2... because they big company went bankrupt before...
[Spoilers] I loved the hell out of this game, but this video in particular highlights how much of a let-down the final boss was for me. He was the very font of Corruption, which had twisted every species in the Darksiders universe to do his bidding. After fighting angels, demons, undead, constructs, and Lovecraftian aberrations... the final boss is what, this slightly large dude? With the same green corruption aesthetic (without any added twist) every other boss has had? Come on! The Wailing Host was more imposing and impressive than this guy! Absalom SORELY needed a phase two where he transformed into some Cthulhu-level monstrosity for an epic final bout.
Kinda agree that the final boss as a letdown. Storywise it's just straight march into his layers and tadaa the boss fight. In gameplay, he felt like his nephilim form yet somewhat enhanced the corruption. Maybe even if he didn't have another form, he could've instead use some newer and more divergent attacks like arena manipulation (helps being a Champion of Corruption in his own Domain) that were found after said type of transformations while carrying out his physical attacks, the pattern easing out due to the difficulty that would come from both sides. Still, as a late game boss in itself, Absalom was a total beast.
design-wise he's alright, the horsemen themselves and other characters have demonstrated that you don't need to be a giant abomination to be super powerful. what disappointed me was how little HP he has and how directly you access the fight without going through some sort of final dungeon (coupled with the shortness of world 4).
