Hey Keith, no you will not have to change the charger for your scooter. The batteries will work with the original unit but they will take an extra hour of charge time.

You could have used a weller gun to heat the terminals and just pull them of and on to the other batteries. Note if the float voltage is 13. 4 to 13.8 volts on the charger the batteries can remain connected indefinitely just like the emergency light AGM batteries and UPS units do as long as the smart charger is operating correctly. ----- FAQ | What are the 3 Stages of Smart Chargers? - BatteryStuff.com www.batterystuff.com/blog/3-stages-of-smart-chargers.html Jun 13, 2012 - Most smart chargers do not turn off at this point, yet it is completely safe to leave a battery in float mode for months to even years at a time. ... If those spade terminal connectors got closed before you got to using them(or smashed closed) you can try a butter knife or a utility knife to slowly pry them open.
If there is glue covering the terminals on your old batteries that means that they are soldered underneath. You would either need to re-solder the wires to the new battery set or cut the wires at the solder point and attach a crimp on style terminal connector to the end of each wire. This would allow you to attached and remove the wires as you need them without any soldering.
I ordered replacement batteries installed them they worked fine but when they were low on power they wouldn't take a charge.and i have a new charger could you give a help me with this issue? Thanks.
Is this the first time you have tried to re-charge your new batteries? Does the LED indicator on the charger and or scooter change when the charger is connected to the scooter?
So if you can't leave the charger on for more that 24 hours what do you recommend for keeping the battery charged so it doesn't drain completely? Can I use a trickle charger?
Are you concerned about the battery charge level when the scooter is in storage for a period of time? If so then I would recommend either a digital or manual timer. They are pretty inexpensive and you can set it to turn on once a month for a few hours throughout your storage period.
Yes, if you could find room for the extra batteries you could increase the ride time on the scooter. If your looking to go through the trouble of wiring up a parallel setup of batteries you should take a look at increasing the capacity of the original two batteries in the scooter. For example, the originals are 12V 7AH - you could take a look at a 12V 9AH upgrade option which would be the same foot print as the original batteries.
Yes - you would be getting about 20 - 25% more runtime out of your scooter. We have had a lot of positive feedback from our customers that have chosen to go with the upgraded 9AH version.
I would check out a Home Depot - a good spade terminal connector that they typically have is called the: 0.250 Series 12-10 AWG 10/Clam Female Disconnect Fully Insulated Nylon Its in the electrical section, a staff member should be able to point in the right direction -
