Essential equipment I use on my rides. . Helmet . Elbow/knee pads . Hand/wrist guard. . Rear head light attached to my helmet if riding at night. . Shred lights during night rides. I've fallen off a number of times going when going fast. No major injuries. The safety gear usually takes the brunt of the damage.
Full face DH helmet, sunnies, wristguards, custom made palm and finger guards, MX CE level 1 armour for chest, backbone, elbows, kidney guards, tailbone protector, kneepads.
Hey Scottie Cool Reviews and love seeing the scenery No.1 Helmet No.2 Wrist Guards No.3 Knee Pads No.4 Elbow Pads No.5 Lights Keep the reviews coming would love Night ride of Hadean and full review of both Hadean's bamboo and carbon :)
After one too many nosedives on the OW, a full faced helmet (Fox & Predator) are the choice with some quality gloves for some added comfort. I'm rocking the Nobleman elbow and knee pads if in shorts, or the Lazyroller hoodie for the colder mornings! It's always the elbows and hands that get roughed up with me!
Hey Scotty, you should definitely always have on: No.1 a helmet, No.2 knee pads, No.3 wrist guards, then elbow pads, shoulder pads and so on... Another great video Scott. Keep them coming. Looks like an amazing board to ride! Been looking for an upgrade lately, so fingers crossed 🤞 Cheers
Since I’m recovering from a fractured humerus bone on a one wheel (shattered the other side 19years previous while wearing armored MC jacket) shoulder / arm protection is 1st (alpinestars evo jacket) but now wear everything .
All gear…I busted my ankle sometime ago..the locomotion I discovered was kneeboard that made my incapacity null.. i had so much fun on that thing that was kinda bummed out when I got better.. heh.. been wanting to get a board for while..researching to see which I’d spend the dough on..
I had a X1 Pro. It was kind of a mixed bag. Build quality was good, top speed was good, ride was good but only on good roads but range was poor, battery sag was bad and wheels were too small.
Helmet first ,but its the wrist guards that have saved me the most ,dont like falling but sh** happens always when you least expect it .stay safe ,travel well🙏🏼😊
Another nice vid Scott and the X1 Max is a sweet stealthy commuter. Don’t leave home without a helmet and usually ride with knee pads, slide gloves and an armoured hoodie which has saved me more than once from a trip to hospital 🛹
Exway wave: Do you need your remote to connect to the board via your phone? I bought a board and it didn't come with the controller and my phone said it couldn't connect to the board/ do you need the controller to connect via your phone? I bought the board for parts or not working without the remote/ I wanted to make sure the board would work before buying the remote for $100: so expensive Thanks. I wasn't sure if you needed the remote to connect to the board via your phone, and do you think that the new remote would work with the board? I'm not sure how you would go about pairing it to the board (the new remote anyways thanks) ?
My is: 1. Helmet is totally MUST when riding. I got FOX helmet and its great 2. Knee and Elbow pads it's great to have 3. Gloves with palm protection 4. When speeding I put my vest.
I know the game is long over, but my favorite piece it the Onsra longsleeve thingy with the lvl 2 pads. Also I got lucky and got a really cheap used leather motorcycle jacket and pants combo with kneepads etc., which is great for riding when it is cold and or windy!
My most essential piece of safety equipment was my mom. If I were to head out the door without anything related to my safety she would say, Rango, make sure you wear this, or, don't forget to wear that. What a ball breaker, but I never got hurt.
The most essential piece of safety gear is my helmet. After that kneepads and wrist protection. When I do fall, I really appreciate the hip protection I usually wear, it's saved me from lots of big bruises.
Nice vid again Scott, the lights option would have been a good shout. For me I always have helmet gloves and elbow pads. On faster rides my full face and leg and back protection too.
Nice stealthy looking board .. 👌.. As a new rider I always wear my helmet and knee pads . Thinking from all the comments I might be needing some wrist guards as well . Love your work and your community. God luck everybody
I wear full gear when eskating. Helmet, elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards because injuries heal slower at my age and it lessens the anxiety which equals more fun. Most important imo would be the helmet as our noggin is the most precious thing we possess!
Nr 1 safety item is definitely a helmet. Brain damage is the worst, all the rest will usually grow back. Good 2nd place for me are my (nobleman tech) wrist protectors, they work great even with a remote in hand and help reduce a lot of damage if I fall.
I only wear a left wrist guard, on my left hand I can't because of the controller. Any ideas here (depends on type and brand I suppose) ? On my first (and knock on wood Last) crash, my controller itself took part of the impact and was crushed, which was the least of my worries at the time.
How would you compare it to the Exway Flex? Think I‘ll buy one of these two, but actually am not sure wich one is the bette option for me. I live in an area with rather bumpy roads and some steep roads. Dont know if the flex would help absorbe the bumps or just bounce me of the board. Any preferences? Thx And also I dont know if the embedded battery is a plus or rather not. I guess both boards have a pretty impressive amount of power and range, nothing that makes me decide for one or the other. And then there is the question with belt /riot vs direct drive. Heard that the direct-driven boards dont feel so nice while cruising and also are a little less stable on bumps, is that right? On the other hand the riot versions often are called out for being pretty loud. I dont want to annoy anybody, but think it could be somewhat usefull to be heard to people know that I will/want pass them. Would you say the roit version is rather on the annoying side or useful? Thx!
For me it's always gotta be a helmet, but nowadays I am usually wearing my XBoard gloves. For the helmet at speeds under 20 or mostly off street rides, I'll wear my half shell tsg. For anything generally above 20 or on street I wear my full face Triple 8 Racer.
For me when riding a helmet is a must (even after doing a lisfranc injury while riding lol) many times I've had a fall and smashed my head against the ground and if it were not for my helmet my brains would have probably been on the ground right there!
Most essential peace of savety gear is my helmet it’s also my only peace of savety gear. I i usually don’t ride that fast and and look out when I do. But some savety gear whould be nice to practice some tricks like sliding.
Hey Scott awesome video as always. As for me I think the most important safety equipment is a helmet. I personally use a full face helmet myself… But knee/shin and elbow/forearm pads with wrist guard is also a must. Patiently waiting on my endeavor pro but happy with my Verreal for now. Keep it coming with these awesome vids.
Armored long and thick pants and hoodie , comes with a helmet with a good quality I don't know the name but they are pretty cheap not from online shopping
The most important safety gear will be the helmet, since you wouldn’t want to smash your head. Then an armoured jacket. Then I’ll said the light since I ride in dark a lot. If your budget allow, then having an LED helmet will be quite helpful.
Any board in theory can be manually Kick pushed, It all comes down to how tight your belts are Too tight and it will be too hard, I also have about 5mm play and my boards free roll really well Hope that helps Scott
well the most important one would be the helmet , but I don't ware all the time, in specially if I know the rote is safe, but I do ware my gloves all the time , the right hand is a a glove from bicycle gloves so I can hold my remote and the other one is from skates with a piece of metal to support my wrist in case I fall.
Great review! I am wanting to buy an e-board soon and have been doing research. I really like the stealthy look of the X1 Max since e-boards are not exactly legal here. The only thing that bothers me is the noise from the belt drive and people can hear it from a mile away. I would like to see this in a direct-drive version (not hub) like Onsra has in their line of boards and these are almost silent. My budget is 1k so the latter is out of the question for me.
I think the most essential piece of safety protection is a helmet. Obviously any safety equipment is good to protect what you have, but I think an injury to the head can be more dangerous than an injury to the wrist. I’ve had situations while snowboarding where if it wasn’t for my helmet, I would’ve been in trouble.
I don’t know if this sounds funny but I think my most essential piece of equipment are knee guards and hand or wrist guards. I would say 80% of falls put you in a position to scratch your knees and hands especially if you’re trying to catch yourself but if you can afford it you definitely should wear everything.
Hi thank you for this nice review! One question though: What happens if/when your battery goes bad? Those batteries have a life expectancy of 3 years...
Hey Scott. Great content. I’m 115kg but hesitant to get this board because Exway lists max load as 100kg…. Am I too heavy for this board? Will it pull me up hills? I’m thinking about the hub motor version…(first board). Do you have a different hub motor board you’d recommend? My budget is sub $900 USD…
Hi mate, Check out the tynee ultra, that’s a good little board and cheap at the moment “. For your weight I’d go belt as you’ll get more torque. Check my video out on it.
dont get a hub board if your heavy the motors will overheat get a belt board. I had a backfire g3 and had so many issues with it especially with the motors getting too hot and failing. Im about your weight as well.
To me, the most essential safety gear is the pieces you want to wear. See people who stock up on all the new safety toys, only to not put it on for EVERY ride due to some issue/discomfort. Safety does not take a ride off.
Late entry but worthwhile. #1 safety equipment is COMMON SENSE.. Ha ha.. I f you have that critical piece, all the physical stuff will fall into place..
*Good stuff Scott* . On the Opportunities, isn't riding in strealth mode a peace of mind a reason not to include lights? One of the appeals should be the ability to carryon in "stealth mode'" without raising eyebrowse... but I agree too that it's possible to integrate lights in a way that makes it also not obvious. Something I see doable, but that could raise price even higher with the the level of customization as well as length of board. Perhaps at this moment, it's a strength, and also an opportunity than a weakness when buying this particular board after comparing with others. But you made that point too. Now see the weakness by way of the competiion between RIOT and HUB choices... so for choice of the unit as a stealth esk8 board, that little whinning noise from the RIOT will make the option of putting RIOTs on these a weakness. But as you rightly pointed out too, the noise from the RIOT motors aren't that give-away of the type of board you've got, so perhaps a smart scheme from Exways product management strategy to appeal to both types of buyers. I obviously think though that Exway should perhaps have a strategy for RIOTS separate from HUBs and optimize them to max. BTW, got my #ExwayAtlas and had my first couple of rides. Finished my first 10km and was able to move to speed mode 3.... however i found it a bit wobbly. Perhaps a video on how to reduce the wobbliness for newbies on the Atlas would be appreciated. Planning on getting the X1 Max for those days i'd like to coast in less populated parks... yea, in China parks get packed with _"mountain people"_ as they say
Yea agree with your all points, And congratulations on the Atlas; it’s a beautiful board. Great idea about the “speed wobble” video I’ll add it to my list 😊 I’ve seen the parks on in China they are always busy !! Skate safe !! Scott
Hi Scott, just discovered your youtube channel - really great content. Would it be possible to compare expensive Hadean, vs. atlas 2WD, 4WD? It would be also great if you can look in to detail, around build quality, materials etc. Thank you, Tom from NZ

Hi mate, I don’t know if I’ll get it, haven’t been asked by Wowgo yet, I’ve just filmed a new mini board today for or will be out in a few days tyneeboard.com/products/tynee-board-mini-electric-skateboard The company is owned by one of the original owners of Wowgo (it’s a really nice board)
Helmet... ALWAYS! knee pads and gloves when I know I won't be just cruising (enough to bail, if I need to). I like the Exways, but it's starting to get a bit pricier than the competition.
The helmet is undoubtably the most important. An honorable mention is proper gloves. It can really save you to be able to use your hands to take the fall without breaking your wrists and scraping your hands. And compared to a lot of other gear its very minimal effort to use!
Helmet everytime for sure.i kinda reckon exway should have released this as hub only. The star of the show here is its sleek stealth design which is cancelled out with those motors handing underneath.
I always wear a helmet. I dont think anything else is essential but that could depend on how careful/ clumsy of a person you are. I have a friend who swears on knee and elbow pads and doesn't ride without them.
@@scottdaviesyoutube I preordered the board in in the first day of August in order to get a free fast charger as well. They were saying in their site that shipment will commence on the 5th of September. I got a notice about 5 days ago that the board was shipped. Can this board be put in a neutral mode so you can push like a regular longboard? I know it's not for that, I'm just curious.

MIPS rated helmet to protect the money maker. TBF I'm waiting for the boundmotor flash to arrive so might look at getting some more safety stuff ⚡⚡⚡
Helmet the only part of my accident I remember is my face dragging on the pavement but I suppose that distracted me from my shoulder shattering
do you know the peak poweroutput? the x1 pro withe the riot drive had 3kw of peak power. nice video by the way !
well the most important one would be the helmet , but I don't ware all the time, in specially if I know the rote is safe, but I do ware my gloves all the time , the right hand is a a glove from bicycle gloves so I can hold my remote and the other one is from skates with a piece of metal to support my wrist in case I fall.
is it more powerful than the flex? my concern is that this isn't that much more powerful since it's also using the riot v2
A lot more powerful than the flex
Helmet and gloves i cant ride without it!

Really nice guy (he’s a subscriber as well)
Helmut is no.1. Used to wear downhill mtb helmut till fell off and head rattled for over 2 months. Now wear rated safest full motor bike helmut.
Helmet and Eebow pads are a must for me ✌️
Yes I think that’s the minimum these days
+gloves..
Most essential is full face helmet for high speed riding😌
A Helmet, it goes without saying... 🤘 Wrist guards for me is the next.
My most essential safety item is helmet for sure only thing that matters ♥️
Hi,when review on wowgo mini 2?
Hi mate, I don’t know if I’ll get it, haven’t been asked by Wowgo yet,
I’ve just filmed a new mini board today for or will be out in a few days tyneeboard.com/products/tynee-board-mini-electric-skateboard
The company is owned by one of the original owners of Wowgo (it’s a really nice board)
#1 safety essential item is gloves!
Helmet for sure. No question!
SAFETY FIRST!! complete safety gear is important:
1. Helmet. 2. Knee Pads. 3. Wrist Guards. 4. Elbow Pads. 5. Tail Light and Front Light.
Helmet... ALWAYS! knee pads and gloves when I know I won't be just cruising (enough to bail, if I need to).
I like the Exways, but it's starting to get a bit pricier than the competition.
Helmet is a must. Generally also always run with gloves and kneepads.
The helmet is undoubtably the most important. An honorable mention is proper gloves. It can really save you to be able to use your hands to take the fall without breaking your wrists and scraping your hands. And compared to a lot of other gear its very minimal effort to use!
best protective gear gotta be a helmet for me, full face if possible. stay safe out there
Helmet everytime for sure.i kinda reckon exway should have released this as hub only. The star of the show here is its sleek stealth design which is cancelled out with those motors handing underneath.
Never go anywhere without my helmet.
I always wear a helmet. I dont think anything else is essential but that could depend on how careful/ clumsy of a person you are. I have a friend who swears on knee and elbow pads and doesn't ride without them.
Helmet and wrist guards, I don’t roll like I use to when I was a kid.
Still waiting for it. Hope this week will arrive!🤷
How long ago did you order ? Shipping should be about 1-2 weeks
@@scottdaviesyoutube I preordered the board in in the first day of August in order to get a free fast charger as well. They were saying in their site that shipment will commence on the 5th of September. I got a notice about 5 days ago that the board was shipped. I tried to contact them through email a couple of times once they replied 20 days later😂, now I have a tracking number they sent me and it appears the board is in transit🤷♂️. I hope sometime next week it will arrive so I can ride a bit before the rain arrives.
Good luck !! Let me know if I can help at all
@@scottdaviesyoutube thank you very much, it is actually my first e-skate and I am really excited. Hope it arrives soon. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Helmet is my favorite piece of protective gear cause my brain is important. But elbow pads come in a close second .
wrist guards and helmet!
