    Reddick has zero leverage. He has to play to make a pay day next year

      Yes your right but it becomes a headache within the locker room and the media will talk about this daily. This is bad for team chemistry. Reddick is a good guy but trading for a guy who wants to get paid is silly

    To those whining because I am not a Conklin fan…yes I have watched the Jets and NFL for 40 years and yeah I’m not impressed by Conklin. At all. He’s overrated and I’d rather give his roster spot to player with upside. My opinion.

    Completely agree with Connor about letting reed and Conklin go… this fan base doesn’t get we can’t keep everyone and Carter is the better signing vs reed… also Conklin is a solid player but I don’t think we will feel the drop off at all from letting him go I honestly believe ruckert has a higher ceiling then Conklin

    Do they really _have to_ extend Reddick? And will a new deal tear up 2024's contract? Does Reddick want more than the $15mil he's getting this year? I think everyone is assuming that they traded for him to extend him, and that would be causing a false starting point to how we're looking at it. They got two 1st round edges they like and maybe, just maybe, Joe D got Reddick as a better/cheaper version of Huff and a one-year rental to make a 2024 run at it, and save money at the same time. And take the comp pick when he leaves.

    Can't blame Reddick for wanting to get paid.

    Reddick is great. I would say underrated. Dude always flashes. That said, JD does not have to pay him. Let him play out and if he walks get the comp pick. It's still a win now move.

      Yeah I think it's presumptuous to say they traded for him with the intent to resign/extend him. We don't know that. A better/cheaper version of Huff as a one-year rental with a comp pick (that might be the same 3rd they gave up to get him) on the back end is a smart move by Joe if that's what his motive is.

      @@MoMoMyPup10 that only makes sense if they believe and think Mcdonald will take a huge step forwards. If not they are just renting Reddick for 1 year and then may have a hole opposite of JJ after next season.

      @MoMoMyPup10 your crazy to think that. But it's the jets a dumpster fire organization. Your playing with fire trading for a guy who wants a new contract

  • @JasonVersaggi

    Agree with just about everything except Conklin. I think he's ordinary to overrated. Empty yards. I would love to dump him right now (Cap hit and all) and give Ruckert starting job and elevate Kuntz and Yeboah. When Jets were desperate at TE (because they gave their new QB Zach NO TE AT ALL) they overcompensated (poorly IMO) with knee jerk signings of Uzomah and Conklin. I wanted Kincaid last season and Bowers big time this draft. Want our own Kelce instead of this endless parade of middling TEs and Conklin is middling.

      You wanted Bowers and you think yeboah, ruckert, or kuntz are as good as conklin?! Be honest you are not watching the all-22

  • @Edward19892
    @Edward19892 3 месяца назад

    With all do respect if we lost a 3rd round pick to end up paying 30-31 y/o Reddick top pash rusher money after letting 26 y/o Huff walk for 17 mil/year we should just admit Douglas botched this bad. I know there's pressure to skew optimistic on these platforms but rationalizing that is not even credible.

    • @MoMoMyPup10

      What makes you think Joe ever planned on resigning him?

    • @Edward19892
      @Edward19892 3 месяца назад

      @@MoMoMyPup10 I'm sincerely hoping he doesn't, but that would make the move only slightly less stupid anyway. Unless we're planning on doing another complete rebuild after this year (in which case JD should be fired for different reasons), it still doesn't make sense to lose a 3rd rounder for a one-year rental when you had an arguably already better, younger, improving pash rusher on your roster for 3 years at a reasonable cost.

    • @Mon-zw4ui
      @Mon-zw4ui 3 месяца назад

      @@MoMoMyPup10so you trade for a 1 year rental that's gonna be a distraction haha
