I’m building a mock up in 1/10th now to make my final decision on two matters for my own full build. Those being: Split top or single top & closed mortise and tenon or rising dovetail. Thank for the video.
I probably will not build the miniature version, but your video has sold me on the design of a Ruobo workbenches - so if I ever have room, that's the type I will make. Thanks for your excellent explanation. And your daughter will be very lucky to get such an well-made bench - if you ever let it go!
I don't have the room for a full size one either. Now that I've explored the mechanics and how useful it is, I'm starting to wonder if it could be half scale and still as workable
Finally, a new video! Your daughter is a lucky girl, she has her own Roubo workbench (and a very cool dad too)! Very well done, even though I do have some concerns about using it in a real workshop. 👍
Cool! I thought about the idea of building a scale model of a project to get a sense of how it will appear and operate. It also helps plan all the operations involved before committing costly materials to it.
Yes it's a good idea. Now I have a really good picture of what would be involved in the creation of the vises, where they would fail and how to fix it in a larger build.
For your daughter you can make a platform she would stand on while working and attach the bench to it. The secure attachment and her standing on the platform would make the bench less liable to move when sawing or planing.
Thank you Sir, you solve some questions about a mobile Saw-Workbench and you see me laughing-layinged right in front of my armchair in imagination of this little girl, standing on the messed bench of the river Babylon in between a smashed samsonite case, screeming: " Mum, where is my Workbench!?"
Hi Tony, no, I just made it off the top of my head, and by studying the full-sized benches and reducing the dimensions. Like for instance, a full-sized Roubo is about 36 inches high, and this 1/6th version is just over 6 inches high.
No, sorry - I always 'freestyle' my builds. If you can find a full scale roubo plan online, you can just reduce to 1/6th (or whatever reduction you want)
Hello Sir, I have been working in a micro enterprise for about a year and a half. I make small wooden objects and often “struggle” to hold my small parts. And your mini workbench would be really great for me! It's very well thought out, well done! Would it be possible to place an order please? Are you selling it? And at what price please? cordially Speedwell
Hi sir, may i allow you to ask you the age of your daughter please? I am French and my English is very far! So thanks to google translator. cordially Speedwell
This is the test of design for the rubo design! Congrats!
Admirable Dad !
Amazing table! Congratulations for the video! Realy your daughter is a lucky girl! 👏👏🤗🤗
Such a beautiful gift from the artisan dad to a the lucky doughter ⭐️⭐️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I’m sure she loves this

Really interesting, 1/10th sounds challenging! Sounds like its going to be really strong with your joinery
Great little work bench Friend! Thank you for sharing the video with us!💖👌👍😎JP

Thanks! Yes, who knows how long it will last. Kids are actually harder on tools than adults
u can add rubber pads to the bottom of the legs to increase the grip too.
might give some protection to the wood as well.

That is awesome.
very cool!

That's really smart, her own mass creates the stability - very clever! I love efficient solutions, thanks!
This could be the foundation of a new woodworking movement where you work boxes and furniture in miniature.
That's brilliant. Looks really good and looks like it works well for smaller items.
This bench is perfect for model maker.Kenny
Yes it is! I've found it very useful for tiny wooden parts that would get lost in a larger style setup. Thanks for watching!
Great idea its small and portable to take to the beach and have some fun, same as bringing a six pack of beer to fhe beach.

lol!
Nice
Hey there! Do you have any plans available for this? I’d like to make one too!
I didn't draw up any plans, I just copied a full sized bench and scaled it down on the fly.
Nicely made bench. One addition I would add is to make the top surface into a vice by making one piece moveable.
tendras los planos con las medidas de todo ese banco de trabajo que se ve que esta muy buenisimo !!!
+A Canadian Woodworker I was wondering what tools you needed to complete this mini roubo workbench?
Wonderful, do you have any plans or dimensions for this project ?

thank you for this great idea. It is a bench bull on steroids.

Why are tiny things that should be huge always so pleasing
Because everything is better in miniature!
nice
Are any set of plans available for this

Would you be able to share plans and material requirements for this?
Just scale down full sized plans.
Are there drawings?

Hi Veronique, the bench was a one-off build for my daughter's Christmas present. If she wants to sell it, you will be the first to know! :)
@@acanadianwoodworker Hello sir,

You need a flip down or removable handle on the end vise
Yeah you're absolutely right, it always get in the way
Чудово!
Хочу такий чудовий станочок.
Stop playing with your daughter's toys! 😁
Ok à on
