Johnny, awesome truck, man! I still remember chatting with you at WFC 2000, my dad with me. He’s passed away over 20 years now. But, I still have the 1999 Lightning in my garage.
I’ve had three Lightning’s in my time and a lot of parts from Johnny! Absolutely love that truck!

Haha!!! Never seen Bo or Luke Duke jump into and then plow a vegetable field! Maybe a barn or two!!! Glad all ok. Yeah, been a fan of Mr. Lightning since the 2000’s. A wheelie in a truck, you know the suspension is primo setup.

Nice! Brings back memories of my own ‘04 Lightning. Picked it up in 2010 with a JLP built motor with CNC heads, stage II cams and ported/pullied Eaton. The sound and response with a full Bassini exhaust will not be forgotten. Mostly a street truck and pull rig for an open track car. 7 years of good times and got what I paid for it in 2017. I See his setup every year at the Ford Nationals in Carlisle PA.
Now I run a ‘21 F150 4x4 short box regular cab with 5.0 Gen III Whipple. Doesn’t make the torque of that ‘ole Lighting, but the 10 speed and top end is in another league when you have a clear path haha.
Mr. and Mrs. Lightning and that ‘ol Lightning Jet plowing squash. It doesn’t get any better than that! Thanks for the great video Evan!

Always good to see Johnny Lightning at thee track! Got a valve body for 4R100 on my 02 Lightning from him. What a deal, valve body, deeper pan with drain plug (no plug on stock) deeper filter, pan gasket, for $289. Can’t beat that price and the shifting was beast mode compared to stock.

Love the early Lightnings! Especially in Muscle Mustang heyday
You two guys inspired me to buy a lightning back in 2004. Probably one of the most fun vehicles I'd ever owned. You also inspired me to trade it off for a Hemi ram. Being a young guy with a lot of responsibilities I couldn't afford to kick the rods out of it. I wish id kept it now.
It don't cost that much to drop some forged rods and pistons into it. They already had forged cranks so they can take a ton of power without breaking a sweat once that is taken care of.
I had a red '02 Lightning. Bought it new. Stock except for the Magnaflow exhaust. It was a lot of fun, should have kept it!

Yeah I had one back in the day and loved it it was one of the first turbo lightning in the area. It ran mid- Nine's down at Bradenton. It was in one of the magazines fast Fords and muscle cars or something like that

Lightning Jet, awesome. 8 secs quarter mile and i love the graphics. The engine looks equally good. Liked all the Lightnings there and the '48 (?) he raced against. What a nice truck you had back then.

I remember seeing this Truck many times at Atco, E-Town, and Maple Grove, was always one of the Fastest Lightnings on the property, most of the time it was the Fastest, good times back then, I'm always gonna miss Atco and especially Englishtown, still can't believe they closed up. My car Always went quickest at Atco.

Put a stop light switch on the brake pedal! It will help hold the pedal in position and kep the rod from dropping out.

With a modern more efficient blower this thing should be easily in the 7s
Back in the day with the old lightning he was OK my new 10 speed truck went a second slower with him tuning. It cost me $1200 to do that.
His workmanship was good at 1 time... he hasnt cared about quality in a long time though.
