I’ve got a board going that has become basically all MXR lately. Just added this Hybrid fuzz and it’s PERFECT. Now, if only they made a tuner, my whole board would be MXR!
@dreyn7788 doesn't matter to me because I prefer my dunlop band of gypsies fuzz face over them all except fulltone and Electro Harmonix..all the rest need not to apply at least not with me..
Good pedal for Hendrix tones? Seems to have the clean tone from a fuzz going on. Knowing rj is a hendrix connoisseur - would be great to hear what he thinks on this front... And from others too
Tell me what you think, does it have a mushy compressed feeling or a quick release attack, does the sustainable part of note stop abruptly or just trail off, to me its similar to the ole Rams Head, how about you?
So that volume level stays all the way up.... that has to be loud af. Can you try some demos where you move the volume knob some too? As mostly a bedroom player, I can't have that volume level maxed out!
@@michelecaletti4095 Odd. When the volume is just maxed out on different fuzzes and gain pedals, that just doesn't work with my platform to also have a clean tone, and other pedals for gain stacking.
Another really useful demo, and the usual immaculate playing, but I'm not convinced by this pedal. Fuzz Face alternatives are a dime a dozen, and this one isn't distinctive enough to justify its price. The best I can say is that it's okay. Not really sure what MXR were thinking here.
@@BernieZazz If you mean 'which is the best Fuzz Face clone?', it's the one that sounds best to you. The original circuit has only 11 components, including the pots, that affect the sound. Start by listening to an original 60s sample and then find a modern equivalent that gives you what you want at the price you can afford.

Why are mxr pedals so solid? Like, just never weird but always ‘right?’ Damn.
I have the Dunlop band of gypsies fuzz face very happy with it
Sounds awesome and I love the graphics! Nice playing R.J!!

Greetings from the rabbit hole. My fuzz pedal wish list just got even longer. Like Mark Arm, I'M SICK!
Wonderful sound!
When will uranium version come out?
Sounds very very similar to my Crazy Tube Circuits Starlight

Nice!! Lovely mellow fuzz with great sustain!

Does it play nice with buffered pedals in front?

Not necessariily. I use Fuzz face and unity volume is maxed out.

Fuzzface-style circuits don’t have a ton of output-this one is unity at about 3-4 o’clock.
I like the firebird in the beginning 😮 Does anyone know the brand
It's a Kauer Banshee. For future reference, RJ lists the gear he uses in the description of his videos ;-) .
@@noisesoundtonevibe Thanx, didn't found info's bout the gear 💪

Sounds great even on my phone. R.J. I have an opening in my band. We are called Wild Kitten. Just sayin
🔥🔥🔥🎸
Alan Forbes graphic is extremely cool ...... But that Fuzz tone is nothing new. And not even available anywhere else than in the US.
I want t this pedal just for the artwork. I'm a CRB fan and Alan did a lot of album art for them.
Killer filler for sure! Pedal is cool too...
