This looks fantastic. However, it appears to register surfaces and objects as cuboids, with all angles essentially 90º. Is this correct? How does it cope with irregular geometries, such as curved walls and floor plans that are not characterised by 90º angles? Thanks.

What do you think about using the LIDAR scans for creating a model of the exterior site topography? As an architect, knowing the grading conditions would be very helpful.

Big problem to made correct 2D floor plan when the room is not regular..app work good whit squared room with 90° degrees wall but when one wall have different angle and I export in any format the 2D floor is wrong..appear like squared room

Hello is this scanner giving accurate measurements?
Accuracy is a question of precision. It's plenty accurate enough for my uses, but it really depends on the level of precision you need. If I'm off by a couple inches, for example, it's unlikely to affect an estimate I put together. I'd recommend if it's something where a high level of accuracy is required, double check with another measuring method
how accurate is this? i'm thinking you could scan the room, import it and rescale it with tapemeasure tool after measuring, let's say, the doorwidth?
I’ve not seen anything that tests the specific accuracy of the tool. I definitely wouldn’t expect it to be laser precise, but it’s more than good enough for most estimating I do

Does it scan ceilings or just floor and walls?
For my room, which is all the same level, it did not include ceilings, but adding it would be easy because it's flat. I haven't tested it with non-flat ceilings so I don't know what it's doing with that data (if anything)

Hi, I downloaded it to my Google Android phone and it doesn't show the same as on the iPhone, any idea if this app supports Android as well? I can't figure it out
Does your Google Android phone have a lidar scanner? As far as I know, it supports Android but those phones don't have the same features

Can i use this for cabinet making and designing with fusion360 ? Or is it just sketch up
Theoretically yes - it just creates a simple FBX or whatever kind of export you use. That said, I think it would just come in as a point mesh, so you wouldn't be able to actually edit it as a Fusion 360 item

Any Lidar systems out there that an be saved as an ESX file for Xactimate?
No idea - I’ve not used either of those
I can’t find the settings for Room Mode and the app is up to date so what gives?
Oh - one thing I totally forgot to mention in the video - Room Mode only shows up on the Iphone app if your IOS is updated to IOS 16. If you don't update your IOS it won't show up as an option

I think I need an apple laptop to view the dae in sketchup
Unfortunately not that accurate so no good for surveys. On a room about 5.4m x 5.4m the scan was 130mm and 160mm off and ceiling height was 20mm off.
To get the furniture in a group:
Select the face of any piece of furniture
Right Click
Select > all with same material
Then hold down Alt key and click on any furniture line
Right Click
Select > all connected
Edit > make group
I would definitely recommend something a little more powerful than an Iphone for surveys that require that level of detail - maybe someday I'll actually get to test something like that :). I did note how to group the furniture in the video
