  • Blood Orange Old Fashioned on Thirsty Thursday | Chef Tom X All Things Barbecue
Today's Thirsty Thursday Recipe is a non-traditional Blood Orange Old Fashioned. Chef Tom keeps saying he's not a mixologist, but he keeps preparing some great drinks, so we'll agree to disagree. What's not to love about blood oranges caramelized over the fire on the Yoder Smokers El Dorado Santa Maria style grill and the perfect combination of sweet Blood Orange Ginger Shrub from Kansas City Canning Company and bourbon cherries as well as orange bitters. This drink is as tasty as it is refreshing. Check out the full recipe in the link below!

Excellent video! I'd love to see a super long video cooking an entire BBQ, with apps and mains and drinks and desserts -- these drinks with grilled elements look stunning!

Looks great! It's more of a take on a blood orange whiskey sour rather than an OF. But really smart using the 100 proof bourbon and the grilled blood oranges are absolutely next level.

suggestion: Twist the orange zest over the cocktail before placing it in the drink, it will release citrus oil onto the top of the drink.

Hey Tom, this combination of ingredients would make a killer Buck, which adds ginger beer and makes for a great summer sipper. Thanks for the great inspiration, and lemme know where to send the bar gear.

Just curious. What is that, like a fifty dollar drink? Hope the bar isn't busy while you are out back, working on the grill.
