Bought a 2024 Forester Sport in November, our fourth Subaru. Amazing technology awesome traction in mud and snow. Still discovering features I didn't know it had.
I’m blessed to be able to afford any Lexus or BMW. After many test drives I purchased a 2025 Subaru Outback Touring XT. What a great vehicle. Excellent build quality, powerful engine, fantastic ride and very quiet.
Yeah. I have a 2011 legacy 3.6, my wife has a 2017 outback 2.5i. Now I'm considering a 2026 crosstrek hybrid/forester hybrid soon to start using so I can store my legacy as a project car and then give the crosstrek/forester to my daughters when they start driving. I want to keep customizing and upgrading my legacy. I love that car.
I drive a 2023 Subaru Forester Limited. I’ve driven 54,000 miles doing 120 round trip commutes, plus several long distance trips. The car drives just like it did the first day I drove it off the lot. Only one little rattle when it’s cold outside. Otherwise, the cabin is tight. No hiccups whatsoever. Always starts, no matter how many days not driven. It’s a great car to drive. There’s no better visibility in any other car. I love that the CVT acts like an automatic. Sometimes I forgot it not a standard automatic. I look forward to driving this over 200,000 more miles
The Boxer engine gives the Subaru it's low center of gravity. The Boxer engine gives you a lower hood line which gives you superior forward visibility. The lower hood line results in better aerodynamics which results in better fuel economy. The flat profile of the Boxer engine allows it to go under the passengers in a frontal collision resulting in superior safety. The opposing pistons of a boxer engine result in smooth operation with minimal counter balance. The transmission mounted directly behind the boxer engine unlike competitors transverse front wheel drive engine layout results in superior handling. The Subaru drive train is symmetrical meaning the right side and left side of car are balanced. The Subaru has power to all four wheels all the time unlike most of it's competitors which are normally front wheel drive only sending power to rear wheels when front wheel slippage is detected. So if you are seeking the true benefits of a symmetrical all wheel drive internal combustion engine car that has superior safety, handling in wet/dry/snow you can't beat a Subaru because none of the competitors have a boxer engine.
@@brianklamer3328 Seems like you don't understand my point. VW & Porsche are rear mounted boxer engines which without electronic nannys are some of the worst handling cars and have resulted in many deaths. They're good for acceleration with the weight over the rear wheels but are prone to extreme over-steer in hard cornering. It's just physics 101. Nice try though.🙃
Having several friends who've owned 2-3 Subarus, I've always been impressed with the brand loyalty (my wife is on her 5th Toyota Camry since 1990, so I'm a bit familiar with the concept). Finally purchased a '25 Outback Premium back in September and I have to say I'm very pleased. If I live long enough, I can see getting myself another OB if they don't go crazy with the next generation redesign. Always enjoy your videos, thank you.
I think this will be your last OB, as I heard a rumor-I think was even Alex that said it on one of his RUclips’s (pretty accurate possibility, coming from him)-that 2026 will see the last iteration of that line. I don’t know what comes after that…
Have been driving Subarus since 2001. Given Subarus excellent, full time AWD and that we live in a snowy pair of the country, I wouldn’t drive anything else. The facts that their build quality has never been higher while prices are still low compared to their main competitors is only icing on the cake.
Our older Forester saved my daughter from serious injury or death when someone t-boned us in an intersection. We both walked away and the cop that came to the scene told me he just decided to buy a Subaru after seeing us walk away from the accident. That was 20 years ago and I've been buying Subarus ever since. It sounds corny, but I'll always be grateful to our old Subaru keeping us safe and will continue to buy them based on my experience.
Subaru cars are the safest cars. Yes they score less on the bells and whistles but the visibility and road grip is the best. Had a Subaru Forester and a Subaru Outback and now recently bought the 25 Subaru Forester. The cabin is much quieter now and though you feel the initial pick up is not like the counterparts, once it gets going it's very stable. Once you start driving a Subaru it's very difficult to switch to another company
Agreed, 25 Forester is a great car. Cabin is extremely quiet. Everything feels and looks high quality. In regards to pickup I've found the sport mode useful. It doesn't do anything radical but keeps the engine a bit higher in the rev range and is useful around town with all the impatient drivers, and on hilly or curvy roads.
I'm the happy owner of a new 2024 Impreza base model that I purchased brand new for the bargain price of only $20,935 at 3.9% APR during an early Black Friday sale! Shoutout to Downtown Subaru of Oakland for the incredible deal. FYI Alex, your videos have been great for helping me to understand all of the features of the car, in particular, how to set up the automatic cruise control, lane keep assist and the auto vehicle hold (which I didn't know even existed on my car). Everything you've stated about the new Subaru models is applicable to the Impreza...quiet, a *smooth* powertrain, comfortable suspension/ride quality and a sense of refinement that I found lacking in my Kia Rio from a few years ago. I traded in my 2020 Honda Fit and while that car was a fantastic fuel saver, it was quite loud and buzzy, especially when accelerating beyond 3,000 RPM's. Adding to the quality of my Impreza, I hear *zero* vibrations or rattles inside of my car...perhaps it's because it was manufactured in Japan.
First off I’d like to say I like your channel and I am a subscriber. I have been a fan of Subaru for a long time. I have owned a total of five in the past, and currently on three of them, being a ‘79 Brat, a ‘23 Crosstrek, and my latest purchase, a 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness. I love my new Wilderness!!!! It’s an awesome vehicle. My wife loves her Crosstrek too. We are sold on Subarus!!!!! That being said I, do still love my big old Dodge truck!!!! There is still something to be said for V8s, four speeds and full lockers, front and rear!!!!!
Been driving Outbacks since 2019. I just leased my 3rd a 2025 Outback limited . I will always drive a Subaru. I also Love my local dealership and service dept. ❤
My wife doesn’t even drive our Forester and she’s impressed with EyeSite 😂 “We all thought you’re just excited because of Subaru, but actually the family likes EyeSite a lot”. 😂 For context, we share the car with two brothers.
Nailed it Alex. Would love to tell you my experience with my 24 outback transmission but would take too long. However Subaru stepped up, did not equivocate, thanks for the video.
My father had a silver Legacy Wagon of the 2nd gen and his mate had a green 1st gen. Since then I love Subaru but here in Germany it is almost impossible to find one or a good one. In 2023 only 4500 new Subarus were sold in Germany. Before the pandemic it was almost doubled and even that is not much for a country with a population of 84m people. Crazy to see the difference to the US.
The only criticisms I have with the 2024 Crosstrek are how the display is laggy to touch input when you first start the car, and the inability to permanently turn off the auto engine shutoff when the car stops. Otherwise, just an amazing car.
I drove an ascent in 2023 and was meh. I really wanted a mazda cx90. However, becayse if space i was looking to buy something smaller to replace a pathfinder that died after 152k miles. Went to subaru, drive tge outback xt onix and i was impressed by how good it felt on the road. Mazda was trying to sell me a 2024 at msrp for the same price as a 2025. No negotiation. Went to subaru and bought the outback beliw msrp with 2.9 for six years. Two weeks later and the car is very impressive.
I wanted to buy a sporty car last year and wanted a BRZ. There where none on the lots to be found. I would had to put in an order and wait three months to get it. I gave up and bought a MINI Cooper instead. It has been great, but I know when there's a problem out of warranty it's going to be expensive to fix with all its BMW parts. Subaru needs to build more BRZs so people can actually buy one.
You left something out, that doesn’t tell the whole story behind the CR rankings. In that same CR reliability rankings, Subaru came in dead last to all other Japanese brands plus Volvo and Buick, in terms of “Used Vehicle Reliability.” This means that, although Subaru has a great initial build quality, they tend to crash and burn after the warranty period. Every other Japanese brand does much better in terms of reliability, post warranty. Don’t take my word for it, read the report for yourself and compare the Used Vehicle Reliability rankings by clicking on the Subaru hyperlink.
Good video. I read today a women bought a new Forester and she is complaining about the heated seats. They only get to 90f. Then saying that your body temp is 98.6, well that is internal, not your outside body temp. Wrote to Subaru complaining and they wrote back it is a safety issue. Can you elaborate on that in a video.
The crosstrek doesn't have a footwell kit standard. But if you get this installed as an accessory from Subaru, it'll come on automatically with your lights.
Heh heh, MY first was the 2004 Forester Premium (as loaded as THAT could get, as there was no “Limited” or “Touring” trims back then) WITH 5-speed manual! I loved the control of stick shift, so stuck with that. Didn’t go for turbo, as feature was meant for speed. Living in the NY/NJ area at the time, why do I need turbo with the congestion, and getting citations for speed, right? In Central PA now, with my THIRD Forester, 2025 Touring!!!! Love it Love it Lovvvvvve itttttt!!!!!!
This shouldn’t surprise anyone who understands quality/reliability/ safety( family) and affordable pricing.Goal for 2025- forester to explore Canada from coast to coast…

I care if I like it 😂❤ As for the corporate Subaru - please offer more customisation. Less trims and more packages. And allow me to remove options - like the 18” wheels and the steel looking plastic garnish on the bottom of the car 😂 So far I’m very happy owning Forester for four years.

Subaru's definitely have extreme brand loyalty but their drivetrains have never been as durable & trouble free as Toyota until Toyota put the Turbocharged engines in the Tundra and Tacoma.
They need to take responsibility for the crappy windshields and stop having Subaru owners paying $1000 or more for replacement and calibration. Toyota or Honda is my next vehicle just because of that.
@brianklamer3328 Right. I'm saying you could buy a Subaru and save well over 1000 compared to a Honda and Toyota. That savings would more than fund a windshield replacement.

They truly sell themselves! 😃
