so it’s been a while since i posted, but i got the idea to make a deep dive video into diabolik lovers and why i hate the anime (minus the soundtrack) so much, but kinda worried i’ll get hate for it, lemme know if i should or not lol
I know it’s not the best anime in the world, but something about it makes me love it so much, and the music in it is just beautiful

so true! i remember watching it for the first time, back when i was about 13 or so. god damn it…its been about 7 years since then and honestly im a bit scared and embarrassed😅. finally, only now i decided to let this embarrassment go. cause all these years ive been thinking that i was sick and weird, but it seems like i found some relief in this whole aesthetics, vibe and mood. it became some kind of both first awakening(oh pls hope you all understand it. back then it seemed like some completely new experience in my seeing love and affection and lust and all this stuff, given that ive never had a strong affection towards anyone real in my life) and new kind of hyper fixation for the next as you can see now 7 years or so. it would sound perhaps stupid cause this anime literally in the first place wasn’t supposed to be deep or full or sense(as far as I understand, but after watching it remember just lots, lots of sleepless nights, me being a teenager, staring into the ceiling with my grandma and mother in other rooms, and them thinking, that I was as innocent as a flower including my thoughts, I firstly started to get occupied or even clouded by lust and affection and love-related stuff, even though some part of my brain was shouting me that that kind of love shown on the screen wasn’t love. all those brothers were traumatised and honestly sick. and come on, they wanted blood, they feed on it so that’s logical, raw facts. I hope for your understanding cause this is something, I mean I’d say the only thing that I’ve never told anyone in person. and perhaps will never tell cause my relatives friends and surrounding will never understand what kind of effect it had. let it be just one single hidden part of me, which I will keep and feel relief that I finally made to accept myself wholly🥀

My favourite is Rosary , something about listening to the violin version of it seems so dramatic and full of feelings.
The music is bomb! I love how classically dark it is. 💜
guys if you liked the anime (or if you didn't but you like the concept/universe) PLEASE play the games. they are all in japanese but people translated all of them on tumblr. the games are SO GOOD if you're into very dark otome games this is perfect for you, though you should beware of some trigger warnings (the game is really quite dark) BUT IT'S SO GOOD

Just watch a tutorial on RUclips, and it's completely in Japanese.

The other option to see it would be to search the Internet, luckily it's quite easy.

I have a love/hate relationship towards the anime though (solely because it's my guilty pleasure). On the other hand, part of my heart liked the soundtrack solely because of the piano & the violin. Even though the plot is not best out there, I really wish to play myself the games to get a first-hand experience, I also read the manga anthologies as well too. Thank you for the soundtrack! Plus I see the anime more like horror to my own taste, given the fact that there's no love there.
Oh god thank you thank youuuu for saying it!! Finally Goddd. There was definitely no love. At least not between guys and main characters. The boys were totally and inevitable traumatised to the deepest core and there was no way back. And poor Yui just got on their way by being sent to them. Out there people who say that omg it’s so cute that they are going around her and kinda show the signs of affection. My dears, no affection. Totally none. Just my subjective point of view but it felt like all of them just could see her as a relief for them from their endless suffering state, and some of them even could see their mothers in her(just as it was shown with Subaru). As for the question why did they sexually harass her or at least with similar hints, I personally think that it’s because they simply weren’t taught on how to express their love. Just as you could see. All of them literally had no good pattern of interaction with their surrounding. Subaru-aggression and avoidance. Reiji-arrogance and selfishness. Shu-avoidance and closedness. Kanato-childishness and selfishness. Ayato-hyper arrogance. Laito-I’d say also arrogance and selfishness.
So yeah. That’s it. If the anime was adapted somehow better, there could be an amazing horror based in a dark romance vampire world🥀

bruh.. disrespect to the anime... The anime was so good. It's not a love story, it's a story about issue and how they became that way because of the fuck up dad and mom. But it seem you would never know since you never took the time to learn the back story and play the game....
I watched both seasons of the anime multiple times and I’ve seen numerous play throughs of the games. I used to be a fan of the anime when I was 11-13 but as I got older I realised how fucked up it was because the whole show is just them abusing her. hardly anything else happens apart from that. the games are definitely different and I don’t hate them but the anime was absolutely awful.
diabolik lovers, what a missed win... the plot had potential, but they screwed it up. the anime could go better
