I was very you in the 80s, I was born in 1976, but man alive it was the best.
The combination of being care free cause you're a child and the epic culture at the time was just heaven.
Not to get into politics or anything, but these days with all the PC, gender, Biden/Trump shit it's ruined life.
We need to get back to our guns, free speech and the nuclear family.
A time when anyone would help anyone and wouldn't chastise them simply for having a different opinion. And I think that was one of the key things - everyone was allowed to express themselves in any way they wanted and weren't attacked for it.
Nowadays if you support Trump or anything you're immediately fired from your job and outcast from everything!! Its a joke.
These kids scream about freedom while oppressing everyone that isn't left wing!!

Tom Cruise is by far the TOP GUN of the best actors in Hollywood today. Deserves an Academy Award but they will never give it to him because he does not fit their mold. Have been a fan of his since the early 80's. His longevity in the industry is a tribute to his professionalism and dedication to do a job correctly. He is a box office draw that keeps on drawing and cannot be matched by any other actor in Tinsel Town today. His character roles are always inspirational and thought provoking. Can't wait to see this film.

I keep saying it... THIS is how you make a movie. This is how they used to make movies. Not overly done CGI. Just subtle CGI to enhance scenes.

I was 6 years old when top gun came out. We recorded it off the tv onto the VCR and I watched it so much we had to make another copy.
I would fast forward past the love scenes just cuz I wanted to see dogfights. I named my first pet, 2 fish Maverick and Goose.
My parents got me F-16 tomcat models and I would hand fly them around the house and outside for hours.
The opening intro gets me going just like it did when I saw this at age 6. I’m now 38 and I’m not afraid to admit I fucking love this movie on a level most wouldn’t understand.
It is my number one of all time. I will be there at the very first showing at an IMAX theater in the front row. I’ll be in full maverick costume complete with my helmet.
I’m sure there are others who feel the same way. I hope to see you there!

I saw the first Top Gun while I was training as a Nuclear Reactor Operator in Idaho Falls at the S1W prototype reactor. Yep, the very first one for the 575. I went on to serve on the USS Carl Vinson for 7 years. I loved putting my hands on the F14, F18, S6, A-7, EA-7 and EA-6B's in the hanger bay. 3 WestPacs and a PacEx. It was my pleasure to help move that big a** ship through the water, and generate steam to launch all those great aircraft. 35 years later, I still consider my experience as a once in a lifetime opportunity to serve. The best men and women the US has to offer. I think this will be a great film that showcases what it means to carry on tradition. My Dad was recently inducted in the French Legion of Honor for his heroism in liberating Alsace back up to the Rhine River in WW2. He inspired me, and I hope these films inspire a new generation of Americans to put their country first and become a member of a very exclusive club. My best to all Americans and God Bless.

The 1st one didn’t use cgi either. They used models and actual fighter jet volunteers.
In fact, here is a little back story. During filming of the first one, the Navy told them they could only fire 2 actual missiles, everything else was models. Their repeated use of model footage from different angles was so convincing the Navy contacted them yelling they were only allowed to use 2 actual missile. The production responded with “We know. The US Navy isn't stupid enough to give this Xenu worshiping psycho the controls of a real fighter plane.

He not really actually flying the fighter jet.He only just sit in the back seat as a co pilot in the fighter jet when it really flying.Only when those HD movies cameras close up shots that when they actually showing him on the pilot seat of the fighter jet only whenever it on the ground. There is no way in hell the Navy and the Air Force letting an actor actually flying a 30-40 millions dollars fighter jet.

I'll wear a mask the entire time, I'll wear gloves, I'll change out of my clothes when I get home, I'll take a shower then rub sanitizer everywhere. I just have got to see this on the Big Screen with the best sound. I-Max maybe.
