- In this video I go through the differences between the Ford Sync 2 and Sync 3 systems, followed by a detailed install (which is pretty easy to do). Note this can be a relatively expensive upgrade, so I give my perspective on if it's worth it, and some different ways you could potentially get your hands on a sync 3 and why I chose to do it this way.
Also wanted to say this has the Android Auto for the Non-Apple people.

Excellent how to video, man. Not gonna lie, I’m going to be one of those people who gambles with the $550 eBay version when I do this. It’s a lot easier convincing the wife to let me spend $500 on a truck mod rather than $1500. 😂 I’ll let you know how it turns out when I do it.

Did the new sync 3 have factory navigation on it? I know you installed the satellite gps behind the radio but didn't see you demo the maps.
For some reason I don't have navigation just on the sync 3, which is weird because the compass works, and I installed that gps device with it. It might be an upgrade option when buying the head unit on different websites, but I'm not completely sure how to get that.
Does the Apple CarPlay work with just Bluetooth or does it have be connected to the dock for it to work?
@@danielperez2348 the only way apple car play will display with this is through the usb cord. Bluetooth will connect but it will not have apple car play display. It will just play through the Ford sync 3 display with Bluetooth
Will it still let me answer phone calls through the screen will everything still work the same
Yes calls work both on apple car play and on the regular sync 3 bluetooth. It still uses the mic in your truck, so no additional set up other than what you see in the video
Just did my swap and I don’t have none of that. I have a platinum f150 and I swapped over my kit and yes I’m able to use my ac seats and massage seats but they don’t come up on my radio and neither does my 360 cam. I was told I have to go through obd2 and configure radio to my truck

@@dalegraven7697 got mine about 2 months ago. Site i got it from was 750 plug and play works great love it. Everybody i know have all used same page. Hate y’all are paying so much
