His departure is beginning to feel like a few life chapters ago now. Pre-9/11. The internet still kinda in it's infancy. Cellular phones were not ubiquitous. Anyway I'm glad these songs exist. Nothing wrong with them whatsoever.
He had such a knack for coming up with these really elusive and unpredictable, yet incredibly potent chord changes and melodies which really set him apart from almost all of his contemporaries. Even in it's less than fully realized state, this album is overflowing with so many exciting and intoxicating musical ideas that I find it more endlessly relistenable than almost any other release of the time period. Rarely in music has so much potential been lost.
@Kyle-91 Here is a quote that echoes your sentiments: “Jeff is one of my favorite musicians and singers of all time. Never have I seen such infinite musical potential in anyone. It's just gone. It's chilling how much it hurts.” - Ben Harper from Canada's JAM! Music
Really underrated album. Jewel Box on the second disc is prob my favorite song of his. Some amazing albums were recorded at Easley Studios - Pavement's Wowee Zowee, Sonic Youth's Washing Machine and Silver Jews' Starlite Walker
his name is pronounced michael "tie"... you really honed in on important points like the reverb tails tho. i think disneyland is way more your vibe... sorry but this is just offensive and useless
