I currently live in a 25' x 8 1/2' 1982 Nomad, its tight but well worth its weight in gold! I am extremely happy to have something other than a cardboard box.

bryjb10 The wood was some hardwood scraps from a cabinet shop. Its a mixture of: maple, oak, walnut, cherry and some other random pieces I cant identify. It was a little tricky getting the pieces square and joined -- but it was free!

Tresa Lamb Yep! New plans with the wood stove...going to place it where the moveable bench is. Better location and plenty of space for clearances! Cheers!

Lord Trini We were on a pretty tight budget...paid $2750 for the trailer and wanted to keep everything under $5k. The repairs snowballed (floor rot, frame rot, water pump, cracked water tank, leaky black tank, shot power converter...the list goes on...) and I have lost count. We've paid for stuff as we have had the funds and I would say we are probably in it $7-10k. Wish I knew what I was looking at before I bought this rig!

Very nice work! How did you make the wood countertop for bathroom sink? I need to make a new one and was considering wood. Could I use 1/2 inch plywood or must I have a 3/4 inch thickness? Its only 4 ft long and 1 -1.5 ft wide for the sink countertop. I will be mounting an undermount steel sink to that. I need advice on the wood finish and best type of wood that will not warp or be affected by moisture.
Also, would love to know how you attached those aluminum trims to your cabinets and countertops! I want to do that with my RV and remove the cheap plastic wood trim sections.
With regard to your bathroom, if you want to know how to tile the floor with mosaic, its easy and will not crack! I know how to do that. I'll trade you the info.
For wood stove, consider a Dickenson Marine Newport stove which can be mounted on the wall between window and your counter space. Saves space.

There is a trend I've noticed in every camper remodel or little house build and I want to know why is so much precious camper space always wasted on Kitchen counters? While the sleeping and bathroom quarters are always skimped on?

I don't want to waste precious living space on useless bathroom sqft, this bathroom is best I have seen design wise.

We designed the interior to meet our needs...We spend a lot of time cooking (its part of our business) so we needed a legit kitchen with room to spread out. I guess its all about your personal reference!

+Anthony Rizzo I disagree. Counter space is very important.

Lass-in Angeles I didn't say it wasn't important. I said precious space is wasted on it while sleeping and bath area is skimped on.
The difference is that cooking and storage while on the road or living minimalist can be done in a much smaller space then is mostly allocated to it.
On the other hand have you tried sleeping in a cramped space or washing up in a small shower area?
All I'm saying is more of that space would be better used in the bath and bed areas.

what kind of wood did you use for the counter tops?

How did you create the curved panels that you placed over the aluminum joists? Thanks.

    • @LightlyLivin
      @LightlyLivin  10 лет назад

When I gutted the original interior I saved curved pieces as templates (for most areas). On the areas that I did not have templates I used a scribe. Good luck!

My project is 1970 model and just getting into it, total strip down due to frame rot. Plan to move bathroom from rear to make a bed room. which will move bathroom up close to or in front the axles across from the galley. not sure what all this will intell. Hope to post pics as I go. or just as soon as I can figure out how to post them.
