Not sure about the green, but a very desirable watch. I’ve got a Solar Tuna, which is probably its most direct competitor, so won’t be buying one any time soon. Doesn’t stop me wanting one.
Great review, I have had the original in stainless steel for about 10 years after selling it, missing it and buying it again! A giant in the watch world.
Massive fan of this model, and I prefer this dark gunmetal case to the IMHO a bit to 'shiny' other (clear steel) models. Those dark numbers on the bezel could be painted for better readability, I suppose. Another reviewer of this model commented on the improved material of the strap, compared to existing models: much more supple, And with Suppaparts adapters, other 24mm straps are a breeze to fit. Lack of sapphire is no issue for me, that's a typical desk diver thing.
This is a great video and nice review of the ecozilla. I have the blue dial / yellow strap and now thinking of adding this black / green strap version. I hope they continue expanding this model line. For example, a bronze version would look great and I would definitely add that to my collection
I have a stainless one and my chapter ring has the same issue but the second hand hits them all spot on. But in spite of that I love the watch. The orange on the minute hand can be seen from outer space. Blows anything else away.
Got 1 in October, fantastic watch 🎉. Would love to put a different strap on it, but no1 makes the the gun metal adapters yet, only the titanium, or polished versions. Shop around, don’t pay retail, plenty of offers on this watch🎉
Original rubber strap is a nightmare to wear. Very, very stiff and uncomfortable, had to replace it wirh lugs and chunky metal bracelet that transformed its looks and feels very comfy.
good video.. I managed to bag the black stainless steel version for around £200,brand new. I think with the two newer versions the price should come down. I have noticed as well , on these models on the back it says for "saturation diving" and on some of the black stainless steel versions has for "mixed diving" on the back. Not sure why.Yeh they are really solid watches ,you can still pick up the black stainless steel ones either second hand or brand new
I'm starting to really appreciate these function-first watches that are practicality focused. A zombie apocalypse watch for sure! Any chance you can have an expert on the show to discuss what would last longer in an apocalypse scenario: a solar quartz (Eco Drive) or a rugged mechanical movement (Vostok, Seiko, Rolex)?
Interesting looking watch, but I'm sure I'd be bashing this beast regularly due to it's thickness. I have a 14mm Promaster (BN0085-01E) that has been taking plenty of knocks - as I'm accustomed to slimmer watches or resin G -Shocks .
It’s not really sandblasted finish, more of a gunmetal satin finish, I only had it for a week before having to send it back so I’m not sure on how long term look of it! Thanks for watching.
Hola.
Other companies may claim they have great divers fully spec but in reality most divers use citizen….that’s because they are know for great tool watches at tremendous value. Proven over many decades. So however they spec their watches it’s all base on experience…..unlike other divers made for enthusiasts.
I totally thought that myself but didn't include it in the video.... I bet this could take a serious amount of damage. But as it was a loaner from Seiko I was super careful with it.
A bit of an over the top rant about the mineral glass. And re the Rolex at 11,000m there are no human divers that can survive at even a fraction of this depth ! The record is currently 213.9m. 😅
Hey Marc, thanks for watching. yep I wasn’t focusing on the depth the Rolex could go, just that sapphire would be better for this watch and more than capable. The example was that even on an extreme watch like the Rolex, sapphire is the right choice. I even said the citizen is far more likely to end up on a divers wrist than the rolex if you watch it back. I added that bit in expecting someone to pick at that honestly.
The current deepest dive record is over 500m. The deepest scuba dive is somewhere around 332m from what I could find. Still a fair bit short of 11000m.

Actually to be of equal spec it would be the Marinemaster 300M Tuna. Considerably costlier but a true saturation diver.
Just have to say that is the best intro ever for a watch review that I have ever seen
Cheers! I probably spent longer on that than I should and your the first to mention it! Thanks for watching!
I still have my ECOZILLA all steel version from 2010 and I will NEVER let it go! This new OD Green version is rather desirable!
Great review, I have had the original in stainless steel for about 10 years after selling it, missing it and buying it again! A giant in the watch world.
I still have my steel version that I purchased on my Honeymoon back in 2010...the Marriage didn't last but my EcoZilla is still going strong! 🤣
Sam is ready for the zombie apocalypse. He can now hide underwater too😀

I really like the green version of this watch is very clean looking
Great review. I own all three versions.
What color do you wear more,or prefer more? Do you still have them?

Now that green version looks like a hockey puck 😁
Hey Jason! Is that official? Are we naming this version the ‘Hockey Puck Diver’. I’m down with that!
@@CasualWatchReviews yeah definitely, let's get it out there 😁👍🏻🏒
I will announce on the livestream on Sunday!
Ive just bought the original steel version ( ashtray) next on my list is a tuna can then a hockey puck, my life will then be complete

Thats a great deal for that actually. I’m hoping citizen send me some more to borrow for a review. Always been a big fan of the brand!

I would totally have a show with a guest who was an expert on the zombie apocalypse!
@Casual Watch Reviews lol sorry I meant a movement expert. Like there are many Seikos and Vostoks kicking around after 30 plus years
With those six indentations on the bezel, it reminds me of an ashtray.
I can’t unsee that
I won’t feed that back to Citizen when they ask how the video was received 😂😂🤣🤣
I have the older stainless steel model which I prefer, absolute tank of a watch
Great review!
Glad you enjoyed it

i bought the yellow strap version this week. love it. bit more bling than this version
Yep, this one is a bit more stealth but not sure how the boating will hold up over time! I was really impressed with this one.
Is the yellow strap one bgw9 blue lume as opposed to the green c3? No deals on the yellow in the uk currently but I’m looking daily!
@@jamespidgeon5428 it is the green lume
Is the sandblasted case finish a SCRATCH MAGNET? choosing between the steel and the OD green.

Oh yes, I bet it could break a tile floor if you dropped it! Great watch, good choice. Thanks for watching!

Fitting name! It can second as a defensive bludgeoning tool!
I totally thought that myself but didn't include it in the video.... I bet this could take a serious amount of damage. But as it was a loaner from Seiko I was super careful with it.
Are citizen ecozilla eco drive watches slightly shockproof?
Dropped it on the floor feom 30cm hight almost
Sure, I have a titanium version more than 8 years it’s a survival watch for zombi apocalypse 🎉all pro master have shock proof function
I saw the older model a while back for around $250 but I just can’t do that big a watch unless I’m a diver
Wow $250 would have been a bargain for this one
