    I always just assumed it was because Thor murdered a lot of giants, her own people. Some of whom might have been her friends or even family. And to see Thor all jolly and drunk and living it up and having a good time probably was the last straw. Probably doesn’t help that Thor himself is half giant either.

    if you think about it, the hammer and axe HAD to have contact for a few seconds to create the frozen lightning. therefore it also happened when faye fought thor- whether or not they had a small convo like kratos did with thor, we'll never know. for all we know they just continued the fight with their fists

    I think they are related and what if also Laufey was her jotnar name and her asgardian name being something else as Odin wouldn't allow his daughter having a Jotnar name . Like that she could help others from within Asgard and no one would know but then she learned that her brother killed their mother and decided to fight Thor .It would also explain why Odin calls Atreus Loki because if Faye was Odin's daughter , when he is rescued as Tyr from the prison they tell him Faye refferd to him as Loki to the Jotnars and he would respect his daughter wish and called him Loki too. Just like in the norse mythology they call him Laufeyson instead of Fárbautison as Laufey is a godess.

    Wouldn't it be awesome to have a DLC where we play as Faye across her life, fighting Thor in Vanaheim, helping Durlin, challenging the Gods and at the end of the game the final boss is Kratos when they meet for the first time, since she says "We nearly took each others heads off". They can take this opportunity to explain how Kratos arrived at the Norse pantheon side of things to begin with

    I saw your initial video and was more dismissive of the theory (just with the perspective of 'Why would Odin and company not know of her too well'), but assuming it's correct, then maybe her blood was used to make the Leviathan Axe. Having replayed 'GOWR' a couple of times in recent days, I was thinking about the scene with the 'Lady' in the water of Svartlefheim and what Brok was saying regarding the Draupnir spear and what it's ingredients were - he specifically mentioned the blood of a God. Not only this, but before this cinematic (whilst you are out collecting shards of the nearby materials for Brok, so he can repair the instrument that operates the lift that allows for visits with 'The Lady', he mentions Faye and how the Axe was made, but says that it's a story for another time. Unfortunately, we never hear any more information regarding the making of the Axe, as Brok dies shortly a bit further on, but it got me wondering if that was a way of SM hinting something. Have this be in conjuction with the theory, and it's very well possible.
    Oh, and something that Faye says and does during Kratos' memory-flashbacks, which was lift a pretty big log casually and said that her and Kratos nearly took each other's heads off upon meeting one another. I know she's a Jotun and she is going to be pretty strong, but these two things also just made me think 'Damn, her strength almost reminds me of Thrüd, in how she can move and lift things pretty effortlessly... Perhaps she *IS* actually related to Thor'.
    I don't know... I was against the theory, but I'm more for it now.
    Edit: Just watching the video and noticed you mention how she supposedly killed quite a few people from her battle with Thor (not directly, I'm sure). It just reminded me of Faye saying to Kratos something along the lines of 'We are not our mistakes. We must be better.', which is of course what Kratos said to Atreus later in 'God of War' (2018). It makes me think of how she may have been thinking of this exact moment.

    I think this was after Groa told Odin about the prophecy, and I think he killed her because he was so in love with a Giant that he refused to believe any of the Giants would end up banding together to defeat him, including his wife. I think Odin and Fyorgunn got in a heated argument where Odin asks Fyorgunn is she was plotting to kill him, and Thor may have came in and see his mother likely grab a weapon to defend herself as she likely felt scared by Odins frustration and in the process accidentally killed Fyorgunn, probably by means of binding her to a wall with his hammer, but in the process, accidentally crushing her.
    From there, Odin grew detached, angry with Thor, but also heeding Groa's vision, so he sent Thor to eliminate all threats (Giants) of the vision. Faye understandably wanted to set off and battle Thor because he killed so much of her kind and likely felt more personal because he was half Giant. That's my theory.

    This has nothing to do with the video in terms of faye and thor but somethings been on my mind, “why the blades of exile are the blades of chaos”. They were changed multiple times in terms of looks because athena was the one changing the look. But after god of war 3, they returned to the original look, and i think it’s because of what freya said in Ragnarok that since greece was pretty much destroyed, the magic died along with it, and funny enough you can obviously see athena using “magic” to change the way the blades look in GoW3. But the reason that they reverted to the original and wasn’t destroyed was because im pretty sure that the blades of chaos were formed using “primordial flames” or whatever the name is🗿. Which is a root material that all pantheons share. Anyways this is just a thought, don’t know if its true, if it doesn’t make sense, like i said, its just my thoughts.

    a better way to interpret it (in my opinion) could be that faye was actively working against the aesir, odin deduces that a giant is secretly foiling the aesir's plans, sends thor to investigate. Eventually, Thor finds faye, and as they're about to fight, their mother comes in to inform them that they're actually siblings. Thor, angered by this information, kills his mother, which then causes everything that happened in the crater. (only the location is questionable, but overall i think it's a good theory from a writing perspective)

    Theory: the reason why PPL don't know faye in asgard was cuz she was like mimir, she had a different name in asgard and after her mother's death she just moved out of asgard in one point renamed herself laufey the just or faye and was this mysteryrious warrior protecting giants snd the innocent, but she couldn't fight Thor yet bcuz she was no match when she got the Leviathen axe she went to kill Thor for vengeance we assume (also we will assume only faye's hair was exposed and she was wearing some armour and fighting Thor so that Thor wouldn't recognise faye) but then faye realises the damage she has don and spares Thor and leaves vanaheim then she meets kratos and yk but then in between the time odin knew the damage faye was capable of doing so he was preparing and searching for faye the moment faye died kratos cuts all the trees that were protecting him from being doxxed by odin then odin sends baldur to kill laufey as now he knows her location, baldur confuses faye for kratos then gow 2018 begins

    In video games hair color does mean relatively but I’m not completely sold yet, I see the logic but I also see a lot of holes. Like if they are half siblings then who is Faye’s father? From what I understand these two have fought a few times but this particular battle was the biggest, similar to how Keaton fights Thor more than once. Also if fyorgan is Faye’s mother then when did she conceive either of them?

  • @shoresean1237
    @shoresean1237 11 месяцев назад

    I am also an advocate of this theory (Thor and Faye being sibs). I even say full sibs, with Odin holding on to that tidbit until he felt Atreus was almost fully his - a deal-sealer, and one he had been explicit to those who also knew what he would do to them if they blabbed. Otherwise, he had simply exed Faye out. She didn't exist, and was never coming home as it were, so why bring her up? Mimir might have even had a memory charm placed on him for this, ala mistletoe. It is possible Fgorn died of a broken heart after witnessing one of Thor's initial rampages with Mjolnir, and that was what Faye wanted personal uncaring vengeance for. She was in that mode often enough to start with, just as Kratos killing his family was only out of character in who he ended up killing, otherwise that village meant nothing to him save as a target. This theory also reconnects Loki to the Aesir directly, and makes Atreus heritage even more staggering, being the grandson of two sky chieftains. Also, as savage as Thor was to the Jotun, this fight is better explained by two people who used to love each other now hating each other beyond comprehension.
    One last bit: If Thor did cause Fgorn's death, then this has echoes of another infamous father/son god duo: In DC, Darkseid favors Orion despite his allegiance, and despises his brutish son Kalibak. However, Darkseid despised Orion's mother, an arranged marriage forced on him by his parents, while he adored and was even willing to change his ways for Kalibak's mother, who I believe did die in childbirth. IDK if Cory et al had this echo in mind, but I wouldn't be surprised.

    You missed something, a line in the text. For her love she was betrayed[maybe Odin), and for her gift of life, her life was claimed. Her child killed her and would have been Thor.

    I hate pointless ambiguity! It gets old very fast and this game simply has too much of it. It gets very uninteresting, I question one then then realize they made it so there’s no answer.. it’s the most pointless thing in story telling.

      What sucks is alot of it started with 2018, then Ragnarok didn't close the loopholes. This Theory (which Kuba did make his own personal edits/shared his thoughts) started way before Ragnarok came out.

    I have a theory regarding Angarboda her she used colors to kill enemies so she might be linked to holika. holika in Indian mythology is a giant and holi is festival of colors. so atreus could visit India to find remaining giants.

    I like to imagine Faye had a similar story to Katara from Avatar. Faye lost her mother who tricked Thor into thinking she was the last jotnar in Midgard. Faye swore vengance spending years training to become a mighty jotnar warrior, thwarting the Aesirs plans and gaining the Leviathan axe from the Huldra brothers. Faye would reveal herself to the drunken Thor in Vanaheim claiming to be the last giant and attacks. The rage and hatred for the god of thunder blinds Faye resulting in the destruction of the valley of the crater and the creation of the frozen lightning. Faye regains conscience and sees what she has done. She runs away with guilt in her heart, retreating to Midgard. Sitting by a river reflecting on what she had done until Faye encounters Kratos.

    what's hard to believe for me is how faye and thor fight made more damage to the envirenment than kratos and thor fight ?

    • @Paradox-es3bl
      @Paradox-es3bl Год назад

      Kratos holds back a lot more these days? He technically uses his Spartan Rage from time to time... but he isn't usually actually pissed nor trying to kill. Look how many chances he gave Heimdall. Like, at least 3? And he got WAY more pissed in that fight, eventually.

    • @daverock9091
      @daverock9091 Год назад

      @@Paradox-es3bl thats the annoying part for me ...we already understand he wants to change in gow 2018 ragnarok was supposed to be a bloody war a dooms day for the norse myth and kratos is holding back ? Atleast give him a reason to justify his rage like if atreus got hurt badly or just make him lose his control its hard to see that much change in a person from all that anger before to this peaceful god now i mean am not against it its their choice to go with that story but atleast let me see that raging kratos a bit atleast the fight with thor shouldve been a bloody hell in asgard its buffeling to me that faye and thor had a more chaotic fight than kratos and thor .

  • @AaronBiswas

    What if faye vs thor was the reason why Faye died? She succumbed to her injuries.
