Thanks! It works perfectly. My car W203 220 CDI was shifting dramatically bad, probably due to having to drive some time in the emergency run mode. So, after the repair of the turbo, the particulate filter and all related parts it was slow and shifting seemed random. I didn't recognize my old buddy anymore. But after your reset method, it is back again, running and shifting smoothly and timely, and accelerating and driving as fast as it used to do. Great!
Worked for me today thanks for the video advice I would like to ask how long this resolves it for or do you have to literally do this everytime go to drive I’m thinking this could be a sensor or a relay in the electrics faulting the gearbox?
@@WilliamArthey in theory should only be needed to be done once then the car learns your driving style all this process is doing is resetting the gearbox ecu back to day 1 settings where the vehicle then learns driving patterns etc, hope this helps and I’m not a professional or expert I’m just letting you know what I think the car does 👍🏽

You can leave the key in, door open, and go for a walk in the last part. We tried it today and fixed mums merc. Has it fixed your trans permanently? If not, the next thing to look at, is the trans circuit board. I read elsewhere they are only around $100. If it's still an issue, it could be the solenoids in the trans. Cheers.
Did u end up changing the solonoid valve thing? My car is giving an error in the transmission and tells me of the solonoid calve Y3 8y4 (k3 as an error does it mean it's not gonna work until i get the Valve?

I have found one in ebay, but just one number is not matching. would that work in my car? The only difference is: mine has 03W10 the nearest ones found on ebay are 03W01 and 03W11 All the rest are the same. Would this work?
Does this method work because the computer is sensing the petal being pushed to the floor or because the button under the petal is activated? Dont forget that some petals have a fake button with no wire going to it so in this case what you are doing will not work. Some or all C230's have a fake button.

Most likely problem with gearbox. Try reset procedure and when you go to move to D press the brake slightly harder and pull lever towards you slightly then go to D, if that fails get garage to check it

I instructed one to change the fluid and replace the original 13 pin connector. He said that it didn't help. I made him watch while I did the reset and then took him for a drive. That was over 2 years ago and no problems since. Instead of a $2500+ repair it was fixed for $150. I wonder how many Mercedes owners shelled out that money or just got rid of the car when it was actually a cheap fix?

Jimmy Junior my car was fine after I emptied the cat converter we took it off, broke the net, removed the content and placed it back on, I had no warning lights etc come up but cannot guarantee for your car

@@antoniosanchez3195 I reprogrammed my ECM. Also had a steering lock problem. A gear was fuxked up. I got to the steering lock and fixed it. Cost me $1. Also got a new gear shifter from the same year and same station wagon. Cost me $14 from LKQ junk yard.

(!still no display) but then it limp modes and wont rev past3000! Pull over leave it half hour start up displays fine and changes through gears no probs!!! Ive parked it and gone for a beer😊😊😁any thoughts?! (About the car😅)🙏👍👍

There are no official times for this procedure as there is not a single Mercedes document or owners manual which recommends this. It’s amazing how many people find that their cars run much better after doing this considering you are not actually doing anything. The 722.xx automatic transmission adapts to your driving style and changes the shift points continually so why would you want to ‘reset’ it? 🙄
@@jaimemaciel1072 try replacing the gear shifter if your gear is stuck in park also try using a hammer to knock it out of park and once you get it off of park leave it in neutral and use your parking brakes good luck

Works like a charm...every 2 months. Keeps the transmission running smooth.
It won't fix the problem permanently until replacing the MAF.
I won’t lie, this actually worked first try u really gotta wait till the light goes out for it to reset but it will get u through the gears

aim6mac it doesn't make a difference I take the key out lock doors unlock doors whilst sat in the car just to ensure ecu definitely reset itself

Check your transmission fluid. It could be low, if it is put some in and then try this.

My Mercedes doesn’t get out of first gear. Then I can’t move shifter out of neutral. I have to turn the car off to move shifter to Park.

perform this service change trans oil once a year add AFT to trans oil on high mileage you are good to go
