- Here's a super versatile chironomid bomber pattern. The bomber chronies tend to come in fewer colours then the little guys. This pattern covers a few of those colours in one. Depending on the light and angle your looking at it you'll see brown, dark brown, olive, dark olive and even a golden brown. Give this one a try it won't disappoint!

Something I've been doing when tying bigger chronies is to leave the unistretch gill tied down about 1/2 the shank, to add a bit more underbody for the upper taper of the fly. Sort of John Kent style but with the bigger bead size, it can still go over the materials.
Looks Great Brandyn I love that opal tinsel it’s made it was into quite a few patterns lately thanks for sharing
Cam Black it really is great stuff! Thanks for watching!
This pattern can be tied with holographic chartreuse instead of opal-t as an option providing similar property's in variation.
I did try the opal version. I like it better.
I noticed you put the bead on with the open end at the hook eye
Was that intended?
Stephen Ryde it is yes. I've always tied my chronies this way. Having a gradual slope to build my thorax on is easier and when you get to tying a size 16 scud hook it helps to allow the bead to slip over the gill tie in. Thanks for watching!
What bobbin are you using?
Please, for the love of god, put a materials list at some point in your videos. it would be very helpful and appreciated. Like your video's none the less!
Jason Mulder I am very clear during the video what materials are being used. Your welcome to grab a pen and paper and make your own list.
