With the original ribbing material already impossible to find, and VHS tape becoming harder to source (especially in the right glossy black colour) this neat little Window Tint pornomid variant is the cats meow! Side by side with the original you'd have a hard time telling it apart! And the beauty of it is that with our Window Tint capes (1mm Dark for this particular pattern) tying the Window Washer is a breeze!

When winding the rib why not turn the vice instead so you twisted rib stays twisted?
Either way works, just personal preference ...
bought the last 10 packs of red crystal flash from gun fishen, 2 years ago, but they stay make the pink color, and tied over vhs tape i found no difference in fish hook ups from red flash.
Is that the light color window tint you are using, cheers

What are you using to cut strips? Seems like a special tool for it is hard to find?

I can send you a half spool of VHS tape if you want it. I had to search the house for an old tape. Blues Brothers.
Thanks, but ever since we've found the pre cut WT it's hard to go back to trying to cut the VHS ;)
@@BCFlyguys I get that. Tried using a rotary cutter but to no avail. I will get some prepackaged material and save the aggravation.
I'll send anther reel.. also the off cuts from cbc/nfb sound reels (brown/mahogany ) kept that stuff for well over 30yrs.. now too brittle ..
