I also open up about a personal story - losing my father when I was young and the importance he placed on family holidays. This inspired me to cherish every moment with my own young family and ensure we make time for each other despite life's challenges.

Great to see you took the time out and had a great family holiday. My father worked long hard hours to pay off farm's he bought and keep food on the table for big family, he never got a family holiday.

Some of the best vacations I spent was just setting up a tent on the farm, our parents would camp with us, we'd have campfires and games. For people who can't afford to fly their family to a vacation spot, just a tent and good times will be remembered as much. It's the quality time spent that kids will remember.

The other thing is that it cost you nothing to get it away as he came right to your door to collect it so no cost there, they grow up so fast and they will soon enough not want to go with you on Holiday life is short so make sure you stick too your holiday promise, good luck at the Big Boy sale hope that works out for you Lamb's are looking strong enough, Robbie must be a good help for the crack if nothing else its a hard old job when your working away yourself all day long, enjoyed your video, good luck to you

17:17 The weather here in SW Scotland has been awful. The grass isn't great either, but at least our ponies don't have laminitis.
Wool prices are sad. (Part of the reason I raise hair sheep here in the USA) It is similar to what happens here with our scrap metal. We get a price for gathering it up and getting it there, but not much. Still it is gone and I no longer have to look at it. I feel like they are paying me a bit for my trash.
Interesting. 15cents for lowland and 5 for hill sheep last Yr. Here in donegal. Half way through shearing mine. Flock of Pbnr kerryhill and flock of hampshire with a few x between them. Keep topping it. Harrowed mine which helps as I don't throw much till at it

Bracken is the pain on my land, difficult to get rid of if you top it like you could with the thistles then the braken stem kills the grass around it 🤔
It’s a tricky year for grass I think not enough sunshine & warmth, It’s July and some of the days feel more like October/November.

Great video. What do you think the hogget trade will be like this year? Everyone seems to be cutting back on numbers. Sometimes buying ewe lambs seems like the way forward. Hard to know.
