Myself and my 2 boys were disappointed you weren’t at the ploughing this year Adrian, i think every influencer in Ireland was there lapping up the attention! But i have to give you the full respect as while others were posting photos with companies and selling there merch you posted a video of how happy you were that your calves were better and were out at your work as normal. Watching you here working on this old cottage I’m reminded of My Father’s attitude towards building work; “near enough is good enough”.
Adrian, another way of thinking, the cottage was there before your dad was born, possibly even before your great grandparents. With it being local to you, it is, in it's own way, a part of your familiy's history. It's easy to just replace, an excavator would have it away in half a day, but that cottage has heart, no new modern dwelling will ever replace the history. Great work, as always 😁😁😁

Adrian being half Irish I so remember cottages like yours when we came back to Ireland every couple of years. Unfortunately a lot of them went to rack & ruin and I'm so glad you're fixing it up for future generations. You've done a grand job 🎉🎉🎉
A job well worth doing. Whilst the coat of paint does nothing for being able to live in the house, it most certainly makes you want to live in it! Sinead saying that it "looks happy" is a perfect description. It probably is quite excited too that it knows that it will have further improvements done to it. Somehow, that coat of paint has put the soul back in the house. Of course, the filling of the cracks and the new gutters actually do a lot for the preservation of the house.

The paint made a great change to the cottage. It is very happy looking now great to see it being looked after it has a lot of memories in its time for them that lived there

Wow what a big difference you have made to the little cottage. When I see how great it looks and hear you say it will need a 90% rebuild I can hardly believe it when I see the work you have done on the frontage. A full rebuild wouldn’t have the same character.
My admiration for you shows no bounds, such a practical guy who just sees a job that needs doing and gets on with it, not only that but every task that I have seen you do turns out excellently, well done, keep up the good work.

Adrian, we in South Africa often do the same with old old houses. It is a fantastic undertaking and gives a person so much pleasure to see the wonderful transformation of any structure being renovated. I have done the same to two very dilapidated houses. This is a wonderful endeavor sir and your videos give thousands of people much viewing pleasure.

I’ve been in building all my life. But decided to build my own home 2 hours from the nearest city.
I’m using salvage materials.
Well the first year I made mistake after mistake cause of all the new challenges you face. But at the end of the day I’m winning now.
Second thing is to build a home keeping in mind what has made you happy in the past.
Yes we’re the same vintage.

The only thing you may need to do before the weather turns.. is get over tht old roof with some long roofing bolts. If you get some bad winds, that roof will be off.

A very nice change to the look of the old place, Im firmly in the preserve camp myself as I believe that far too much of the rural history has been replaced by bland looking modern houses in recent times.

I'm in the "preserve it" camp too. But one thing that I would do is replace the modern looking UPVC doors with more traditional-looking wood ones. Adam has said that he will do this eventually and I'm sure it will look better if/when he does.

2 in the same condition others a bit better they need maintenance to keep them from going derelict a lot of work
All the houses have history one was built on a mass path apparently they could never keep a pain of glass in the gable always breaking.good to see you in good spirits I enjoy the videos
