OMG! This audience is absolutely wild!
I've never known a reaction like it for this show and especially in the middle of the show in this number.
This has to be the closing night yes?
Also the amount of cast members doing the various sections of this dance is AWESOME I've never known it to happen like this and include characters that don't normally perform in certain sections. Its fantastic!
Thank goodness someone captured it (Though I would have preferred a wider filmed perspective from the princess Louise onwards, but that's just me being picky 😉) Thanks for sharing it with us it's an absolute joy to behold! 💖💖💖💖🥰😃

Vienna audiences are always a little more enthusiastic about their cast than in any other cities haha.
It wasn't closing night but the last performance of that particular cast. After a summer break, the show ran for a few more months before it closed for good after seven years including summer shows in Berlin East and Moscow.
Vienna had more characters than other versions of Cats as they had extra Bill Bailey, Carbucketty and Quaxo next to principal Tumblebrutus, Pouncival and Mistoffelees roles so they could fill the ball and all the other dance scenes with more dancers.

@@chrissi2810 It reminded me of the 1st UK , they seemed to have a really BIG cast compared to subsequent later tours after. The response and the way the cast seemed to be feeding off that energy was remarkable! I'd've loved to have been sat there watching this live. It really is special. I just love how it builds though choreographically. Was it always like that do you know, or was this done especially for this final casts performance?
