    지금 is a Sino-Korean word 只今 (right now, only now), from 只 (only) + 今 (now).

    Thank you for this explanation! It helped a lot. I was also able to find an equivalence of this concept in Urdu where “ab” is slightly similar to 이제 and “abhi” would be similar to 지금. Urdu is a SOV language similar to Korean as well so sometimes it’s easier to find an Urdu equivalent. Anyway, thanks so much !

      This is a quick explanation. 상황 means situation and 상태 means condition!

    Hello Minji.
    I’ve seen you show about 민지가 이제 책을 읽고 있어요. But I’ve read a Korean grammar in use for beginner. It is written that 이제 cannot be used with the present progressive form of verbs - 고 있다. What is difference? Could you explain?
    Another point is 자, 지금 일합시다 and 자, 이제 일합시다.

    i know this series is A vs B but is there any chance you could explain the difference between 3 words? 바로 vs 딱 vs 꼭. I know their basic usages and differences but I still see them used all the time in what seems like incorrect or overlapping ways so I have a hard time fully understanding them. Thank you!

      적응하다 means to get used to something and 익숙하다 means to be familiar with :)

      항상 : close to All the time

      you can use any word. these are almost same.

      We never use 이제 in the context as you are not something yet. We use 아직 (yet) or 지금 (now) in the context.

      현재 is not commonly used in daily conversations. 현재 means the present and is usually used in documents.
