When I was a lad (66 now) I made a Nichimo 1/30 tiger 1 , I’m sure I remember it having two motors one for each track, so you could actually steer it with the wired remote control. I loved it to bits!

These kits seemed to have many variations so you're probably remembering correctly. And Dad says at 66, you're still quite young. 😀 Thanks for commenting!

I never got the chance to build one of these Nichimo 1/30 scale kits, but they look pretty good from your video. It looks like you even get a few figures, which is a very big help if you want to build a nostalgic diorama (in the School of Shep Paine) from this kit, but it would require a lot of scratch building to make in-scale accessories - just like back in the day!
Though in the late 20th and early 21st Centuries, 1/35th would emerge as the final victor in the Armor Scale Wars; a lot of fun is to be had building the remaining 1/30th, 1/32nd, and 1/40th scale vintage kits still to be found at swap meets.
    Thanks for sharing this!

I think it's very interesting how the scales and model details have evolved over the years. We always appreciate your insights.❤

These old kits are great. Awesome box art that jumps out at you. It made you want to buy the kit. I remember some early Japanese kits had only a printed sheet of numbered steps for the English instructions. The pictured instructions were all in Japanese. This kit was 1,000 yen back then; probably $ 10 USD. The Japanese companies produced and odd set of scales for armour (1/21, 1/30, 1/50) until Tamiya standardised it to 1/35. Thanks for sharing,

That is some GREAT BOX ART…
    Never built a NICHIMO KIT…
1/30 scale is a odd scale
Won’t be compatible with anything else, 1/32 maybe…
When I watch your channel, I go to €Bay and see if I can find the kits you’re featuring in the video…
See if I can find any being sold or what the asking prices are
    Just curious ?????
    Always enjoy this channel….

Nichimo battle ship model is more better than Tank model ,I build up many 1/200 scale ship model like the Yamato battle ship ,when finish build up it's so beautiful, The Tank model is not so good because some of the parts scale is not match with other parts, sometimes it need to correct the parts shape to fit into the model.
Tamiya's Tank model is the best.

@@raymondchiu3094 Raymond> I have seen some of those 1/200 kits built. They do look good. I always wanted the 1/200 Yamato. Today they are very expensive. I have been told that the 1/200 Shinano takes some hard work to get it correct. I built some of the smaller Nichimo aircraft kits many years ago. And I agree Tamiya tanks and armour models are the best. I have many of them.

@garfieldsmith332 You're right, Today the Nichimo battle ship model is rare, mostly I bought these model in the period of 1970 to1974 ,
half of the Century,so it's so expensive. Now the Tumpet
Company from China provides many 1/200 battle ship model, the price is not
      expensive.

When making a video, please focus on individual sprues for a few seconds, leaving enough time for people to freeze on the view and examine it.
