This is not music. Music is too small a word for it. The aspiration of any great art is to connect man to his meaning. Through the contrivance of pleasingly interconnected sounds (music), this work speaks a Bible as to man's place in the universe. This work, and this particular interpretation, constitute one of the crowning achievements of humanity...music that goes beyond music to link man with the infinite.
My favorite spot is 4:05 where the subject enteres in F major -in stretto- one of those magical Bach moments. Brilliant registration and perfect tempo by Richter.
Questa immagine iniziali di sfondo mi fanno pensare al mistero della natura, lo stesso mistero che avvolge le impagabili intrepretazionei del grande Karl! Complimenti per il video.
@BAxitorCH, He lets Bach live on through his own lifeforce. That's what a real musician does. Breathing that fresh air into the very fabric of the music itself.
One can also hear, when the instrument are ‘intermitt.’out of pitch, as if there was a tremolo engaged… Due to lack of what Bach himself commented, that he tested the ’lungs’ of the organ..
Yes there is. You can buy this exact recording. Just search ‘Karl Richter’ in the Apple iTunes Store. The album is titled ‘Bach: Organ Works,” published in 2005. I bought the album a few years ago myself. I love listening to it on car rides.
What a glorius fugue. Though difficulto hear a half-step higher. 7:02 -Nice try withhe pedal trill athend of the fugue subject. Buturning off the 16-foot pedal reed makes no sense. The WHOLE NOTE pedal trill is TOO long. Thank you, advisor, for posting this and the wonderful pictures of Karl.

the selection of stops that Karl Richter used was just fabulous, it was as if it was a symphony!

Like an organ symphony in two movements... Wonderful.
yes, this interpretation of the "dorian" fugue is one of the best...
If not the absolute best

Richter knows how to bring out the magnificence and majesty of the music❤.
Interpretazione così intima e così grandiosa al tempo stesso. Bravo!
Il più grande organista di tutti i tempi. Grazie Maestro❣
The disciple of Bach and the master of the Silbermann organ, Doktor Richter is greatly missed by all organist who aspired to play with spirit.

I'm glad he let me use them.
@1963mathetes : On that note one could see the C major Toccata as a symphony.
Danke! =D
In Bach’s music, one can hear in advance when He is about to bring som oramentation to his music..
