Unable to communicate how much I LOVE these videos. They've turned me on to so much great music over the years. I'm a 64 yr-old music collector that's accumulated over 2500 LPs, 4000 CDs, and assorted cassettes, 45rpm singles since I first started collecting in 1980. Have everything from Mozart to 1920's Duke Ellington to Sinatra to Chuck Berry to The Sex Pistols to Nigerian folk songs to something new I just heard yesterday, Charli XCX's new album Brat (love the single "360"). But there's ALWAYS new stuff to hear and appreciate, which for a music lover is both a gift and a curse, because you never get caught up.
I love that Irish expression ´that would be class’, a buddy of mine from Belfast who I played music with used to say that. Good band by the way, interesting picks too.
3 superb albums in 3 years. Well done fellas! Thanks for creating some amazing music and sharing it with the world. Solid fuckin' choices too: Cowboy Junkies, Marty Robbins, NIN, Pixies; all superb choices.
Saw them for the third time within 3 months two days ago. They are the best band in the world right now and class lads on top of that. Go and see them live if you ever get the chance.
Yeah, agreed. My first time seeing them, they were on a bill with Idles. This was several years ago. That is about as epic a lineup as you're going to see right there.
They are good, but the best noiserock/postpunk band of our times are Die Nerven. English speaking people are just not listening, because they don't sing in english... it's simple as that
First album is there best .....I was at one of there first gigs in a small venue called mike the pies and they were support that night ...three albums since they are massive ...first album is still there best
Really cool pickups and choices from these guys, get excited whenever I see Cowboy Junkies or Marty Robbins brought up. Beach Boys and Little Simz also great choices. Definitely gonna have to give these guys a listen. Nobody talks about Townes Van Zant either, another really cool reference.
I wish I could bond with my friends about music in this way, Connor saying about NIN being the song that showed it was ''less about tribalism, more about feeling'' hit hard
@@primateboogaloo I liked her as an actress in top boy that was a very good British series. But her music is not for me. Maybe it’s the vocals they give me a headache. Maybe she is a good lyricist but I feel like I’m being threatened when I hear her vocals lol.
Seeing them in oct in pittsburgh, Im SO excited. Did they play any stuff from their last two albums by any chance? (Skinty might be my new favorite though, each album seems to get better and be more diverse)
@@organizedmessoffical3838 yeah! They played televised mind, lucid dream, boys in the better land, a hero’s death etc.and their set wasn’t even that long because it was at a festival so if you see them in concert I’m sure they’ll play more songs other than the ones on skinty x
Many great choices between the Pixies, A Place To Bury Strangers, Nine Inch Nails and the "C'est Chic !" compilation (👋from🇨🇵), but first and foremost : ❤Trish (RIP)
@ superdeluxesmell Because Canada has a lot of artists who are rightly celebrated here but are virtually unknown anywhere else. I’d be just as surprised if someone pulled out a Tragically Hip record at Amoeba but they are a cultural phenomenon. This is more like seeing someone pull out a Lowest of the Low record
Go easy with the ringing in your ears friend, they've got to last you a lifetime. Good selection, nice to hear Townes van Zandt's name being kept alive
@@dreat5665lol that's total B.S.Get a grip. Idles have lead the resurgence of rock since they came on the scene.FDC has had one decent album, their 2nd whereas every Idles album has been exciting & solid.
the guys with sunglasses is super cool. met a couple of time. and he got an incredible music taste! as soundcheck they play "revolution" by spacemen 3. and seeing him choosing broadcast, the french compilation (he should get the other 2 the same label released if he doesn't have them already), it proves again his great music taste. hope to meet him around soon. OUR DAY WILL COME!
Can't wait for Amoeba to invite me over one day, what's in you bag John?? Loads your toilet roll, soap, framed Dylan poster found on the wall there, cash drawer 😋
@Steve make up your mind man, shite, brilliant, shite oh wait … brilliant, mostly bollocks you are talking son. The selections the lads picked I’m half in love with already and the other half never would know only for them, gorgeous shit, so , just like their own original output- half familiar and the rest mind blowing. Up The Fia!! ❤😎🎃👊🏼💀👌🏻
You really need to watch This Years Model….it went on and 35 years it hasn’t shut off. Dolittle right up there. I’ll have to check that French comp and a couple others.
I hope the band tuned into the Rex Allen radio station on the way through Willcox on I-10 heading towards Tucson... and the fabulous Norteno radio stations... Great show in Tucson this week! So lucky for us to have a show! They even brought the rain... a blessing for us.
Jonathan Byers has a great music taste.
I usually watch these for discovery but all of these picks slap
Love these diverse picks !!!

Best band on the planet
It's weird what hits you. I recently heard The Shangri-Las "Past, Present, Future" and it blew me away, even shocked me as a metalhead.
String choices 🔥
Very cool
Never thought anyone else would mention harry Nielson or "The Point"
Jonathan byers?
Little simps
Zzzzzzzzzzz. Sorry, fell asleep there.

Much love for Broadcast. Incredible band 🙏💛

Feel the same way man!! You’re not alone!
Drummer has such a big Irish head on him.
What an eclectic mix of music that is. These boys will be a round for a fair while - I reckon.

The more I see and hear of this band the more I love them.
A Place To Bury Strangers! Great pick by Conor, they're a really underrated band, a singular live experience, and his 666 necklace, I want that!
That Bill Withers- Live at Carnegie Hall is amazing. The track, World Keeps Going Around is so good.
Only other live album that comes close is Ray Charles 'Live' album
So natural and they love music. They are best band around these days and the most laid back and decent.
so serious, very very serious business choosing music, yes we take it incredibly seriously
The Drummer in the middle is refreshing. Actually smiles and shows some expression when talking about albums he loves.
