It's always good to hear about you guys (: So happy that you've been enjoying Buenos Aires, with all the ups and downs that it has.
The things you guys said here are pretty much spot on, and it also show that you've made your research and try to inform as best as possible to possible newcomers :)
It's also fantastic that you are visiting other provinces soon! Argentina is a huge country, and every province has their own beauty

Great video! I shall be on holiday in Buenos Aires from 17 March to 2 April with an excursion to Usaia in the middle. This will be my third time in Argentina. However, my previous visits were decades ago. I found it very hard to get vegetarian food. However, I've heard that the vegetarian/vegan situation in BA has improved. I'm concerned about the hassle of obtaining the blue rate for US$. I don't want to queue at Western Union every other day.

If you want H&M, get a Buquebus Paquete for a weekend in Uruguay (pay using Dolar Blue cash) and visit the Punta Carretas shopping mall. You can get the 22% VAT off as a tourist in Uruguay. And you can also pick up USD cash from Uruguay's Banco Republica at the real USD rate.

the international parameter taken to measure security of countries is the homicide rate/100K.
Argentina (4.5%) and Chile (3.5%) r the safest in whole America, after Canada (2.1%) and obviously safer than US (5.5%)
even more, Buenos Aires, with 3.5%, is the second safest capital in America, after Ottawa (Canada).
This parameter (homicide rate/100K) was adopted since the number of thefts is easily manipulated, many reports of thefts r false, trying to get money from insurers and other thefts aren't reported because they're unregistered goods.
The only thing that can be expected, regarding insecurity in Buenos AIres, r pickpockets, as in every megalopolis in the world: New York-Paris or London, you gotta keep in mind you shoudn't be so stupid as not to be careful about goodies in public places, in these megalopolises, such as New York-Paris or London, more than 10M people r circulating each day....

    • @aleks_digitalnomad
      @aleks_digitalnomad  2 года назад +1

Judging only by the number of murders is wrong. In a lot of countries to meet a man on a motorcycle with a weapon is nonsense. In Buenos Aires, there are thousands of such cases every year. These are statistics from the official website of Buenos Aires. But once again, in a huge number of countries you will not meet a person with a gun and threats of violence when stealing. And the rate of murders per 100k of the population in many countries rises because of domestic conflicts and alcoholism, and not because of the danger on the street.

@@aleks_digitalnomad Official homicides/100K data is provided by the United Nations (UNODC),
the majority of homicides in Argentina r also due to neighborhood/family conflicts, and especially femicides (due to love relationships),
Regarding "motochorros", u r taking insignificant cases in relation to the population of this megalopolis (18M), as if it were the exclusive cause of homicides in the city, and that's false.
"The major causes of intentional homicides in the City were in "fight" or "revenge" and represent 54.37% of the total. There were 56 cases.
In 2021, there were 9 homicides on the occasion of robbery, representing only 8.73% of the total.
Femicides were 15 and represented 14.56% of the total homicides".
the only serious problem in the country is Rosario, the country's second metropolis, for drug trafficking issues, and it;s confined only to that region, even more so, without that big problem, Rosario, Argentina's numbers would be the best in America, after Canada.
      now those rates r:
      Canada 2,1%
      Chile 3,5%
      Argentina 4,6%

We say that there are not many popular brands here that usually put their big stores around the world.
And we said that here the seasons are in reverse order compared to the northern hemisphere. We didn't say that the northern hemisphere had the right seasons. And where it was compared with year-round warm seasons, then places like Bali fit this example, where it is warm all year round, and the seasons change rather to wet and dry.
