I feel like there are a lot of players who dont even realize there are vehicle variants honestly And the next vehicle I wanna see is the light tank variants
Amazing video, very informative. Overall I prefer the Heavy Assault variant because most gunners don't even stick around once they spawn and the Smokescreen is super valuable for covering your retreat when a gang of Assault descends on you.
TheCyclone911 with this qualtity and details yes, I find these videos to be like someonething a guy with a couple of hundres thousand or 1-2 million subs would do. I guess he started yt a bit late..
Please cover the light tank - the variants are really confusing. Also I used the assault half the time and the flame the rest, but thanks to the video I’ll start using the breakthrough
From playing personally, the Flanker model trades the main gun for a 20mm auto-cannon that has some sort of AP and Canister shot, it's really only good for annoying enemy vehicles and picking on infantry. The Howitzer armed version is good against buildings, infantry and can be against vehicles but the inability to have a turret, slow shell speed, and such mean that it's much less viable. Really, just take the basic Close Support model, it has a 37mm cannon that can hurt enemy tanks effectively, a coaxial machine gun for anti-infantry, and even better can deploy those amazing resupply boxes to help your team.
the howitzer is best for anti tanking, but the main gun really sucks against infantry. instead the mmg the close support has, the howitzer has hmg for better anti infantry.
MasterCookerR6 the breakthrough tank is less effective against infantry. I'm pretty sure its a 2 shot kill with the main cannon and the canister blast. it is very good against armor but for infantry its not that great. use assault tank if you have the dlc. the spotting tank is the best imo.
Standard operating procedure for A7V: guy spawns in, uses it as a mobile artillery piece, allies spawn in, get HMGs that they'll never use, or even see the enemy. Exception is usually the flamethrower variant.
Damn you went digging through website code for a video about the variants of a type of tank in BF1? Talk about dedication! No wonder your videos are such high quality, keep it up!
Yes, I like breakthrough variant same as you. Because it’s has two side cannon guns helping team to destroy armor vehicles, especially when 1 vs 1 with an enemy tank. It’s very helpful.
From the Heavy tank I think the breaktrough is the best, but I have most fun in the Flamethrower one - but, only on Amiens (as you pointed out). Since I usually play with at least two other friends we usually go with Landship though - and for the most part the Anti Tank variant, the emergency repair nerf sucked but it was understandable and the cannons are so much better, both vs infantry and vehicles and the AT rifles are still hilarious, so fun to outsnipe someone when driving - or potshot those Assults laying 100m away thinking they are safe.
+jobbbigt it's a shame that the AT rifle for the driver is so inaccurate. It really makes infantry a weakness. But wrecking other tanks in it is super fun!
IMHO most of the playerbase dont even know about different versions of vehicles. They mostly run as infantry and dont bothered at anything else. Whenever they can spawn vehicle - they just choose vehi icon and smash "deploy" button to spawn ASAP, for vehicle not being overtaken by anyone else. They commonly jump out of vehi after being moderate damaged, surrounded or simply immobilized with vehicle hp left, which sometime leads to their kit and vehi being captured by enemy team. In the other hand - there are few so called tryhards. They play mostly on vehicles, have highest K/D (but not the overall score) on scoreboard and you can easily identify them being in dead state for minutes, always waiting on spawn screen for free vehi slot. They use only that vehicle types, which most effective to farm infantry kills or allow to do it from most safe locations. Their favourites are standart Artillery Truck, all FT-17`s (effective self-sufficient one man army) or standart 57mm HE A7V, standart St. Chamond (they both have comfortable anti-inf guns for the driver and very durable, rickochety + fast emergency repair). They rarely push forwards, capture flags, more often camp behind infantry or even on the edges/highlands (Empire`s Edge anyone?) of the map. You will almost never see them on AA/mortar Art. Truck, ugly-Truck (Putilov) bcz of low farming potential and any Mk. 5 variants bcz of powerfull guns not on driver seat and good teamwork needed. Whenever they take atleast mediocre damage, they always fall back for closest cover and repair or just ride away (when they followed by agressive vehi - they run right to the spawn area). More rarely you can see their friends rapair-bots jump after the first damage and stay behind them all the time - atleast some kind of tw. They are very agressive in chat when you comment stopping their killstreaks with superior specified vehi type (AT-tanks or planes) or simpe infantry weapons, sometimes even leave the servers. The last category is simple experienced players. They take or the vehicle type which they overall most comfortable with or most suitable for concrete situation (e.g. enemy dominate with vehicles - choose AT/AP tanks/planes or AA`s [not camping on spawn AA`s (!) ], hard flag push needed - flamer A7V or pigeon Chamond etc.). P.S. all writen here is or my personal and friends BF experience, or judgments after seeing random BF streams. P.S.2 sorry for my english, it may look somewhat awkward. P.S.3 it will be interesting to see, what author can say in Mk. 5 video, because all their variants specified and can be even better visually identified unlike A7V`s. Personal request of Mk.5 anti-granade nets tests. Does it takes lower damage on top?
Heavy breakthrough tank is such a beast and is near invincible when you have competent gunners that can jump out and repair if shit is going tits up, great video 👍🏻
This was a very thorough video and one that I wish that was never made! Great job. I loved damage values and rounds to kill on both infantry and the various types of armor. Of the three variants I use the breakthrough tank as my primary tank for the same reasons you mentioned: to deny the enemy team armor and to provide an incredible boost to the team at critical chokepoints or areas of action. If I keep the team up and running I don't have to worry about dealing with infantry. My only problem is that it carries two less people than the assault tank so it can get clogged up with dumb blueberries which prevent me from being used as a mobile spawn point. Regarding your comment about the case shell - it was overpowered at one point not because of the damage but because the shells came out from somewhere other than the cannon in third person, allowing you to shoot over hills and walls and kill someone through cover if the camera could point down at them. There was also a bug for a few weeks during the Lupkow update in which the case shells did no damage which made the breakthrough useless against infantry. From my personal experience with heavy tanks, assault tanks are the more 'popular' maybe because people don't know about customizing the tanks. For those that discover the different variants the more skilled tankers opt for the breakthrough tank, and those that are experimenting play around with the flamethrower. I rarely notice the flamethrower tank being used against me. I get called a hacker on occasion using the AT shells due to that extra '5' damage against armor. My final thoughts of the (breakthrough) tank: always spam 4, shoot armor, and practice shooting down planes. ..It would seem that this tank has brought me up beyond #60 on the PC leaderboards for healing and has kept me within the top 100 for accuracy with that case shell. The A7V is generally overrated but is almost never used to its fullest potential and a skilled crew can turn the tide of a game. The only piece of equipment even more powerful against armor is the Tank Hunter Landship (nerf T-gewer pls) but it sacrifices the armor, has vulnerable tracks, and cannot help the team push with heals and ammo.
Great video, shame about the inavailability of type-stats. I run with the heavy breakthrough variant all the time due to it's good anti-materiel attributes. If you could do a run-down of the aircraft (fighter) variants, that would be so cool, as when they made the patches back in May on the Dogfighter. it seems like those incendiary rounds they added are so weak and ineffective. Would be nice to see some test results! Keep up the good work, thanks for your epic content :)
yeah, I have not been all that impressed with the incendiary rounds either. I feel that the bomber killer with the rockets is a better choice if you really want to focus on taking down other planes while flying solo.
he either is really talented or has a hidden german past :D i was surprised to hear him pronounce "pistole" correctly in another video. neither "pistol" nor "pistolah". but pistole. he nailed the schwa.
Thank you so much rouge for this video. Been waiting since launch for something like it. You should do the landships or bombers. They are extremely powerful vehicles with interesting variants that people dont take advantage of as often as some other vehicles. I think it would be a really interesting video. Thanks again I really enjoyed watching!
The Breakthrough variant is a beast against any other armor (except the Char 2C of course). I once picked it on the defending side on Soissons Operations (where the attacking team gets to zerg rush with tanks, while the defenders only get one). I destroyed at least 5 enemy tanks before they finally managed to take mine out, it felt like a boss fight.
Flamethrower tank is awesome on Amiens and Prise de Tahure. Normally I avoid tanks in general and the A7V in particular, but it's always fun to start a barbecue on those maps.
One time I was in a support land shop and the tanker is to this day nearly 5 years later still the best I have ever seen. He would angle the landship in a way where I could shoot the tank and he could as well effectively making us a tank destroyer. The said tanker went 32-0 in a game where 20-7 was second best.
My personal favourite tank is the st chammond w/ the search light. It is basically a sniper tank and I use it like how the st chammond was actually used; as a mobile artillery platform. When necessary, I take flags too. Highly effective.
Me and my friends call the heavy tank the Spanish Inquisition for the reason that every uses the Heavy tank instead if they don’t use the Landship on Xbox so really everyone suspects it even when nobody expects it. We just really love Monty Python
*coughs* brb need to change a certain default loadout *cough* Phenomenal video as always, shame nobody is tracking the usage of specific vehicle types. Would love to see you go over the two-seater planes next!
I gotta say, the Breakthrough A7V tank is incredible. I love it to bits. While the AT shell can't handle Infantry as well, most of the time I'm only targeting single soldiers rather than bunched up groups. A well-placed shot will still rip a soldier to shreds and the canister shell does more than well enough. Not to mention, being a Support/Medic main, those ammo and health drops are the best of the secondary abilities in my opinion, haha.
Best tanks and their best variant in my opinion St. Chamond- The one that uses gas and mortar shells(excellent anti-infantry and decent anti tank capabilities); also has side skirts like the heavy to protect against critical hits on the tracks A7V- Heavy Breakthrough variant Does good in almost every situation, HE cannon look like crap on paper but are VERY useful and far superior option when you have competent and communicative crew mates The most underrated of all LandShip- Squad support I fuckin Love this thing man I’m not gonna tell you my strategy with this thing because I can turn conquest matches around in this thing with a competent squad backing me up Apply Campaign Black Bess skin for extra style points
Completely agree. Tanks' number 1 priority should be other tanks. With good gunners and proper infantry support, a tank should be nearly unstoppable. Breakthrough is hands down the best variant.
Hey rogue 9 I know this isn't about this video but In rainbow six I started doing my own testing on a single operator. I know this sounds so stupid and nerdy but I basically found every stat on Valkyrie's mpx. I was wonder if I could some how get you to see and maybe even critique my work. love your videos so much. Thanks
Bryce Rothschadl sorry I meant to put mpx stat but as well as Valkyries overall stats. Meaning that I did almost every situation where I can see the amount of time to add and shoot. This also allowed me to test other aspects of the character such as movement speed in general (running ,walking ,crouch walking ,prone movement) as well as movement from position to position (ex. prone to crouch). I do need someone else to do some of the others but those are only a couple. Have any more question hit me up and I'll be happy to explain
in some point you will get bored of using only one - best loadout for each tank so play with different loadouts make tank gameplay refreshing. Like i now "discovered" st chamonds gas loadouts with that richochet shell, oh its so much fun, like playing billiard :).
the gadgets are what the deciding factor: flamethrower for amiens and "normal" loadout with smoke for any big map. without the smoke youre an easy target for planes and that smoke gives you the chance to also escape from infantry targets. breakthrough tank needs good cogunners and they dont exist in bf1. back when the quick repair added 30hp, shit was ridicolous and 70+kills and 0 deaths were normal.
Speaking of the supply drops, you should try brusilov offensive as an assault truck dropping supplies to your allies to each Austro Hungarian position is extremely helpful and rewarding, plus it's a godsend to those on the first objective. Basically, use the assault truck as a supply runner.
If your previous conclusions are anything to go by in terms of weapon choice (namely your pistol and melee weapon videos); the Assault variant is the most popular because most players are too lazy / unaware of the choice in terms of unlocking and selecting the different loadouts. DICE could address this by providing Vehicle Loadout selection in the Soldier customization menu.
Great suggestion. Having to engage in a click competition to get a vehicle means that nobody ever has time to choose a different loadout that fits the map or the situation in that particular match. Also, what's the point in vehicle skins if you never have the time to apply them. Hiding the tank descriptions and customisation behind a menu that nobody can realistically get into is dumb
Taolan8472 on console you select the tank slot then you have the tank claimed while you choose what tank and variant to use Does it not work the same on pc?
The light tank is good in a group, my buddies and I call this thing the wolf pack tank for a reason you get one friend in the (I think) infantry support and one friend in the howitzer(of course you can pilot one of the tanks if you chose to) that’s a very good strategy
I personally dislike the tanks in general. Mostly see the basic variant around. Maybe the attack plane next? Like a tank- plane- tank- plane cycle? Either way, whichever you choose, I'll watch it. Great stuff as always. :D
I prefered the Breakthrough tank ever since I found out it's cannon does so much damage, AND it gets to help infantry a lot. It's basically the perfect tank to work with infantry, taking out armour and dropping supplies for surrounding infantry. My sole problem is almost no one gets on the guns.
The assault variant is the best all-rounder but for all rounders I prefer the field assault variant of the St. Chamond. That means that for the rest of the tanks I like to specialize: heavy tank flame thrower for cqb, artillery truck for anti-air, Russian truck anti-tank variant for solo anti-vehicle, tank hunter landship for squad anti-vehicle. I almost never use the light tank because it defeats the purpose of tanks as a mobile spawn point (even though I really like the power of the light howitzer variant)
Breakthrough / Assault, depending on mood, map, and enemies. I tend not to use the flamethrower tank, it can be useful but the tank isn't the most agile one (imagine the flamethrower on the little tank, that would be fun/painful)
I prefer to use the Breakthrough variant. Mostly because in my mind it's better when you're on maps with a heavy vehicle presents. It allows you to quite literally just get into the thick of it and stand a little bit more of a chance and even require you to do less maneuvering if you can avoid it. Because if you're using any of the other versions of the a7v and an enemy tank pops up on either side of you or heaven forbid behind you all you have is machine guns. The most common unit that I see in the matches though is the standard variant where it's the one main gun and the six machine guns. In fact I almost never see the Breakthrough variant. I actually would really like to hear your thoughts on the Ft 17. I like running around with the flanker variant. It can do fairly good against Vehicles if you're sneaky and in of course has the ability to deploy anti-tank mines.
Breakthrough is best. my personal experience finds that most ppl never stick around to man the MGs on the sides and rear since they're not really useful compared to them hopping out (especially vs tanks). the autocannons are very useful since they can break walls after a full clip, can damage tanks, and thus ppl often stick around for it. also, the supply drop is very helpful for the infantry. most ppl in asia run the standard Assault variant for the HE shell, but will switch to flamethrowers because it feels like a direct upgrade compared to Assault (flamethrower doesn't need to reload on the same pool as HE, and they deal more damage to infantry than MGs, and it's cooler). most ppl won't pick Breakthrough due to AP shells unable to frag infantry and thus terrible vs assault players who can quite easily harass them
Guarantee if they added the ability to change your tank loadout to the menus where your change your kit, people would be using something other than the assault variant.
I actually like the flamethrower heavy tank reason is that i can use the flames from the flamethrower to create a line of fire and use it as cover to escape.
You should do a video on the Putilov Garford Assault Truck. People don't understand how to use it properly and its quickly become one of my favourite vehicles since I've figured out how to use it well. Very fun and good for objective play!
i think you shuld test the new Y lighter landing craft (the MGs on them, becouse i think there is something broken with them. when i played the mgs 2shot infi and didnt have a damage drop-off, also it melts through the torpedo boats. *this was before the october patch so it might be fixed now...
I usually use the St. Chamond or the light tank, but if I do use the heavy tank I enjoy the breakthrough tank. It's best if you have at least one squadmate with you, though.
So, I hadn't run Cav ever until about two weeks ago, and it was then I learned, in addition to melee variants (you can be either a cavalier or lancer if you have In the Name of the Tsar) there are actually two different horse variants. Are there any differences, other than cosmetic, between the two?
I often find that the flamthrower tank is the best.... At least for me. More often than not people bail out so the passenger weapons don't really matter. I always engage vehicles at range and near cover if I have the chance. Since that's my main doctrine, I also engage infantry at range(as people spam AT grenades and limpet mines at close range). AT rounds won't be that effective at range against infantry since they're AT. A case shell is only effective at close range, and it uses the same ammo as the AT, which you may have to switch between on the fly. That might lead to an ammo shortage in which you don't have enough shells to take care of a threat. Now you should possibly see why I like the flamthrower. It's effective at killing vehicles and infantry with it's main cannon, secondary weapon doesn't use the same ammo as the primary, and the flamethrower is effective at killing infantry, and to a lesser extent, vehicles. It's also really great at surprise rushes.
Im a beast with the flamethrower tank. The primary shell has a better splash dmg eith explosive effect that makes all splash dmg shots a single shot. I dont use the flames too often but i do drop the gas often on enemy objs.
Personally I rarely use the A7V because of the same reason I never use the hellreigel, it's veeeery overused and seemingly overrated by alot of players... and of course this induces rather alot of salt production in my mind, heart and body. That being said, the breakthrough variant is an interesting niche and I've come to prefer it more than other specialised anti tank vehicles like the tank hunter landship. Oh and I'd love to get a professional rouge-9 review of the assault truck from the Tsar dlc
John Monroe Different weapons are spammed on different platforms, for example automaticos are much rarer on console than on pc, the hellreigel is spammed so bad on console and the model 10-A hunter is just obscene. Oh and the hellreigel isn't op its just incredibly easy to use, boring and overused
John Monroe Yeah that's totally irrelevant to my point, I'm complaining that it's overused and boring. So yeah I'd love to see more people using different weapons more like the mp18, personally the ribeyrolles is my fave. And its very easy to do just as well with tons of other weapons, people just disregard them because they're not so easy to use
I think the criticism of the Flamethrower Heavy Tank are kinda missing the point - How often is a tank 100% full of people? almost never! Usually there are just ~3 people in a tank. Thus it makes more sense to use the flamethrower tank (imo) since the gunners can CHOOSE between weapon types.
want to see the new video entitled by What's the best light tank variant afterthat could you please do so on planes ? this type of videos helps to play ahead againts people and that's what makes the difference between a good player and an "educated" player :) cheers
For tanks, I'd say my favorite is the St. Chamond Assault Tank, as it has good armor and fast speed, followed by the Landship due to it's versatility. Then I would go with the Light Tank, due to it's smaller size and decent speed. I'd then say the Armored Truck, as it has some of the best secondary weapons, but can get stuck really easily on the terrain. 5th would have to be the Heavy Tank, because while it can soak up a LOT of damage, it is way too overrated, and when I use it us very sluggish. I have the Assault Truck last because while it is the fastest of the Heavy Armored Vehicles, it can be taken out way too easily, and is kind of awkward to use.
IMO the assault A7V with all its MG is not that bad when it comes to capture objectives. It can be used as a spawn point for the team and when static and capturing the objective, all these MG are easy to aim. They are quite good at suppressing enemies, or cut to pieces those assault players trying to get closer to you. The breakthrough A7V will loose some of the assault A7V effectiveness in this situation, but compensates with the ability of destroying cover with the 20mm cannons, and can resupply teammates. I would say that when PTFOing with A7V, the assault variant if better if you're on your own (driver + gunners), but the breakthrough A7V will be better if your tank has some infantry support. It will also be better against armor. The flamethrower A7V is extremely powerful in close quarters against infantry, but there are few maps where this power can be effectively used (Amiens, or the villages in Sinai desert, Saint Quentin, Soissons), which are situations where you could choose other tanks to do the job, like the FT17 flanker, which is also more agile.
My personal favorite heavy tank is the flamethrower, yes Ik stupid? No definitely not. Answer is three people get to put fear into enemies that don't know how to use assaults truly and even then fire, can't be stopped.
At least on console it seems that nobody (except me) runs the breakthrough. In my opinion the breakthrough is far superior to the other variants. The sidegunner cannons have splash damage which make them so much more effective in the actual combat even though their pure numbers might be worse than the machine gun. With the machine guns it's nearly impossible to hit anything when the tank is moving. Also the sheer number of additional gunners in the assault variant doesn't help either. I think you are doing something wrong if you bind 6 people to one tank. 2 or 3 people running one heavy tank is more than enough to run it effectively.
Breakthrough for me since its hard to find 4-5 more people for the other variants. Also, spash damage from the side guns compenstates for damage, right?
Usually use the flamethrower or Breakthrough A7V with me frequently running into Assault tanks which can destroy the A7V heavy tank using field assault or stand off and rarely used premium level 70-120 Putilov Garford Assault truck. Can you do one on the putilov garford assault truck
I prefer light howitzer tank over any heavy tank. My problem with A7 is just both useful variants (flame sucks, like you said) use same ammo pool for both canister and he/at shell. It means that you either go against vehicles or infantry, not both. If you focus on killing infantry and then tank comes around, you're fucked. You've no shells left to deal with it and vice versa. That's why I love howitzer, it's hmg absolutely destroys infantry and is surprisingly good against air targets as well. I've shot down several planes with it and even the zeppelin once. And the howitzer cannon is a beast against vehicles. Only tank I'm worried to face is actually A7 breakthrough tank, because it's the only one that can destroy me faster than I can take it out. If there ever'll be a heavy tank with both cannon and hmg for driver, I'd pick that.
Flamethrower tank ist the best, you do not have to waste your ammo to kill infantry in close range, it is also a key to win fight with other tank if it is close. And this flamethrower is much easier to use.
Great Video as always! It's a silly question but is english your mother language and you can speak german very well or is german your mother language and you can speak english this perfect? Everytime you say something in german it sounds very good :D
German was my first language; English is technically my second language but I learnt it from a very young age, plus I've been living in English speaking countries for years now 😁
Artillery trucks. Most of the times i see them they are used to stay behind a rock and snipe everyone. I want to know if there is better way to use them. Personally i only use them to take behemoths down.
These German pronunciations were some of the most satisfying things I've heard in a while
I feel like there are a lot of players who dont even realize there are vehicle variants honestly
And the next vehicle I wanna see is the light tank variants
Lol
This was me for 5 months
who realize that there are tanks other than the crappy landship
Amazing video, very informative. Overall I prefer the Heavy Assault variant because most gunners don't even stick around once they spawn and the Smokescreen is super valuable for covering your retreat when a gang of Assault descends on you.
I like the assault gas tank, I know this is a stupid choice, but this tank is so fun to play.
lmao ikr, its just so much fun spamming gas into an objective
Victor Rufino I like shooting its HE she'll hitting someone then seeing their body go flying 😂
Victor Rufino Same
Mine to
Gas makes it hard for people to aim so it's good for objectives
I like the flamer, so I can turn all the battles I'm in into scenes from. hell
I agree with that. Statement
Wait wtf I thought u had 700k subs how do u only have 73k? U deserve wayyyy more.
Someday maybe... If RUclips doesn't implode by then 😄
TheCyclone911 with this qualtity and details yes, I find these videos to be like someonething a guy with a couple of hundres thousand or 1-2 million subs would do. I guess he started yt a bit late..
TheCyclone911 not to late to entertain and give us amazing info tho
I think it would be really helpful to cover the heavy bombers since they're relatively new and harder to figure out than the others.
do the assault tank next. if your a tanker its almost worth it to get the premium pass for the assault tank. the spotting assault tank is beast.
That's probably been my favourite ever since its release as well!
I like the gas assault tank.
once I have equipped the spotting assault tank I havnt switched. I have never used the gas assault tank.
DeathGrinder B
I love every variation of all tanks.
Personally I think the gas variant is the beat but I e never used the spotting one what's special about it?
Please cover the light tank - the variants are really confusing.
Also I used the assault half the time and the flame the rest, but thanks to the video I’ll start using the breakthrough
From playing personally, the Flanker model trades the main gun for a 20mm auto-cannon that has some sort of AP and Canister shot, it's really only good for annoying enemy vehicles and picking on infantry. Really, just take the basic Close Support model, it has a 37mm cannon that can hurt enemy tanks effectively, a coaxial machine gun for anti-infantry, and even better can deploy those amazing resupply boxes to help your team.
Christopher Walters Thanks that makes sense now, I will just use the regular version
the howitzer is best for anti tanking, but the main gun really sucks against infantry. instead the mmg the close support has, the howitzer has hmg for better anti infantry.
MasterCookerR6 I love the light howitzer tank derp derp derp
MasterCookerR6 the breakthrough tank is less effective against infantry. I'm pretty sure its a 2 shot kill with the main cannon and the canister blast. it is very good against armor but for infantry its not that great. use assault tank if you have the dlc. the spotting tank is the best imo.
Great video as always, I'll be using the breakout tank variant much more now after watching this.
Standard operating procedure for A7V: guy spawns in, uses it as a mobile artillery piece, allies spawn in, get HMGs that they'll never use, or even see the enemy. Exception is usually the flamethrower variant.
simply can't dislike a rogue9 video
Damn you went digging through website code for a video about the variants of a type of tank in BF1? Talk about dedication! No wonder your videos are such high quality, keep it up!
Yes, I like breakthrough variant same as you. Because it’s has two side cannon guns helping team to destroy armor vehicles, especially when 1 vs 1 with an enemy tank. It’s very helpful.
From the Heavy tank I think the breaktrough is the best, but I have most fun in the Flamethrower one - but, only on Amiens (as you pointed out).

P.S. all writen here is or my personal and friends BF experience, or judgments after seeing random BF streams.
Слава Сахно that's a LONG comment.Nothing wrong with your English :)
That description though. :)
I use the basic assault variant mainly for the smoke to retreat and repair, but i am going to give the breakthrough a go after watching this.
Heavy breakthrough tank is such a beast and is near invincible when you have competent gunners that can jump out and repair if shit is going tits up, great video 👍🏻
Awesome to finally find out about some tank stats and it's great to see a youtuber keep their word. Look forward to the other ones
Great vid rogue, keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
I would love to see a video breaking down the light tank variants.
The one with the flamethrower of course, because who doesn't want to send their enemies running and screaming in agony...
And the bomber killer also has an emergency repair, which is nice if your opponent has a competent backseat gunner.
The way you pronounced the A7V's name in German made me faint. So perfect.
he either is really talented or has a hidden german past :D i was surprised to hear him pronounce "pistole" correctly in another video. neither "pistol" nor "pistolah". but pistole. he nailed the schwa.
The flamethrower tank does have a rear weapon it’s a secret though it’s called
Backing up
Underrated comment
0:22 tank you so much for not pronouncing that like most youtubers do. (pun intended)
My personal favourite tank is the st chammond w/ the search light. It is basically a sniper tank and I use it like how the st chammond was actually used; as a mobile artillery platform. When necessary, I take flags too. Highly effective.
Joseph Raleigh so the standoff assault tank, I like using it also
Me and my friends call the heavy tank the Spanish Inquisition for the reason that every uses the Heavy tank instead if they don’t use the Landship on Xbox so really everyone suspects it even when nobody expects it. We just really love Monty Python
2:47 That’s true, it also was nicknamed a trench tail
I think it’s the flamethrower variant because the flamethrower and gas combination is really useful for dealing with assault players who get too close
Tachankas LMG!
Can you make an Analys of all the traps in R6s
Almost missed your suggestion there, hidden away all the way at the bottom like that! But sure, I'll add it to my list.
Tachanka's LMG is a DP-28. The LMG in the video is a Lewis Gun. But they do look very similar.
*coughs* brb need to change a certain default loadout *cough*
Phenomenal video as always, shame nobody is tracking the usage of specific vehicle types.
Best tanks and their best variant in my opinion
St. Chamond- The one that uses gas and mortar shells(excellent anti-infantry and decent anti tank capabilities); also has side skirts like the heavy to protect against critical hits on the tracks
A7V- Heavy Breakthrough variant
Does good in almost every situation, HE cannon look like crap on paper but are VERY useful and far superior option when you have competent and communicative crew mates
The most underrated of all
LandShip- Squad support
I fuckin Love this thing man
I’m not gonna tell you my strategy with this thing because I can turn conquest matches around in this thing with a competent squad backing me up
Apply Campaign Black Bess skin for extra style points
Completely agree. Tanks' number 1 priority should be other tanks. With good gunners and proper infantry support, a tank should be nearly unstoppable. Breakthrough is hands down the best variant.
Hey rogue 9 I know this isn't about this video but In rainbow six I started doing my own testing on a single operator. I know this sounds so stupid and nerdy but I basically found every stat on Valkyrie's mpx. I was wonder if I could some how get you to see and maybe even critique my work. love your videos so much. Thanks
Colin Oreilly
What do you mean by "every stat" in your above comment?
Every time I watch your video:
-"What's up guys"
-"Ceiling."
Squad support landship is absolute moisture.
the gadgets are what the deciding factor: flamethrower for amiens and "normal" loadout with smoke for any big map. without the smoke youre an easy target for planes and that smoke gives you the chance to also escape from infantry targets. breakthrough tank needs good cogunners and they dont exist in bf1.
back when the quick repair added 30hp, shit was ridicolous and 70+kills and 0 deaths were normal.
Speaking of the supply drops, you should try brusilov offensive as an assault truck dropping supplies to your allies to each Austro Hungarian position is extremely helpful and rewarding, plus it's a godsend to those on the first objective. Basically, use the assault truck as a supply runner.
At 2:10 - what the heck is that Tank icon centre-right next to the Garford-Putilov? Am I dreaming or is that something new?
Finally we both have the same opinion. Heavy breakthrough Variant is great, good against Vehicles.
Taolan8472 on console you select the tank slot then you have the tank claimed while you choose what tank and variant to use
Does it not work the same on pc?
Taolan8472 Rome Total War
Breakthrough is best. my personal experience finds that most ppl never stick around to man the MGs on the sides and rear since they're not really useful compared to them hopping out (especially vs tanks). the autocannons are very useful since they can break walls after a full clip, can damage tanks, and thus ppl often stick around for it. also, the supply drop is very helpful for the infantry. most ppl in asia run the standard Assault variant for the HE shell, but will switch to flamethrowers because it feels like a direct upgrade compared to Assault (flamethrower doesn't need to reload on the same pool as HE, and they deal more damage to infantry than MGs, and it's cooler). most ppl won't pick Breakthrough due to AP shells unable to frag infantry and thus terrible vs assault players who can quite easily harass them
Rouge you forgot to mention that flame heavy is great for indestructible buildings and holes and trenches
i know this is not the heavy tank but i really love useing the light flanker tank.. so great for other tanks and great for enemy soldiers on foot
Heavy breakthrough is also my favourite heavy tank. I see the flame thrower heavy tank most often
Guarantee if they added the ability to change your tank loadout to the menus where your change your kit, people would be using something other than the assault variant.
I use the break through variant as a infantry support vehicle, take out tanks, give supplies and help with fighting enemy infantry
I actually like the flamethrower heavy tank reason is that i can use the flames from the flamethrower to create a line of fire and use it as cover to escape.
I always see the heavy flame tank believe it or not, me and the bois love to spawn a Mark 5 and pick fuckers off at a distance
Howitzer light tank is good for objective destruction and making huge craters
andrew meek not to mention if you play smart you can obliterate enemy tanks
Tsar herp a derp yup 3 direct shots to kill any and most of the time only one to detract
Please make these videos for all the other vehicles!
Wow! I never heard an other youtuber pronounce german tank names that good!
Assault variant easily. No question. The combo of smoke and emergency heal is too good to pass up.
Damn the german pronunciation was almost flawless. Ich bin beeindruckt.
I like the breakthrough also, but also see the assault the most.
Me and this guy was having a tank battle with the flamethrower tank and we ended up bouncing about 20 shots so we just flamed each other XD
Haha, yeah there was a bug in the last patch where a lot of shots would bounce. It’s been fixed now though
I usually use the St. Chamond or the light tank, but if I do use the heavy tank I enjoy the breakthrough tank. It's best if you have at least one squadmate with you, though.
Flame is great because whenever a team sees a heavy tank, they all Switch to and rush as assault
It's also really great at surprise rushes.
excellent information!
Im a beast with the flamethrower tank. The primary shell has a better splash dmg eith explosive effect that makes all splash dmg shots a single shot. I dont use the flames too often but i do drop the gas often on enemy objs.
Bro you pronounce the german stuff better than some austrians
I am German. Lived there until 22 years old before moving to the UK for uni 😀
@@Rogue9 I understand.
RustedOpus Hellriegel is just such a wannabe/tryhard weapon
Because heavy tank is op
John Monroe Different weapons are spammed on different platforms, for example automaticos are much rarer on console than on pc, the hellreigel is spammed so bad on console and the model 10-A hunter is just obscene. Oh and the hellreigel isn't op its just incredibly easy to use, boring and overused
John Monroe Yeah that's totally irrelevant to my point, I'm complaining that it's overused and boring. So yeah I'd love to see more people using different weapons more like the mp18, personally the ribeyrolles is my fave. And its very easy to do just as well with tons of other weapons, people just disregard them because they're not so easy to use
soo true
I think the criticism of the Flamethrower Heavy Tank are kinda missing the point - How often is a tank 100% full of people? almost never! Usually there are just ~3 people in a tank.
Thus it makes more sense to use the flamethrower tank (imo) since the gunners can CHOOSE between weapon types.
want to see the new video entitled by What's the best light tank variant afterthat could you please do so on planes ? this type of videos helps to play ahead againts people and that's what makes the difference between a good player and an "educated" player :) cheers
I normally go with the flame thrower since I like to get up close and personal
Answer is three people get to put fear into enemies that don't know how to use assaults truly and even then fire, can't be stopped.
may you cover the landship variants? Curious to see what's your favorite? mine is the one with the hat.
Can you do one on the putilov garford assault truck
time for the landship my dude
The big guns on tank, always give the big blast, my choice.
+Icarian very good points! I also love the howitzer tank.
For a heavy armour tank with cannon and mg, I use the St. Chamond.
Flamethrower tank ist the best, you do not have to waste your ammo to kill infantry in close range, it is also a key to win fight with other tank if it is close. And this flamethrower is much easier to use.
Please do one for the Landship & light tank. I'm struggling to choose which Landship (in particular) is better
People learning what variant is the best... me discovering there are actually variants xD Thx
+Shrubbery hehehe, you're welcome 😄
Great Video as always! It's a silly question but is english your mother language and you can speak german very well or is german your mother language and you can speak english this perfect? Everytime you say something in german it sounds very good :D
German was my first language; English is technically my second language but I learnt it from a very young age, plus I've been living in English speaking countries for years now 😁
Are you planning to do with all vehicles? Please do, i really enjoy those types of videos
Yes! I'm taking votes on which one to cover next! Any preference?
Artillery trucks. Most of the times i see them they are used to stay behind a rock and snipe everyone. I want to know if there is better way to use them. Personally i only use them to take behemoths down.
Will you be doing this for all of the tanks? This way awesome!
+David Ratin yes, one by one. And the planes!
I can't wait!
