This was recorded around the time I first rode the E.T. Adventure in Hollywood. It was my first and last time, but I was able to ride again in Orlando in 2018. A great attraction. I was upset when the Mummy took the space over. Thanks for recording this.
I only rode it a couple of times but it was one of my favorite things at Universal.

Same. It blew my mind. I was genuinely baffled for the rest of the trip.

I went to universal studios for my 6th birthday. My parents, grandmother, and best friend were all together on this ride. This is one of my fondest memories (I am 36 now) of my childhood. Walking through the forest, hearing each of our names said at the end, it was magical.
Man one thing the video can't do justice to is the strange smell the ride had. I was there in 1993 and still to this day, remember how it smelt. Was like a sulfur/chlorine type smell. Weird. I loved the ride and loved the movie as a kid. One of my faves!
I was born in `93 and went there with my dad in the early-mid 2000s until it closed.
I bought the scented candle from the ET store you enter when you exit the ride at universal. The smell is spot on & it is so nostalgic.
The sulfur/chloride smell was likely the hydraulics beneath the ride. The odor was worse there.
I think about the smell everytime I remember the ride too!! I haven't smelled anything like it.
Was just at Universal for Christmas, I love the smell of the ride, I think it gives it something special
There used to be something magical about taking a family trip to universal, when et and bttf left, that magic went away.

Man I wish they could built this again! Maybe underground this time? Similar to Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland
E.T is one of my favorite ride at Universal Orlando Florida.

I talk about this ride. I was a kid and used to love it. But it's been so long that it feels like a dream. That's why I'm here so I can see it again haha. Miss it

Wow! The nostalgia is overwhelming.
I went to Disney Land in the summer of 2000, right before my 5th grade year. And almost a year before the day that changed the world.
I can still remember the smell.
"Welcome to the E.T. Adventure, sponsored by AT&T. We'd like to remind you at this time that there's no flash photography while inside the attraction, and to keep your arms and legs inside the ride vehicle..." I worked there for a summer in Hollywood.
Rode this in Sept 1999 at Universal Studios Hollywood. A magical experience, loved it! Ten years later was back in Oct 2009 and it had gone from the Hollywood Universal Studios. It’s still at Orlando though? Word has it Spielberg fought to keep it there?
E.T. is still in operation in Orlando! The Hollywood ride closed in 2003 and was replaced by Revenge of the Mummy (It's fun, but E.T. was better in my opinion.) There was also a ride at Universal Studios Japan that operated from 2001-2009. I got to ride it in 2006 but unfortunately they didn't allow on-ride filming. I'm not sure the specifics of Spielberg's involvement, but it appears he has some sort of contractual agreement that ties in with the theme park operations, so he probably has some influence on these types of decisions.
@@TravelJack cool! I’m in Tokyo at the moment for the Olympics but because we can’t stay on I can’t do Universal Studios here. I also rode on The Mummy in 2009 at Hollywood, it was ok, but just a ride for a film that isn’t in the same league as E.T. The E.T. ride WAS an experience, and just brilliant. I must get back to Florida, I’ve been twice but I’ve only been to Busch Gardens. Haven’t ‘done’ Orlando as it were! Thanks for your reply!
So cool to see this. I was at Universal studios the same year for spring break and Christmas.. we lived in Oklahoma but still got the season pass because my family enjoyed it so much.. thanks for the upload!!

this is so crazy to see, some of the best times of my childhood at this place... its wild to think how much more footage of the 90s universal would exist if we all had smartphones with camcorders lol!

It was one of my favorites! I was sad when they took it out, they should have kept it. It was better than the Mummy ride.

I got to ride this back in 2000 and my name has an unconventional spelling so when he says everybody’s names at the end he just gave up and was silent for mine.
I go way back with E.T. the Extra Terrestrial; I have found some E.T. Funko Pops already of E.T. And Elliot, the next characters that should be released by Funko need to be the characters from the ride: Botanicus, Tikli, Orbidon, and Magdol.
