Even the most demanding passages are played with such a perfect sense of pulse and spaciousness, that you forget completely how difficult this is to do. He is truly a special guitarist. Calling Goran the Glenn Gould of the guitar is not even fair. This is much less about ego and more about service to the music.

Göran Söllscher is my favorite Bach - interpreter on guitar. In 1983 he was 28 years old.

Without taking away from Söllscher, may I also suggest Paulo Martelli, Smaro Grigoriado, and Manuel Barueco?
