NEMOPHILA is the hottest band out of Japan right now. This song, HYPNOSIS and ROLLIN' ROLLIN' brought the house down during the 2nd Anniversary Live Stream event in Oct 21. First album released Dec 21 took "Artist of the Year" honors from Tower Records Japan. First in-person live concert only last week. Just getting started...this band is one to watch in 2022.

4 super talented musicians brought together for a couple of quick solo shows that the singer wanted to put on in 2019. Turns out they got along so well they started a band just to mess around a bit. As they were starting to get rolling, the pandemic hit, so rather than have live shows, they recorded a bunch of pandemic studio sessions and just had fun covering a huge range of songs. Every friday for a couple of months in 2020, and then again in 2021, they released a new studio cover video on their channel. They're clearly having the best time ever and it turned out the internet really enjoyed watching them play around and they really blew up. Their original releases are excellent too, but don't sleep on the covers. If you're gonna react to more of them, alternate between originals and covers. They did songs from Iron Maiden, KISS, Nickeback (😀), Linkin Park, AC/DC, and a bunch of Japanese covers too, from MtH, BABYMETAL and old anime openings.
After you've seen a few songs, plan to watch the video for their original song 'Life'. It's a very special performance but it's best to wait a bit till you sort of know who they are first.

Their sounds are heavy since there are sneaky lower notes in some places from their twin 7 strings guitars by SAKI and Hazuki supported by similarly heavy rhythmic twins of Haraguchi-san's 5 string bass and one of the best versatile drummer in Japan, Tamu. For heavier and more agressive stuffs from them where the hell fluffy cute singer, mayu, shows her banshee-like screaming ability, check out DISSENSION mv and OIRAN live NAONYAON2021.

Nemophila were my favorite band discovery last year by far! They are great, I became a big fan since I heard the first song xD and they are very varied in their compositions but all their songs are excellent, I haven't heard a song that bores me.
I recommend you listen to Revive (it's the song that is also the name of the album) and Raitei (it has an MV)

Nemophila are a phenomenal band. I highly recommend you check out Dissension (mv) or Revive (mv). You won’t be disappointed. They can go super heavy or light and everything in between.

EDIT: my mistake, the first title of the list is "Revive", not "Survive". Actually Survive is a stunning track from Wagamama Rakia, another Japanese band. And by the way, you should also listen to the last tracks of Gacharic Spin: "Mindset" and "I wish I"

If you like guitar solos, you're in for a treat! They do them in every song :)
They are considered a kind of a super-group, since all of them come from different bands, the most famous is the redhead guitarist Saki that still plays in "Mary's Blood"!
If you want to hear heavier stuff, go for "Dissension", "Revive" and "Oiran". If you want something more at this level, then there are "Hypnosis" and "Raitei"
Saki is also a HUGE BabyMetal fan, and they did an awesome "Megitsune" cover :)
They have quite a few cover songs, many made when they where in quarantine, and most of them are reaaally good! And seeing them play live brings joy because they are always smiling and laughing!
The best example of this is their cover of the "Banana song" from the minion movie :D

The boys have filled you in on this amazing new band they are the best new band for a long time packed with buckets of talent charisma and the look to go with it .Taking heavy music back to the top .You will not be disappointed with any of there songs just go look on there YT channel and pick any thing .The just out album CD Revive is superb .

The name of the song is "Hoozuki" (Hoh-dzu-kee). Demon Light is only the translation (I think guitarist Saki translated it like this). Another possible translation (same Kanji) could be "Chinese lantern", which is a plant that's used at Japanese Bon festivals (the festival to honor their ancestors) to guide the souls of the dead. It's probably kind of a similar meaning in the end.

I have this cd and the title of this song is actually called Hozuki.
Only Jinjer stands ahead of Nemophilia for me. No band has ever ascended so high and so fast for me. Literally love EVERY one of their originals and ALL their amazing covers they have done during Covid. After checking * out their originals like Oiran-live, Dissension, Revive and Raitei videos, hit up their 2 Maximum the Hormobe covers on their channel. Shimi and Zetsubou Billy are epic.

If you literally translate the Chinese character title, it reads Demon Light, but the real name of the song is Ho-o-zu-ki (winter cherry),

Good choice. Nemophila is one of my favorite bands at the moment. This song is good, but they have better ones. Check out Dissension, Revive, or Hypnosis.
