The "theater" you saw at Arlington is used for specific ceremonies at Memorial Day, Veteran's Day, etc. Presidential funerals, if they're held in DC, happen at National Cathedral. Also, Ben's is known for their chili half smoke. That's why people go and why it's a landmark. If you'd gotten that, you'd have given it more than a 5/10! The motorcade wasn't the Pres's. He travels in a limo called "the Beast" with flags on it. That motorcade is typical for the VP and a few diplomats. It's fun when they come through during rush hour...... NOT.

The one thing I’ve noticed about Kyle when he travels is he doesn’t really do much research so he ends up making some mistakes. Like not getting what the place is known for and judging it based on that 😂

Totally geeking out over the history even though I live here. Next time you're in the area you should check out Alexandria. If you're interested in history you can check out Washington's home (you can even stay in it!), explore old town, and even take one of the many walking tours (the ghost one where you stop at various bars is a fun one!) As for restaurants, the best in the DC area are not in DC 😂. Ok, there are actually some good ones, but you need to travel outside the downtown/Chinatown areas for the really good places. Generally the closer you are to the mall, the worse the food is with the exception of food trucks. Can't wait to see what else you end up exploring in the area!

Hello Kyle. Thank you for taking us with you again! Oh my God! You guys really had a busy day. I went to Mount Vernon many years ago, before they built the monument for the enslaves. I am glad they built it! For many years, people did not realize that George Washington had enslaves too. The chili place you all went to, never heard about it before today. Your dinner looked pretty good, that pizza looked yummy! Wish you all three a wonderful museum day! The museums are great and yes, they can take a long time to see them all. As always, stay safe and have fun! Cheers.

I've been to DC many times in my adult life! Very VERY expensive!!! Which is why many who work in DC live in VA or MD and take the Metro into DC. Still, there's great museums (Smithsonian is free) and lots of open spaces. Of course, my favorite hang out spot is DuPont Circle. Mount Vernon was a nice day trip when I was there too, as was the tour of the Capital (never toured the White House, sadly). Yes, Arlington National Cemetery his huge (like Magic Kingdom huge). Watching the honor guard in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is such a unique experience. To be chosen to Stand Guard at the TOTUS (as it's called) is the highest honor one could achieve, short of earning a Purple Heart. Shout out to those who Serve(d) our Country!!! D.C. loves acronyms: POTUS, FLOTUS, and TOTUS.

Also, if you get a chance, go to Georgetown and try “Georgetown Cupcakes” their used to be a TLC show of that store and it’s really popular in the area. So I live like an hour away from DC & fun facts.
When you walk around you can typically notice lots of random white vans. They will advertise as flower shops, restaurants, construction, etc. well security is actually in those “fake vans”. Also once when I was in elementary school, we got to tour the White House. Well a plane went in the “no fly zone” over the White House. All of a sudden these men jumped out of the vans with big 🔫 and they rushed us all out of the White House. Some of the security picked up kids and were running with them. When you looked up on top of the building all of these snippers showed up out of nowhere it was insane and scary but cool at the same time!
But, if you all have time go check out artechhouse it’s a really cool museum! Also, if you ever check out Frederick MD (it’s a cute town) let me know and I’ll give you all my tips!

The metro is the way to go in DC. Its so clean and easy. Go to all the Smithsonian museums! They are free!

I love DC! Go as often as I can. Only 3 hour ride from NJ. Great city and so much history!

Kyle, Ben's Chili Bowl has changed hands a few times. That's one problem. However, NO ONE comes there to order the chili alone in a bowl. Everyone orders the half smokes (smoked sausage) with chili on them. The chili is more of a condiment vs. a main dish. You essentially just ate a bowl of fancy ketchup. LOL! Seriously, any of the little food stands you see along the sides of the downtown streets more than likely serve half smokes. In my opinion the best place to buy is near the Howard University Business school. Order with chili and mustard. You will love it. Ben's started it all years ago but it is just a site seeing spot now.

BTW, next time you come to DC, DO NOT do the tourist spots for food. Ask the locals when you are here. Don't ask online or at your hotel. You will get the answers all the millions of tourists get, boring, bland sight seeing food. Next time try the District Winery at the Navy Yard, Ruth Chris, Fogo De Chao Brazilian Steakhouse, Voltaggio Brothers Steakhouse MGM, Bond 45 at the national harbor, or Founding Famers DC for high end food. For really good street or fun food, always go with the DC Wharf (fresh seafood), half smokes, fried wings and mumbo sauce, and cheese steaks (they call them steak and cheese). The beauty and curse of the DC food scene is that it is scattered between the far ends of Maryland, Virginia and DC. Come in the winter and you will have the most fun dining in downtown Bethesda Maryland. Come in th summer and DC and the close surrouding suburbs in like Bethesda MD and Old Town VA shine. Want country or BBQ, head out to the outskirts.

You have to get the half smoke with you go to Ben's Chili Bowl. Everything else there is mediocre. Make sure to stop by Hamilton's by the Capital it's a Packers bar as well.

Bens: it's the Half Smoke w/chili they are famous for! It's not the chili itself. DC = half smokes

I'm not bothered by noise on vacation. Honestly....when I'm tired, I sleep no matter the noise level.

Hotel food prices wa ms are awful. And yes. If they knew that they were having some kind of an event happening on the main floor, they should’ve put people in the rooms right above it who are participating in that event. I’m sorry you guys didn’t get good sleep.
