Starting Point: Northern Avenue & D Street goo.gl/maps/Xj... .
Boston is the capital and largest city[8] of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the United States. Boston also served as the county seat of Suffolk County until Massachusetts disbanded county government in 1999. The city proper covers 48 square miles (124 km2) with an estimated population of 667,137 in 2015,[9] making it the largest city in New England and the 24th largest city in the United States.[2] The city is the economic and cultural anchor of a substantially larger metropolitan area called Greater Boston, home to 4.7 million people and the tenth-largest metropolitan statistical area in the country.[5] Greater Boston as a commuting region is home to 8.1 million people, making it the sixth-largest combined statistical area in the United States.[10]
One of the oldest cities in the United States, Boston was founded on the Shawmut Peninsula in 1630 by Puritan settlers from England.[11][12] It was the scene of several key events of the American Revolution, such as the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, the Battle of Bunker Hill, and the Siege of Boston. Upon American independence from Great Britain, the city continued to be an important port and manufacturing hub, as well as a center for education and culture.[13][14] Through land reclamation and municipal annexation, Boston has expanded beyond the original peninsula. Its rich history attracts many tourists, with Faneuil Hall alone drawing over 20 million visitors per year.[15] Boston's many firsts include the United States' first public school, Boston Latin School (1635),[16] first subway system (1897),[17] and first public park (1634).
The area's many colleges and universities make Boston an international center of higher education,[18] including law, medicine, engineering, and business, and the city is considered to be a world leader in innovation and entrepreneurship.[19][20] Boston's economic base also includes finance,[21] professional and business services, biotechnology, information technology, and government activities.[22] Households in the city claim the highest average rate of philanthropy in the United States;[23] businesses and institutions rank among the top in the country for environmental sustainability and investment.[24] The city has one of the highest costs of living in the United States,[25] though it remains high on world livability rankings.[26]
Economy
A global city, Boston is placed among the top 30 most economically powerful cities in the world.[139] Encompassing $363 billion, the Greater Boston metropolitan area has the sixth-largest economy in the country and 12th-largest in the world.
Tourism also composes a large part of Boston's economy, with 21.2 million domestic and international visitors spending $8.3 billion in 2011;[147] excluding visitors from Canada and Mexico, over 1.4 million international tourists visited Boston in 2014, with those from China and the United Kingdom leading the list.[148] Boston's status as a state capital as well as the regional home of federal agencies has rendered law and government to be another major component of the city's economy.[35][149] The city is a major seaport along the United States' East Coast and the oldest continuously operated industrial and fishing port in the Western Hemisphere.

3. Drive around the residential areas and communities of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
4. Drive around Los Feliz area of L.A..
5. Drive around the Silver Lake area of L.A.
6. Drive from Seattle to Port Angeles, Washington, take the ferry to Vancouver Island, Canada and drive all over Victoria and all of the rest of Vancouver Island. Then take the B.C. Ferries to Vancouver, British Columbia.

Hi everyone, I live in Brazil, I have a dream of living in the United States, in machachustes. Is any of you from there ??
Merçi beaucoup! Vos vidéos sont un régal.

Boston is the perfect city. Beautiful architecture, European feeling city, super walkable, so much to do. I love that you have this major city but don't have to go far to get to your quiet, beautiful New England towns and mountains. Can't wait to move here. Honestly no other place compares.
I lived 6 months in this city and if given the choice I would live there forever. There is something magical about Boston. It feels like living 200 or 300 years in a modern past 😂
Alianz Al It’s not even expensive, move there!
@@Inquiring Hahaha! You were being facetious, right? (It's very expensive here, but it's all relative--we earn more, so we pay more--it all comes out in the wash.)
KPJ113 I was just viewing it from a perspective as someone living in NYC, things are definitely cheaper in Boston for sure haha
@@Inquiring Right, because here, we aren't all living like fucking sardines, paying $3k/mo to live in a 400 sqft closet in the bowels of the grid.
@charlie cheeseface IN THE CITY?!? I don't *think* so...LOLOL!
One of My favourite cities in US.God bless America. Greetings from India.
Moved from Boston to California....I miss the cleanliness...the clean AIR NO TRASH ...hell I even miss revere beach ! Santa Monica beach smells like an open sewer! I miss beautiful Boston
here in miami....same thoughts
Born and raised in Cali but I moved to Massachusetts. I stay right next to revere beach blue line.
Revere beach sand castles
Are you insane?? in what world is any beach in not just Boston but all of Massachusetts better then the beaches of the LA area?? Boston is terrible 7/8 months out of the year being trapped inside because of the awful weather cold cloudy raining snowing the beaches are terrible cold water... Barley 2 months out of the year is beach weather in Boston..there is so much more to do.in Los Angeles
I've been to Santa Monica beach many times and never smelled anything like that, the LA beaches are well maintained than ever before.
I moved to Boston in 1997 and have seen the city over the years become more modern while preserving its rich history...
i also travel a lot to South America, Europe and some parts of Asia and every time I comeback home I get so dumbfounded to see how unique and beautiful Boston is in comparison to most cities
Boston is very unique. Like a time capsule in a way. Historic preservation is important!
I miss Boston so much i cry thinking about the city. I used to drive like you do day and night circling around. Damn man it is a beautiful city with bridges and rivers and lights the roads make you feel cocooned. I also drove on country roads its just amazing the view everything the feeling.
I've never been to Boston and this video is actually my first time even seeing Boston from a "on the streets" perspective. I am astonished at how beautiful this city is! I've NEVER had any desire to go to Boston but (after seeing this video) I think I might add it to my bucket list. I'm actually shocked at how clean and beautiful it is compared to other cities that boast that they are clean and beautiful. +J Utah @J Utah THANK YOU SO MUCH for these videos. You have no idea how relaxing, peaceful, and interesting these videos are to me. I like to load up these videos on my 55 inch Samsung 4K Smart TV and watch them in crystal clarity and it feels like I'm actually in the car driving through the city myself. It's like taking a vacation BEFORE taking an actual vacation. Thanks to you, I've been able to see these cities I've always wondered about and these videos have literally ALTERED my life by giving me a good idea of where I do and do not want to go!
Been to Boston loved every bit of this beautiful city. From Canadian
cant wait for border to reopen and come back to montreal!
Massachusetts it's definitely the most beautiful state of America. Boston 🇺🇸😊🥂🥂I'm speechless
No it's not even close
Florida..texas..california..wyoming..
I’m from MA and I agree the state is beautiful, but I also agree that New York, Texas, Wyoming, Florida, Utah, and Hawaii are all far superior. There isn’t much natural beauty unless you count hundreds of miles of temperate forests. Even the northern parts of NE are better.
If that were true you all wouldn't be flooding into Maine and NH en masse!
I think every state is beautiful in its own way. Some people say that Colorado is the most beautiful state because of the mountains but I, for istance, don't think so because it's very dry and I just don't really like cities like Denver or Colorado Springs. In my opinion, Maine is the most beautiful state because of the woods in the North, the mountains, the beautiful coatline, the climate, the wildlife, the cities/towns etc. In terms of big cities, I'd say Boston is probably the most beautiful as well as my favourite. It all comes down to personal preference
I love the organization and clean atmosphere!
Also the absence of crowded city Bus traffic is a positive plus and management expertise!
Thank you!
boston commons on a nice summer day might be the most beautiful setting of any city in America
Boston is the best City! Was born and raised there and raised all my children there.. now I live an hour away from and I miss it terribly!
Hi from the UK. Very impressed, looks clean and tidy and a great place to visit.
Looks a lot like the UK
@@Cyrus992 Uk is dirty though I hated it

Best city in the country!!! I love Boston. Proud to be from Massachusetts.
ReturnoftheBrotha
Lol, Southern California easily beats the North-East in my opinion. The only "nice" city in the Northeast would maybe be Boston.
NYC is TERRIBLE. Even the best areas, like Times Square, looks like a huge slum with some signs and new cars. The average neighbourhoods in LA look better than the BEST NYC has to offer.
And places like Rodeo Drive, and the beaches of LA are way better than anywhere in the old North-East in my opinion :P
The North-East was yesterday my friend. The West Coast is the Best Coast for tomorrow.
Dan True Me too!!!!!:)
i love boston baltimore is a dangerous city lol
Dan True yaaaaaaaassss bitch
Dan True Looks better than any eastern Canadian city that's for sure.
Thanks for the perfect video of Boston.. enjoyed going through the streets without leaving my seat seeing the cast on my TV..Glorious city
This is an impressive place. I am watching from UK.
Members of my family (quinn) emigrated to boston in the 1950s, from ireland - never heard from them until i read obituaries. I alway wondered what it was like where they went, now i see. Two aunts and one uncle went to Boston. Nice place, thanks for upload.
What a beautiful city! More like an european city than american. Those architects and buildings are gorgeous! :) Greetings from Central Europe - Hungary.
true this
Doesn't look European at all. Looks like an old North American city. European cities don't have these buildings, American cities do though, so its the other way around
Nope its just american
Nothing about it is european in any way lmao are you jealous or something
@@itzpro5951 Yes, the buildings look very typical american but check out "beacon hill" in Boston, that looks very european imo...
Quite an interesting city that's distinct from others in the U.S.
It’s one of the oldest cities in the US. One of the reasons it looks unique is its lack of grid system. Most roads and pathways were based off horse trails. That’s why the skyscrapers face in odd directions.
Was there a couple days ago beautiful, but few people racist there.
@@laithmohammad2584 did you meet any? There's a few racist people everywhere you go. It's not right either way
Greeting from Canada 🇨🇦 your city is huge! And beautiful so clean! Looking one of these days i”am going to visit your great city thank you so much for sharing your amazing videos
Greg Benson you’re right about the beautiful and clean part, but it’s actually pretty small compared to most major cities. The actual city has less than a million people and it’s honestly probably the size of one of NYC’s boroughs. But that’s why I love it. It just feels like a really big town
Yes but most cities population is around that small. Boston’s Mateo area has over 5million people which is a better number to compare it as most people in that area commute to closer areas within the city
Justin Williams there's only 10 US cities with 1 million or more people though. Boston has about 3/4 of a million people. it's only a little bit smaller than San Francisco.
Pete Tosh Like I said, that’s just the city center area. The people in the metropolitan area of Boston (5 million~) almost all commute to Boston regularly so they should be counted as population and usually are.
omg thats my country!!🇺🇸 ❤️ boston is super wonderous. there was so much to do. i remember in 4th grade i went on field trips to there with my bff in the same class as me. the memories are real
Thank you and I LOVE your posts! My parents and I drove through Boston on the way back from a trip to Nova Scotia in 2015, and I immediately fell in love with the city. After 5 years of debating I am going to make the leap and relocate to your beautiful city from Los Angeles where I have resided for 29 years. I will be coming there this summer to pay another visit and your videos really help me get a great view of the different areas until I can get there to see them in person again and I am beyond excited........
def on my list to visit this beautiful city
My family came to America in the early 1900s and bought a house there. Now can't even afford to cover the taxes it's so out of control so basically they forced my family out of the place where we were all born and raised because of the greed and high taxes. I'd love to go back to my home but unfortunately with the ultra high cost of housing and taxes it's more of a fantasy than reality. I'm not going to go back there and struggle just to put a roof over my head and not even be able to afford anything else that's just insanity. I have two brothers that net over $1,400 a week each and they're living in mobile homes 30 miles outside of the city. So just think for a moment what it would actually cost to survive and thrive there nowadays. When they saw the house that I bought where I live now... (actually own two pieces of property with land) they could not believe it. It would easily cost upwards of $750,000 there, where I live it's only a small fraction of that price and the taxes are nothing compared to living there, Maybe one-tenth. It's terrible to feel not completely whole because I can never return back to my home. I feel as if my home rejected me, it's just not right.
Every City in America is modern clean and attractive, indeed America is leading others follow
Have back from Boston for awhile ... spent 2 years there. Miss everything .. Fenway park , Chinatown , cambridge , Germain street .. lots of memories in Boston with my ex bf . Feel sad now
The truth is that the United States of America is the most beautiful country in the world. My dream is one day to get to know ...
Love your city, historic is an understatement, its where it all began to sending the British a packing, greetings from NovaScotia.Mad about your Boston!! I know how proud you are of it.Will never forget how warm and beautiful I was treated this Feb.2020.State House staff and police were magnificent to us,love ya.
Boston's dense urban core is very impressive.
I agree! - The general layout, the variation of height, the architecture, etc. The list goes on - Fantastic!

Wonder if Europe is also racist like the USA. Hope NOT.
Look beautiful, clean & calm city of USA
I'm from Europe and I love how American cities look
Finally a European that doesn't think American cities are dull and soulless
@@Yoda_Panda Because Boston is one of the older American cities, built before bad zoning laws and boring corporate architecture. Because of this, it is very walkable which makes the city livelier.

boston looks very good, more european i love it

I just love this city ❤️❤️❤️. I can think to live there 🥰
The city is beautiful but I think it is time to repave the roads.
Connor McDevitt The do constantly repave. And construction is constant. In the spring the frozen roads expand and contract and crack and get pot hole. It just is.
Oh that makes sense! I'm from Vegas and it never snows here..
be happy it never snows i like to live somewhere where it doesn't snow
Why?snow is very beautiful. What kind of Christmas would we have whitout snow?
Enrico Piova family can't get to if it starts snowing that always happen to me in new York
I've seen all of your videos must say
Boston Downtown is the best
I'm becoming addicted to watching your Driving Downtown videos. Keep up the good work.
Everyone complaining about the roads, you should remember that Boston has one of the US’s greatest public transportation systems, and most young people take it over driving, which leaves the roads not used as much.
EvanAviator still the road seems like a 3rd world countries
@@moonmc1047, I lived there. It is always being fixed, yet after the harsh winters, it has to be done all over again.
I once heard that apparently Boston has the highest percentage of people walking to work in America or something like that. Boston is one of the few American cities where you will actually find sidewalks on every single road.
Plus, Boston was designed as a pedestrian system.
boston still has the worst traffic out of any city in america so
Yo vivo aqui hace 12 y fue amor a primera vista boston es hermosa ......
Absolutely beautiful video. Very nice work, what a perfect day too, not a cloud in the sky and so many people are out walking around the city, it gives a great perspective of almost being there. Nice job.
I live and work in boston now, crazy to see how much has changed in just 4 years! Awesome video!
lovely drive .. looks like London some places. may be a weekend drive, lots of people leasuring, not many cars around.. nice post
Lived here from 1973-1991 and went back in 2001 for the last time. My how it's changed! So many new buildings. I LOVED living there in the 70s - I am nostalgic seeing some of the old places I used to go. Wish it was possible to travel back in time.
The city of Boston has an interesting architecture, I think. I landed there once, but didn't have the time to have a look at the city - until now. ;-)
Beautiful city. Wish Toronto looked like this.
smasila..Montreal is more similar to Boston
Toronto is one of my favorite places, and it's one of the best cities ever. No need to compare it to Boston. Boston is colonial. Toronto is modern. Both are great. Besides, Rush is from Toronto. You can't beat that!
Bruh what Toronto is way better than Boston.
Ottawa is better
pwoods100 Boston isn’t modern?🤣 Boston was colonial hundreds of years ago, both cities are modern.
it's amazing city and nice video thanks, respect from algeria
Дуже гарне місто! Дякую що показали!
Wow, every corner you turn in this video there is so much construction going on! That's not a bad thing at all, but it's so present, LOL. It's good to know Boston takes its infrastructure seriously.
TM56 Every time I go here it grows bigger and bigger. I love it!
Boston is going through an economic boom. The Seaport in South Boston is especially on fire. The downside to this is that all of the working class people are being priced out; real estate here can be comparable to Manhattan and more expensive than an outer borough in NYC.
part of that is also that the video was shot in the summer and due to our cold/snowy winters most construction is performed in the warmer months. I wish he has driven along the Charles river and seen all the small sail boats.
As a local, I just wish they'd put some of that money into the transit system!! All the same, I'm proud of Boston.
Summertime, construction time.
I love ❤️ my city Boston strong 💪 I love 💕

never thought id watch a video of someone driving around a city and sitting at stop lights.
....but here we are 🤷
I moved here to Boston from North Carolina a year ago. I love it here!
The ppl drives batshit crazy u just have to move out the way and walk when the signs say walk.
Leona Putney I plan I moving there in the next few months any tips ?
Lol.
Very nice. Beautiful city. Most big cities in the US are actually quite sterile in way. There is no hectic and dynamic vibe or what so ever, like London or Amsterdam. It almost look like its always Sunday and the buildings are closed. Nice to actually kinda experience it in this way.
Appsessed I can tell, it's a Sunday afternoon. The quiet is a nice change. If it wasn't as during the week the car wouldn't be moving about so easily.
try living in nyc everyday is crowded
Appsessed Do you know of NYC?
I have been to London and it has nothing on NYC when it comes to a hectic vibe. In fact, no place I've been to on earth does.
David W I wasn't talking about NYC when I said most big cities
Beautiful Architecture. :)
InSomniaArmyCheshire MooMooReveLuv yes, thanks to the British 😂

yes born an raised an also traveled all over the usa living in different areas of the country i can comftably say that boston has thee best downtown u can ever go to or live in period theres no better atleast in america
Right on! So much history to see. Great downtown neighborhoods too like Beacon Hill and the North End. Thanks for sharing!
I actually prefer Seattle. But Boston is definitely one of the top cities in America. Especially for schooling
newyork way better than Boston
yes maybe over crowded but newyork is better

Mine friend was in Boston, he said it's a very good City
This great city of USA look clean, calm and beautiful by this video
Don't judge me, but I think Boston city much more beautiful than New York city.
Prometheus Same
Boston has much more character. NYC is very impressive and vast, but there's something that feels diluted. Maybe it's the diversity in architecture that Boston has. No street grid system(even though it's far more efficient, and we must praise NYC for that). Not to say NYC is any slouch! The two can barely be compared.
Boston has a lot of historical buildings from the colonial times just seems a lot more classier, nicer and cleaner than just a bunch of sky scrapers and over populated streets with debris.
Lynne Dumas NYC urban area is about 2.5 times the size of Boston but it's nearly twice as dense. Boston has several street grids in different directions but in some places it's not neat.
JIM JONES I agree over the summer I went to nyc and it was super fun just walking around talking to a lot of people especially in the center of Manhattan I live in Boston so that’s how I know
I have been to San Francisco, I enjoyed the video drive thru NY Chicago & Boston
I can't wait to come back

Want to visit! Hello from Melbourne, Australia!!
It's been a long time since I didn't visit Boston. This must have been filmed a Sunday afternoon. The streets have less traffic, the sidewalks are vast and the buildings have great traditional architectures. Amazing city!
What day was this filmed? I have not seen the streets so quiet!
Bruce Goolsby right, probably a Sunday
Bruce Goolsby look outside summer time a/c on windows up
@@gomerpyle1886 He asked what "day", not what season. I wondered myself what 'day' this was filmed, because I, too, immediately noticed the low foot-traffic and thought; 'Was this filmed on an early Sunday morning? Where IS everyone?' :D
I think he films on slow days to get around the traffic.
I am a Bostonian who moved to Berlin in 1975. I have to go back every yr and I still have the accent. As Thomas Gold Appleton said, who lived at 10 Commonwealth Ave, „Boston is a state of mind.“

Love these two cities!
If only we had the metro system that you have!
Ottawa is a lot better
Most American cities have a grid street plan whereas Boston has a very European street plan which means it wasn’t really planned.
I'll go to Boston anytime soon.
