    • @BeFluentinRussian
      @BeFluentinRussian  7 лет назад

      We put an infinitive!
      We only conjugate "хотеть" into the right form, which is in your case "хочу".

    for most of these words, I heard you pronounce the ending with a kinda ch sound. In the first set of verbs, I heard to drink, sound like the English word peach. And the fifth word sounded to me like gava-reach. In the word to eat, however, I didn't hear it end with a ch sound; I heard it as ye-est and ending with more of a T sound. Is it because the lower case b letter is next to the T that makes it sound like ch, and there are just some exceptions like in the word to eat?

    • @BeFluentinRussian
      @BeFluentinRussian  6 лет назад

      ТЬ will sound very close to "CH" sound. But the reason is that Т gets softened by a soft sign at the end. For learners it's hard to produce that softening. It's just simply unnatural.
      Check this video out- ruclips.net/video/hXrPPxL983g/видео.html

    • @frenchimp
      @frenchimp 2 года назад

      There is a ch sound in Russian, it is written using the letter ч (and it is soft). The soft t sound written ть at the end of words sometimes sounds a bit like t followed by a very short s sound, but this is a result of softness (the tongue being close to the palate, which produces friction). It is essential to learn to distinguish soft and hard consonants in Russian, and ть should not be confused with ч (ch) or ц (ts) , the latter having a more clearly pronounced s component (hard).

    What's the relationship between the words "воду" and "водка"? (I mean, "etymologically") Did russians decide to name "vodka" as if it were something like "little water" or "cute water" or "soft water" or "hot water"? Or the similarity between these words is simply a coincidence?

    • @rubengomez5528
      @rubengomez5528 7 лет назад +1

      Bunoir Duoir it is correct. "вы" means you as in plural or you in a polite manner. it is used to show respect to people like your boss, or to a stranger. "Ты" is used for friends and family.

    • @jackroom834

    • @rubengomez5528
      @rubengomez5528 7 лет назад +2

      Bunoir Duoir "Понимаете" means understands or understand, the e at the end is what you put after you use "вы". Like for example the word to know знать:
      Я знаю-I know
      Ты знаешь-You know (informal)
      Он знает-He knows
      Она знает-She knows
      Оно знает-It knows (rarely used, in Russian he or she is used to replace it)

    Let's give it a shot!
    1) Я хочу говорить русский хорошо. (Can I use "говорить" to mean "speak a language"? And can I use Хорошо like that?)
    2) Я хочу есть пиццу.
    3) Я люблю рить кофе. (I'm probably missing the case in "кофе"...)
    4) Я не пю много пиво. (guess I'm missing the case too... should it be Пиву?)

      1) Я хочу говорить по-русски хорошо
      but the word order is a bit unnatural: Я хочу хорошо говорить по-русски is better
      2) if u wanna eat it now or very soon u have to say съесть
      3) correct but mistake with the word пить (accident i guess)
      4) Я не пью много пива (u missed a letter in пью and used a wrong case in пива)
      u r welcome

      In some regions people tend to say O as O more often. But in general it is less common.
