    As a Bavarian I can confirm this. We drink 1 liter of beer in the morning 365 days/year and only eat Weißwurst and Brezn. But you must finish your Weißwurst before noon, otherwise the angel Aloysius will snatch you and imprison you at a beerhall, where you have to drink Maß after Maß, while you are being guarded by a ferocious Wolpertinger.

    In college I was in Germany for summer music festivals and they had the best food there. The breakfast was such an enormous spread of great varieties of fresh breads, cheese, jam, fruits, tea etc… I would even hoard some for the day thinking it was the best food I’d ever seen, but no then LUNCH and DINNER would come along and… *mind blown*

      That's exactly the way many people from Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg feel about a certain type of people ( I am certainly not saying that there are no exceptions from the rule) from Northern Germany incl. Northrhine Westphalia: They laugh about them wholeheartedly - them being so reserved, not very communicative, sometimes kind of boring, a little uptight, having a hard and rather harsh accent (not the mellow Southern one), taking themselves so seriously.... And not being able to manage the school system which is way more demanding in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.

    • @stefanb6539
      @stefanb6539 3 года назад +24

      American bread should be qualified as a dish, rather than a food. You want to eat the toppings without getting your fingers dirty, so the bread is optimised to be as inoffensive as possible. No smell, no taste, no bite, no crunch.... nothing to distract from the toppings. Just an edible dish.

    Okay this is funny. My grandfather full German. He looks a lot like you. He was a toehead blue eyes nose just like yours. Bread with every meal love to meet up every kind I got to surprise him with blood sausage. That pleased him so much. Oh my gosh and he ate muesli on Sundays too what are you serious he did this because he was German. He always had to have butter on his bread.
    This is quite hilarious because ironically practically everything you stated my grandfather loved.

    Nice video but few errors: Mettwurst isn't raw. When its raw it is called Mett. The first "sausage" is a slice of bacon. You forgot the Eszet-Schnitte a solid chocalte which is meant to put on bread and is named after our special letter ß. I rly liked the reasoning for the müsli ^^

      But it's true. you don't cook anything in the morning - at maximum you boil an egg, also no pancakes or whatever.
      Sausage for breakfast is more a UK thing, with baked beans and so on. Sausages is kind of an untrue Stereotype. It's rather cold cuts. (Slices)

      I usually just drink a tea in the morning (sometimes I'll also eat some fruits) and the majority of my friends and family eats cereals for breakfast. On weekends we always have bread rolls with sausages and stuff, as described in the video
