- Here I'm making eight #30stemchallenge posies for a lovely commission.
In this clip I give you lots of tips and tricks to inspire you to cut and create your own. Go on, take a bucket of water and a pair of scissors out into the garden with you and see if you can cut thirty stems - maybe all of the same variety, maybe lots of different kinds of flowers and foliage - have a go and see how much you enjoy it. I bet you do!
For an extended, ad-free version of this clip, all the info re 'the project,' and all Georgie's new clips with extra tips, news and regular live at 5s, do join her RUclips club. You can join up here: / @theflowerfarmer

You are such a lovely generous soul. Your are so encouraging and selfless and want the best for others. What a rare and beautiful quality to have. You are incredible. Your cup is so full of abundance and lust for life. Never stop. The World is a better place with your wealth of knowledge and passion for flowers. Thank you!
Wow, thank you! x
I love you, Georgie! In the midst of the craziness going on in our respective countries with Donald and Boris, you help me hold onto my sanity... and I thank you sincerely! 30 stems, coming up! ❤
go for it - and let's not mention Donald or Boris x
Amen!
Wait, this is the second or third time, and each time my brain goes, wait, Arlo Gurthrie? The Arlo Guthrie? I still haven't finished viewing all of your clips, but I will often revisit one when I need a mental health boost.
lol - my friend was christened Alexander Guthrie but has been Arlo, without being a famous musician, all his life. He has a clip I think on his RUclips @arloguthriegadgetman where he talks to the musical legend himself - so cool! x I'm glad you're enjoying the clips so much xxx
Jeepers .... I'm new to your channel, but I feel like I've found my people! I love using foliage and adore chartreuse as it seems you do too (it's my favorite neutral! 😉). I use Acers dissectums, hostas, grasses (stalks and seedheads), clematis seed heads, Asarum european, rhubarb, Berberis, ferns, catalpa (stems and catkins), Epimedium, holly, etc. I also swoon for the fragrance of Hesperis matronalis, Philadelphus and Catalpa blooms. I want to bottle them. This has been a most delightful way to spend 34 minutes; thanks so much!
Hurrah - you're very welcome x
Thank you for that video, cutting 30 stems x 8 posies because on Wednesday, I'm doing ''fun with flowers', at church for eight people and was stressing about not having enough flowers of each type to make a balanced bouquet, with flowers I grow at my allotment. Now I'm more relaxed because I realise I'm not competing with a florist shop look alike, but providing a pretty, garden gathered bouquet. It's been so cold and we've been under a blanket of heavy cloud all week, here on the North East coast, so that even the alchemilla mollis isn't quite there yet. Fingers crossed for me! I love all your videos. Thank you
Brilliant - enjoy x
I live in Las Vegas Nv. I watch your videos and dream. I so enjoy your content. Everyone I share your videos have halved loved your information. Your mom is wonderful also
thank you Jean x
Hello from India....love your creativity, videos and collection of vases. Such a wonderful place you've got ❤
Thank you so much 😊 x
As soon as you said a 30 stem challenge, my creative juices began to race…okay…30 stems, and out the door I went…I even surprised myself with how lovely my bouquet looked. I am not on instagram so cannot share, but believe me…it was a pretty good bouquet!
Love your channel, love your videos and most of all, love your grounded common sense and delightful accent. Greetings from Sk. Canada 💐
hello Canada! xxx I hope you're not burning xxx
@@theflowerfarmer Canada is a massive country, I live about 1500 miles from the fires, although the air is a bit smoke tinged. We need a good rain, like most everywhere else!

Great job! x
I think I use to watch your mom sewing quilts on a RUclips channel. Please let me know so I don’t think I’m going a little batty. Love watching all your videos.❤😊
there's a whole playlist on my channel devoted to my Mum Googie - and she quite often has quilting tips there so maybe that's it x
Georgie, I so enjoy you and your mom’s videos, you are a wonderful , creative lady. You have wonderful advice about gardening and flowers.
thank you x
Coincidentally this evening I pottered round the garden to pick a few flowers for a vase. Not sure I quite had 30 but probably not far off, and could easily have picked double the amount, without the garden even noticing. I'm loving your clips, thank you!
go for it x
THANK YOU for this video 😊
You are so welcome! x
Such beauties, I need to have more nigella in my life. And ammi!!
Thank you
you do x
Please could you explain how you cut your roses? I also have Gentle Hermione and Buscobel, they are looking better this year than ever, even though I’m in the south east and been battered by north Easter’s for the last month. As a novice gardener I’ve always dead headed to where I think the next bud will grow, but as a new cut flower enthusiast, inspired by you, it scares the hell out of me to cut lovely long stems including little buds and not know where the next flower will be coming from 😬
I ruthlessly cut wherever the mood takes me - but keep roses well fed, and mulched so they don't dry out, and they generally keep growing well. We are on thick clay so there's usually enough water in the ground a foot or so down for them even when it's been as dry as it has this spring x
Thanks for the display tips too. Will definitely get some rafia that's a great idea. Thanks
go for it x
Love this Going cutting now. 🥰happy cutting from indiana
Have fun! x

Why yes....yes, I can.

I discovered wild sorrel in my 'bumble bee landing strip' just a few days ago. 😊
My borage has started to followed after a decidedly dodgy start with the seeds and I'm absolutely thrilled. 😊
hurrah x
Looking forward to doing this. I’m in Caithness though and my flowers aren’t out yet, another week or two and the garden will be in bloom.
go for it in a fortnight x
Very Nice!
thank you x
How I love this! I did it last year and am excited to go out in about an hour and do it this day!
go for it x
@@theflowerfarmer Done!
Thank you for all you do to help us stay sane you are amazing!I have a picture of an arrangement for the 30 stem challenge but not sure how i get it to you ,would love some constructive criticism while I gain confidence!I have been asked to make a cascade bouquet for the 3rd wedding I have ever done so am very much a nervous novice.I was thinking of combining a hand tied posie type with a trailing one ...what would you do ?I am reluctant to use any foam and and concerned how to keep the trailing one alive if its wired ,was hoping to make them the night before and combine on the day..happy to buy you some coffees for some professional advice!1
I would make a hand tie and add longer stems to create the shower feel - two posies tied together would be too heavy - have a practice and you'll feel more confident x
Just beautiful! Silly question: “Do your clients return the jam jars for you to reuse or are they theirs to keep? 😊
they often return the jars - not always - but often x
😊😊
thank you x
I couldn’t cut 10 stems in my garden for the moment. First a full month of rain, now a full 3 weeks of to much sun….
oh weather! x
Devine!
Thankyou x
I wish, we are so far behind nothing is blooming let alone growing. 😔
it's been a tough spring x
