Hey Dr. Always a fan of healing foods. My ancestors in Poland ate certain black currant fruit and I always figured that was why they had really strong visual acuity- the same things in the grapes or almost the same ingredients. We were lucky we had real food there.
Hello Dr. Liu. I have been watching your videos for the last 2 weeks. I have started my health journey since then. I feel great and have lost weight too. I was wondering have you ever done any research on natto (fermented soy beans) and what are its health benefits and properties. I love eating it. Thank you
Great video. I've made some changes and now a plant based diet. My dad was sent home to die with Dementia and Parkinson Disease and is still here due to changing his diet. We take sea moss every day!!
And yet the most difficult brains to heal, after injury, according to neurosurgeons, are brains limited to a plant based diet. Very glad you’re enjoying your father’s longevity (I hope he is, too) but id look further into all of this, unbiasedly and just always keep learning.
Any source of that? All studies I see suggest otherwise but it's initial stage of research. (also, neurosurgeons? They don't really study things like that)
OMG! I don’t remember whether it was in this video or another or yours that you recommended using the dates and stuffing them with peanut butter, rolling them in cocoa, but I just bought a bag of large Medjool Dates, stuffed one with organic peanut butter - then melted 85% dark chocolate and rolled it in the chocolate, covered with crushed peanuts and left in the fridge on a piece of baking sheet and had that for dessert! It was incredible! Thank you for that most indulgent dessert recipe! ♥️
Thank you for your thorough explanation of these healthy foods. I feel the trends of the day and our overall myopic view of food has taken away common sense and replaced it with fear. The foods your describing is how our ancestors ate but we have gotten so far away from it. We have also gotten away from growing our own food or supporting local growers. If we are worried about food being sprayed we can take steps to grow our own or seek out orgsnicslly grown food. Thank you again for your content.
To make a substitute for Gatorade, I use Bigelow white teas. They come in many flavors. Blueberry, raspberry, apple ECT. I boil five bags on the stove in one quart of water. Let it steep for about 10 mins. After 5 minutes cooling I add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of raw honey. Then pour it over 2 quarts of ice. Fake a rade. 😂 For stronger fruit taste just increase tea bags to your preference. It has antioxidants hydrating without the caffeine.
Sorry. White tea has caffeine. And boiling it destroys the antioxidants. Steep it at no more than 190° F. Also, the body metabolizes any honey exactly the same as refined sugar. It’s a myth that honey is healthy.
With the amount of information that I just heard and learned from this 41 minute video, I’ll be waiting for my undergrad degree to show up in the mail from the Healthy Immune Doctor. 🙌🏽👩🏻🎓 TONS of info in the video!!!!
I found this really informative. I'm 21 and i use retinoids/retinols in my skincare. I knew that pregnant people cant use it in their skincare, but I had no clue that if someone takes retinoids they cant donate blood! Good to know!
Regarding Vitamin D: I live in So Cal and I’m retired and a gardener. But I tested on the low side for vitamin D, and now I supplement with D3 most of the year. What I realized is that in winter I wear long pants and long sleeved shirts. And in summer, I garden early and late because it’s too hot in the middle of the day. So it’s really only on pleasant days in spring and fall that I get enough sun on my skin to make sufficient vitamin D. No wonder I was low!
I do believe it’s been found that those in the most sunny climates of the US are found to be those with the highest deficiency in vitamin D, for just the reasons you stated.
WOW!!! Thank you for this video. I have also subscribed. The list for vitamin D deficiency was great. I have several problems on the list. My wife and daughter as well. We plan on getting our levels checked. If my levels are fine, at least I have more knowledge and tools to fix my problems. I'm glad I found your channel.
Maqui berry should definitely be on the list. Maqui berries contain delphinidum, which has been found to prevent blood sugar from rising, even when given with a high-glycemic meal.
I broke down and brought some grapes because I was really craving them a short time ago. Although I avoid seedless fruit because somewhere in my mind theyre somewhat an abomination. Funny thing is they clearly said seedless and when I checked for quality/sweetness, it was just alright but as advertised "seedless" and kind of bland so I picked a different pack that was richer in color🍇 without trying it. How about I got home and my 1st bite had a crunch to it😳 4 to 5 seeds in almost everyone and I love grape seed almost as much as the meat and skin😁. All praises ☝🏾!
Yes! I had that problem too, a few weeks ago! I was very annoyed at my seeds. But, I picked out my seeds. Did you still eat the seeds? Should I have swallowed them, or some of them, instead of picking them all out you think? I definitely can't chew them... 😬 I also avoid pomegranates because I can't deal with the huge seeds.
@@feliciagaffney1998 On the contrary I absolutely love the seeds; I thoroughly chew them. You should blend it if you can't chew the seeds. Pomegranate is another one of my favorite fruits🤤; after I work all the pulp off I chew the seeds the same. It has a nutty rich taste to it; probably should try milking the seeds because I am sure it's rich in nutrients. I'm convinced that the protein found in plants are more than efficient and better for the body than animal flesh. Not to go off track but my diet is 90% plant-based and people think I work out and take supplements...(Genesis 1:29 ; Daniel 1). Peace and blessings
The fruit without seeds is GMO. Get the seeds. You can dry them out and take a rolling pun to it. blend them with something. Apple seeds are good for us too @@feliciagaffney1998
Great video---I learned so much about the benefits of eating grapes-- (in spite of the naysayers who say they have too much sugar--that's what a glucose monitor is for)--I would ONLY ADD ONE IMPORTANT thing....CLEAN YOUR GRAPES and vegetables with BioPur or something similar to ensure you are not consuming pesticides --even on so called Organic.
I heard of a study where people drinking pomegranate juice and eating dates at the same time every day helped reduce plaque. I was thinking, why not just eat pomegranate seeds and dates? Are you familiar with this study? Thank you for this video, it had excellent information.
Thank you for this lovely encouraging post:) I have a household patient w a very sweet tooth medical induced but for same reason must watch their blood sugars. Very important point about fiber billers - they can be dangerous with some medical conditions but often prescribed . I would add pear and gooseberry , blueberry and redcurrant too.

Persimmon looks almost jelly like when it is truly ripe and ready to eat. I grow Mulberries high in antioxidants, great, often over looked fruit. Moderation is key, and I love dates sliced down the middle with a Brazil nut inserted for selenium.

Zeaxanthin is very high in orange peppers, which also contain a lot of vitamin C, lutein is easy to get from dark green leafy vegetables. I was told the floaters I could see were caused by macular degeneration, years ago. I haven't seen any floaters after eating an orange pepper with green leafy every day for a few months.
You want to eat organic grapes, blueberries, strawberries and spinach. These aren’t just on the top pesticides list, the pesticides harm the humans that gather them.
To be fair, I'm loving this podcast, and sticking to my concerns about grape seeds being undigestible, and the pesticide concern, until after I finish watching this LONG video.
Lazy consumers don't want seeds, seedless watermelon around here taste bland. I had an auntie, bless her, who was so impatient she would only eat watermelon that was cut up with the seeds removed (by someone else)!

@HealthyImmuneDoc Thank you, Dr.Liu 🙂 I like all the fruits you mention. This is not bad at all. It points to delectable yummy cuisine. 'Healthy food is unpleasant to eat' is such an outright lie ! I eat healthy simply because I love these tasty fruits/foods you have covered. In some cases, a good recipe is the right resource to make a vegetable produce into a tasty dish. On the whole Asian continent with all its multitude of countries & cultures, their different cuisines/culinary prowess make lip-smacking food very very well.
This is an incredibly informed, educational video! Thank you!! Suggestion: search for a better audio system. I have to turn up the volume to hear the ends of your sentences because there is a considerable drop in pitch and volume. Even at regular volume, the audio on your videos distorts a little. That distortion of course increases noticeably at a higher volume. I don’t have this problem with other influencers whose pitch also drops at the end of sentences - their video audio doesn’t distort when volume increases. I have to really concentrate on your voice because your videos are jam-packed with important information that I don’t want to miss. It’s hard to change the pitch habits of one’s speech, so to be understood, crisp, clear audio becomes all the more important for your videos.
I've 'been off' sugar AND simple carbs for about 3 mos. Whoopee! I don't have a weight surplus to begin with, but I am now more and more conscious of how I eat. I've bypassed dates because I thought they had too many carbs to fiber ratio wise but what the Doc says about 'em has given me paws. meaning I'll grab some next time, if I think of it.

I stuff them with almond butter! So delicious!❤❤
Why does nobody ever spend more than 10 seconds tking about raisons?
@ 😂
Thank you for your thorough explanation of these healthy foods. I feel the trends of the day and our overall myopic view of food has taken away common sense and replaced it with fear. The foods your describing is how our ancestors ate but we have gotten so far away from it. We have also gotten away from growing our own food or supporting local growers. If we are worried about food being sprayed we can take steps to grow our own or seek out orgsnicslly grown food. Thank you again for your content.
Fantastic !
SO very educational, such a wealth of information, thank you Doctor !
I love this brand ! I can drink it without sweeteners
@@behaviorwellnesssolutions it's good.
Sorry, white tea has caffeine. Also, boiling it destroys nutrients.
Sorry. White tea has caffeine. And boiling it destroys the antioxidants. Steep it at no more than 190° F.
Also, the body metabolizes any honey exactly the same as refined sugar. It’s a myth that honey is healthy.
Lol! I love the idea of the DMV giving out grapes
Thank you for sharing your wisdom and knowledge!
With the amount of information that I just heard and learned from this 41 minute video, I’ll be waiting for my undergrad degree to show up in the mail from the Healthy Immune Doctor. 🙌🏽👩🏻🎓 TONS of info in the video!!!!
such an information rich presentation. I applaud your tenacity, and admire your memory. It is amazing.. Thank you so much.
Thanks for sharing!!
I do believe it’s been found that those in the most sunny climates of the US are found to be those with the highest deficiency in vitamin D, for just the reasons you stated.
Also, without adequate magnesium vit D will not be absorbed.
I always say natural food is the key for health
I also avoid pomegranates because I can't deal with the huge seeds.
@@jacobgenekins4932 thank you. Maybe I need to rethink about the seeds I end up biting. 😄💜
Good luck finding the seeded grapes...they are out there but you may have to look high and low...and go to Several different stores to find them.
The fruit without seeds is GMO. Get the seeds. You can dry them out and take a rolling pun to it. blend them with something. Apple seeds are good for us too @@feliciagaffney1998
So thankful for your education. Your videos keep me trying to eat healthier.
I love your channel, doc. Please continue on what you’re doing. Lovelots from Switzerland!
So happy that I found your channel. You present such valuable evidence-based information !
Thank you so much I am vegan, thank you so much you're teaching me a lot and a lot of people as well that want to lear.
Dr Liu, thank you I enjoy your videos and motivation to eat healthy foods!
I heard of a study where people drinking pomegranate juice and eating dates at the same time every day helped reduce plaque. I was thinking, why not just eat pomegranate seeds and dates? Are you familiar with this study? Thank you for this video, it had excellent information.
I think that was done on mice.
I eat pomegranate seeds every day (frozen) & I never get colds or flu. Dates not so much…so sweet 😊
I eat fresh pomegranates when they are in season. I have an addiction to them. I believe the seeds cleanse your intestinal walls.
We Love this Channel!! Thank you Dr LIu
I love your channel. Thank you for taking the time to educate us.
Please, more of TCM. Thanks
Thank you, never thought about plum salsa! I will try your plum salsa, your recipe. And may be garbanzo cookies too. 😋
Cant wait to see this channel blow up!! Thank you!!!
Thank you sooooooo much for all this science based information. You rock Doc! God bless you.
So glad I found you, thank you!! ❤

Could you please explain how we sign up for the weekly email with recipes that you mentioned? I'm very interested in signing up!
I miss so many of the fruits you talked about. I used to eat a lot of them when I was in Hong Kong. But I have been a missionary in Guatemala for 5 years now, and we don’t have any of these fruits you mentioned in Guatemala besides grapes. I really miss 荔枝,龍眼,噢,你沒有提及,很miss榴蓮also😄!
I love listening to you. There's a lot of educational and good information. I subscribed to your channel. Thanks for making informative videos to help educate people! God bless you!
Doc, you are the truth! Love your videos! Wish all physicians were this passionate & knowledgeable. It's hard to find any fruits with seeds but I'm on a mission now 👍🏽💯😉
Persimmon looks almost jelly like when it is truly ripe and ready to eat. I grow Mulberries high in antioxidants, great, often over looked fruit. Lychee is way better than logan in my opinion, can’t wait for Lychee season. Some can have a rose like flavor too. Moderation is key, and I love dates sliced down the middle with a Brazil nut inserted for selenium.
Thank you! Could you talk about exercise and how it affects your health soon?
Husband went on the Dr. John McDougall diet as he could hardly walk and had high cholesterol. 220-140 cholesterol without meds and his over all health improved dramatically!! Quickly!
For sweet treat I do strawberries, blueberries and banana shake with almond milk
Thank you for that informative video. I really learned so much. I try not to miss your videos because I am always open to learning at 73. Blessings to you!

You are helping people with Diabetes.
All medicines have good and bad effects and fruits are a very simple relatively mild nutrition-packed food! Thank you for recommending! Grapes are so good but why are fruits so expensive at the supermarket? Appreciate your vid. XO
Thankyou for these straightforward easy to understand videos. Love them.
Great wisdom: to change the world, one must change within first. Thank you for the life changing information and the sincere healthy blessings.
Wow great information, I will listen again and make notes, Thank you!!
You are excellent! I am watching all your videos now ! Thank you Dr
Yes. Grapes are my go to. I have T2, and grapes don't spike my sugars at all.
Just had a pack of seeded black grapes and they were delicious. I got them in sainsburys
I only find seeded grapes from Sainsburys aswell
Her skin is perfect
You want to eat organic grapes, blueberries, strawberries and spinach. These aren’t just on the top pesticides list, the pesticides harm the humans that gather them.
Two tablespoons of baking soda added to large bowl of water, soak veg, fruits in it 15 minutes. Works.❤
only who gather them ? also who eats get affected cause it got absorbed no?

@annettedenis4312 why the look of shock?
Love the mix of new and steady faves. I was wondering about the Hermes bronzer.
To be fair, I'm loving this podcast, and sticking to my concerns about grape seeds being undigestible, and the pesticide concern, until after I finish watching this LONG video.
Hi. I put seeded 🍇 grapes in my green smoothies. I have a concord vine.
Fresh 🍉 ,🍇, 🥕, and 🍒 are my go to when I want something sweet.
Dr.William Li studied the effect of diet in cataract and other eye problems.
I am looking for a salt replacement can do a video on it please?
Thank you.
My husband loves grapes and eats them every day, guess I should join him.
In the future, could you make a video about why they don’t have seeds and grapes or white they removed seeds from grapes
Lazy consumers don't want seeds, seedless watermelon around here taste bland. I had an auntie, bless her, who was so impatient she would only eat watermelon that was cut up with the seeds removed (by someone else)!
Fresh fruit and veggies are the best !
Dear dr. Thank you soooooo much for this beautiful video!!❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you, Doctor, for all this information and wisdom.
De. Liu is a blessing to our planet!
Great use of RUclips, thank you.
Your channel is a blessing. Thank you for sharing such invaluable information. You are helping so many of us outside of the medical field.
Thank you for your encouraging words!
Dr Liu, Thank you for the videos. I have one question. In your videos you talk about bread and fruit and tell us you eat them. How do you stay thin eating bread and fruit. I love them and cheese.I can not think of life without bread and cheese. Please tell us about what you eat in a given day.
Here in Turkiye there’s so much variety of fruits& vegetables. Also excellent sea food🫶🏻 Our ancestors were farmers& the originals of so many fruits have seeds inside. Thanks God it’s still conserved in the eastern part of the world. Thanks Dr. for reminding the originals.🧡
Can you please start a podcast?? Or do you already have one! I would love to be able to listen on my daily commutes
Even uploading videos onto Spotify would be amazing! Love your content ♡
Since organic grapes are overpriced, I BLEND them (frozen) after cleaning with ACV. I HOPE the blades crack most of the seeds. I could be wrong...
Wow, your videos are informative!
Please provide the Link the the grape seed extract you take as you have stated in your video.
Thank you
@HealthyImmuneDoc Thank you, Dr.Liu 🙂 I like all the fruits you mention.
I’ve been enjoying your videos, all the well researched information is helpful!!
What about dates for sweeteners ?
They work well and taste delicious.
Brilliant! Thanks for sharing!
Yay, you!!
Love the pun.
Thank you
That was very helpful & interesting
Hello from CA. Dealing with inflammation, peripheral vision loss, chocolate cravings and enjoying your videos! 💙
sounds like me. they were testing me for myasthenia gravis. Am being told my peripheral double vision is because of diabetes nerve damage. In other words, they don't know.

How does monk fruit sweetener compare to date powder?
Dried figs are good too
