    I just love it when Kirk is like "don't make fun of me man, I don't know anything about Raiders" and throughout the whole thing he's just happy to be playing and it just cracks me up when he comes out of the bus, shouting "Raiders! Raiders" like he doesn't much care but just trying to support the gig. it's excellent.

      He is a complete scapegoat with fans and its a completely incorrect rewriting of history. Like he somehow wrote the black album. The entire black album was fully written and demoed before he came in. Apart from tempos thats the only thing he really inputted in. And St Anger aside, the black album, load, reload, garage inc and s and m is the best sound metallica ever had on records. People just shit on it because they dont like the tunes which is fair enough but he is an excellent producer. Also, st anger sounding the way it did is as much on the band as him. They all liked the snare and it was lars' initial idea to turn his snare off. Id personally like to see him back with Metallica.

      Bob was a solid bass player but he doesn't have the insane ability that Rob has. I can't believe how many people don't realize quite how advanced Rob is technically, but the guy is, while perhaps lacking in personality compared to Cliff and Jason, the most consistently excellent bass player Metallica has had.

      @SirPhilMcCrackinVonBeggington 2 года назад +6

      @@plasmakitten4261 Not trying to argue (too much) but I saw an interesting conversation between basically bob and Metallica. And Bob's point was that there are TONS of incredibly talented session players out there who can play the material with ease, but Metallica being a brand were looking for an image to go along with the bass player, and that is the reason Trujillo was settled on. I don't dispute that the guy is a great bass player, but he was chosen more for his image than just his raw bass playing ability.

    Metallica needs new management. The band wants to play before the game and their managers say no cause they won't make money off of it. Jeez, what about just playing and having fun?

    • @maxbarlow4595
      @maxbarlow4595 8 лет назад +43

      Besides the issue(s) about James and Echobrain, the management was another big reason why Jason left. He talks about it in a 1 hour long interview conducted by Scuzz tv. After a long time built up, he got tired of his managers' robotic behavior in the never ending machine the band was caught in. When he called a meeting to meet with just the other guys and himself in a hotel room, but somehow, the management got wind of the meeting and followed James, Lars, and Kirk to the hotel with their permission with Phil Towle as well. At the beginning of the meeting to the middle of it, the original four met ( after the management and Phil Towle were pushed away by Jason). Then the management interrupted and invited themselves in and just robotically handed out announcements to everyone like they didn't care about the fatalistic issue at hand. That was the big example and catalyst for Jason's final decision to leave the band. He was

      annoyed by them and also partially felt betrayed by them (Q Prime).

    • @destructionnl8165
      @destructionnl8165 6 лет назад +21

      I've seen that interview, you're right. That could very well have been the last push for Jason to make his decision. Management didnt give a f*ck about the 4 guys, noone ever looked at them deep in the eye to ask "How are you, how's your life going, are you feeling ok?" or anything like that. Management that only cares about making money, the guys had become their slave at that point.

      What do you expect, managers are always gonna think of the money. That's the only way they know how to think. That's their purpose. And that said, Q Prime are a damn good management company.

    Bob never gets enough credit. Brought them out of the 80’s and turned them into the biggest metal band on the planet. Then held them together through the absolute cringe fest of them being uninspired while making St. Anger. Now they have a producer who is the most YES MAN they could get. Fidelman’s production sucks
