Loved seeing you create your bowl. I'm in love with making these bowls. Each one is so unique! I was interested in seeing what timing you used, as that is so critical. Having lots of drips makes for interesting bowl but those tentacles often break easily and I prefer the somewhat more firm edge as you achieved. I use ClearCast 7050 and use a free form mold made from clothes line with non shrinking cellophane gift wrap laid over it. The timing for me varies depending if I preheat my resin (I work in a basement) and how firm I want my bowl to be. I usually let the resin sit for 3 to 3-1/2 hours. I use a candle vase or bowl as a form. I'm looking forward to seeing you make more bowls or vases in the future..

Just found your videos today. Great, thank you! I'm thinking of doing resin water features for a couple of fairy gardens. The geodes without a center hole are perfect for ponds, but I was trying to figure out how to do waterfalls. Maybe epoxy some stones together for the base, then make a silicone outline for a rectangular stream, and drape over the rocks later as you do your bowls?

Thank you SO much for your teaching In this video. I have not yet “played” with the resin.
I’ve been laid up since having a brain tumor and surgery to remove it....and literally forced into retirement after having enjoyed my career of 29 years of being a Nurse. Also currently Waiting for surgery for 2 Uber specialists to co-case on me, doing a number of “major” surgeries on me at one time. I desperately do need the surgeries… But here in California where I am… They are doing no surgeries except for emergency ones… or non emergency (“elective”???) surgeries only on an outpatient status. In spite of my begging and pleading… The surgeons will not let me go home day of surgery because of the extensive surgeries I need done. My surgeries have been scheduled twice and canceled twice! It’s just crazy!…
So since my activities are limited at the moment… (And will be while recovering)...I was thrilled to find so many RUclips videos on resin art. I have been “studying” how to do fluid art and resin art. I absolutely love your bowl as I love all things sparkly and purple; any shade!😋 So I look forward to playing in all of this and hope I can come out with some things worth using as gifts and for things around the home. I definitely want to try to make a bowl similar to yours!
I do have a question...And more questions… LOL if you don’t mind… I purchased this huge thing of resin… By MAS. I know to only mix what I need for my project.
    So thus my questions:
🔹How do you know.how much resin you need to mix For each project?
🔸How do you know how much time to let a project set before you can move it In order to form/shape it?
I’ve heard a lot of people letting resin sit for a few minutes prior to working with it.
🔹How do you know how long to let it sit prior to working with it...(Especially when that takes away from the “working time”.)?
And last question for this morning:
I only purchased Mica powders And not alcohol ink.
🔸Do I have to have alcohol ink or are the mica powders perfectly fine to use in my resin art (as long as I mix it completely)?
Thank you for your time and again, your step-by-step was wonderfully done and I totally appreciate it! I have subscribed to Your channel and I have also saved your video in order for me to attempt to make the same thing.
Thank you again and God bless you and may you remain healthy and strong!😋
    Victorya

Hello Victorya , I am so sorry you are going through so much crazy stress right now and I will be sending you healing and positive vibes.. I hope that they get you taken care of that is more then elective and just ridiculous.. I am so sorry .. I will try to answer your questions as best as I can and thanks for watching
      1. I have a habit of mixing too much resin but i use the extra to make magnets to give in as gifts in all of my orders.. but there is a resin calculator, but you kind of get to know by experience
      www.resinobsession.com/resin-calculator/
      2. Depending on your resin it should set for 3-5 hours .. it should not be sticky to the touch but still bendy
3.I never let mine sit .. I work with KSRESIN and its pretty thick already ... it has 45 min plus working time.. The only time I let it sit is if im trying to do something super thick like blood drips I actually have a tutorial on that
4.Mica is just fine.. Alcohol inks is just another form.. I mean its truly awesome to have both
If you have anymore questions let me now.. Take care of yourself .. Hang in there ... Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers

Just gorgeous! A suggestion to make the inside of the bowl smoother would be to use a sturdier plastic. I wish I knew the name but I saw another video by another free form resin artist who used this heavier plastic for hers which appeared to alleviate the saran wrap wrinkles. I know you like to use household items but your stunning bowl has all the tell tale signs of premature aging. BTW, I had no idea you could do a pour like this with resin! Thanks so much!
