- What a fantastic song, such a cool recording in a lot of different ways. I decided to try and make the instrumental more closely resemble the hopeless sense of sadness in the lyrics. I think it came out wonderfully, and I hope to put this on streaming in a few weeks after my FIRST OFFICIAL ORIGINAL SINGLE COMES OUT ON AUG 29! Thanks for listening.

I still can't believe she's gone. It makes me feel sick every time I hear one of her songs, and I'm not typically like that at all. She had one of the most beautiful and compelling voices.

It was more of a Smiths-Sundays chill vibe song. I loved when they came out, they sounded like everything I was already listening to, put in a blender with their own touches on top and that gorgeous voice.
Nah, when Linger was released, the emo scene were bands like Sunny Day Real Estate and Jawbreaker. If you look into them you will hear there is a huge difference in sound.

So when I first came across your covers a few years ago I thought "Oh, this is a fun, clever gimmick." I don't think that anymore. This isn't a gimmick anymore, they are just legit good covers.
Something that sets Alex's covers apart from a lot of 'this song but a different genre' covers is that he clearly respects the source material. He's not doing it for a bit, he just genuinely loves these songs and wants to show them off in a new way. They always slap!

Yeah, I too found this a surprisingly fitting tribute to her. It’s interesting that while they changed the arrangement, her vocals were so iconic that I can still hear a bit of Irish accent in this VERY American version.
Yeah I like the Bad Wolves cover of Zombie alright but this hit different for me.

I really can't believe how good your stuff is and how quickly you can churn it out. And the really crazy part is that you're still noticably improving! Pretty much every song is better than the last one, but that's pretty subjective. Objectively speaking, I've noticed that your drumming chops have gotten incredible over the past few months. And in this one, your scream vocals are what really stands out for me. Kudos, my dude. I literally have a spotify playlist for when I'm playing certain video games and like 20 of your songs are in it haha! I think the best part about these videos is that you're clearly having the absolute time of your life playing these songs. It takes a TON of work to make something like this, but you're still making sure to take the time to have fun while you do it.

As someone who grew up in 99 - early aughts, your covers, your songs, even just the sound of your voice is pure early 2000s.
You are truly, truly talented at this.

Linger is one of those songs that could legitimately go on for another 10 minutes and I’d still be listening, it’s that emotionally high.
This takes it to another level, pulling it into the genre it was meant for, I believe, if only they were 10 years or so younger. If this was the original, it would have still been the classic hit of its time. Perfectly done.
