I like Mojo's expression when Pat says people like him are making millions and millions of dollars. Mojo is wondering where his millions are.

I think they vastly overestimated Mojo Nixon's paycheck.

Pat Buchanan acting concerned about racism and heralding the virtues of Chuck Berry is the highest irony.

When Pat Buchannon came off a rant about the "garbage" songs about sex and held up Check Berry, someone should have asked him about "My Dingaling"

RIP Mojo, you are and will always be the real deal. (even w/Buchanan interrruping him every chance, Mojo still holds his own and makes solid points)

And THIS show looked like the lowest point of US culture when it was on. This crap is actually tons better than almost all the talking head yokelism playing today.

The irony of Pat Buchanan calling Mein Kamph evil and filthy back then while supporting a former President who it has been said kept that book on his desk is the height of irony.

I’d like to thank the conservative movement (and Tipper Gore’s PMRC) for all the free publicity they gave countless bands in the 80s.
When I got interested in punk rock, I called up the PMRC, asked them for info about a bunch of bands, and gave them my address. Three days later I got a thick manila envelope with tons of photocopied lyric sheets, cool photos, flyers, and even a large portion of a Henry Rollins book sent to my house. That stuff went straight up on my wall.
    Thanks, Tipper!

To be fair, the warning labels haven't stopped anyone from buying an album they wanted.

Of course there's no discussion of the target of discussion being hip-hop/ black music. Pat's use of Chuck Berry being a rock icon is sickening.

When conservatives would reference Elvis and Chuck as "purity and light". Probably listed Jerry Lee Lewis and Spade Cooley in the first draft! "And production is terrible nowadays! Gimmie Phil Spector!"

If they wanted to crack down on dirty music today, you think they'd be going after Mojo Nixon and Slayer and NWA and all these old bands that the old people who make laws love? Hell no! They'd be going after the artists of today who are making an impact. They liked the exact same shit when they were young but now they're mad that young people now get to do that and they don't get to be young anymore that's all it is.

Hold on.... PAT BUCHANAN (of all people) is talking about anti-semitism in others? That's pretty rich, considering Pat's own history of anti-semitism, going back to when he worked for Nixon (not Mojo.... the other one).

My god, when I watch Crossfire from the 80s and 90s, it makes me realize one of the reasons I was so depressed! I love how the mantle of white privilege gives conservatives the confidence to think they are the arbiters of everyone's taste. They take that role shamelessly, arrogantly, obnoxiously, again and again. It's wonderful that Jean Dixon and Pat Buchananan know what "garbage" is on a universal artistic level. Very comforting that they have discovered such a universal truth and can share it with the rest of us. So thoughtful of them. I wish Mojo Nixon would have challenged them on this point in a more coherent way. He seems lucid and capable of doing so, but kind of gets lost in his humorous rantings.

Mojo makes some points. I don't like governmental censorship. However, I'd try to limit what my kid saw and heard. Buchanan is also right that there's some truly poisonous stuff out there. Should the industry label controversial stuff?
