And THIS show looked like the lowest point of US culture when it was on. This crap is actually tons better than almost all the talking head yokelism playing today.
The irony of Pat Buchanan calling Mein Kamph evil and filthy back then while supporting a former President who it has been said kept that book on his desk is the height of irony.
I’d like to thank the conservative movement (and Tipper Gore’s PMRC) for all the free publicity they gave countless bands in the 80s. When I got interested in punk rock, I called up the PMRC, asked them for info about a bunch of bands, and gave them my address. Three days later I got a thick manila envelope with tons of photocopied lyric sheets, cool photos, flyers, and even a large portion of a Henry Rollins book sent to my house. That stuff went straight up on my wall. Thanks, Tipper!
"Everybody will defend Chuck Berry." - Oh, aye, that's the spirit, God himself wanted him on the radio singing to children about playing with his ding-a-ling! 😀
Agreed, she seems like a professional wet blanket. Apparently, she used to be one of those astrological “psychics” and led the family of a murder victim to think she was still alive. One sick puppy, that Jeane Dixon.
5:40 -- One fascist using another fascist's book to promote a fascist idea about how dangerous fascist ideas are. It's like looking in two mirrors at the same time.
When conservatives would reference Elvis and Chuck as "purity and light". Probably listed Jerry Lee Lewis and Spade Cooley in the first draft! "And production is terrible nowadays! Gimmie Phil Spector!"
If they wanted to crack down on dirty music today, you think they'd be going after Mojo Nixon and Slayer and NWA and all these old bands that the old people who make laws love? Hell no! They'd be going after the artists of today who are making an impact. They liked the exact same shit when they were young but now they're mad that young people now get to do that and they don't get to be young anymore that's all it is.
I love how the same people who complain about the "nanny state" over the obesity epidemic now were once trying to install a ... NANNY STATE! for ideas...
Lol right! Those Khazars Gotta always remind everyone how reviled they think they are..they have a dog on both sides of the fight..bah, comparing MOJEEWOJEE to Hitlers Mien kamph is ludicrous! Me and The Big Meanies MC saw him in concert, and invited him to the after party, dedicated to him of course, so natch he attended! Best night ever !
Hold on.... PAT BUCHANAN (of all people) is talking about anti-semitism in others? That's pretty rich, considering Pat's own history of anti-semitism, going back to when he worked for Nixon (not Mojo.... the other one).
My god, when I watch Crossfire from the 80s and 90s, it makes me realize one of the reasons I was so depressed! I love how the mantle of white privilege gives conservatives the confidence to think they are the arbiters of everyone's taste. They take that role shamelessly, arrogantly, obnoxiously, again and again. It's wonderful that Jean Dixon and Pat Buchananan know what "garbage" is on a universal artistic level. Very comforting that they have discovered such a universal truth and can share it with the rest of us. So thoughtful of them. I wish Mojo Nixon would have challenged them on this point in a more coherent way. He seems lucid and capable of doing so, but kind of gets lost in his humorous rantings.
Yeah, I can see why this show wound up in the trash after a while, especially after Tucker Carlson took over co-hosting. Mojo is the only one making sense
Mojo makes some points. I don't like governmental censorship. However, I'd try to limit what my kid saw and heard. Buchanan is also right that there's some truly poisonous stuff out there. Should the industry label controversial stuff?
I like Mojo's expression when Pat says people like him are making millions and millions of dollars. Mojo is wondering where his millions are.
To quote Mojo "where the hell is my money?!"
I think they vastly overestimated Mojo Nixon's paycheck.
Pat Buchanan acting concerned about racism and heralding the virtues of Chuck Berry is the highest irony.
When Pat Buchannon came off a rant about the "garbage" songs about sex and held up Check Berry, someone should have asked him about "My Dingaling"
RIP Mojo, you are and will always be the real deal. (even w/Buchanan interrruping him every chance, Mojo still holds his own and makes solid points)
RIP Mojo!! Been a fan since almost the beginning, and this type of stuff is exactly why I love him.
just found out about him today and i’m obsessed with this guy, seems like he was an absolute legend
"Everyone will defend Chuck Berry" - this aged well.
And THIS show looked like the lowest point of US culture when it was on. This crap is actually tons better than almost all the talking head yokelism playing today.

Who, Kennedy?

Thanks, Tipper!
To be fair, the warning labels haven't stopped anyone from buying an album they wanted.
R.I.P. Mojo!!!
Mojo really had Pat bouncing from one idiotic argument to the other. Talk about moving the goalposts.
Government telling it's citizens what they should or shouldn't listen to. I thought right wingers hated that? Pure Hipocracy.
Tipper Gore wasn't right wing.
"Everybody will defend Chuck Berry." - Oh, aye, that's the spirit, God himself wanted him on the radio singing to children about playing with his ding-a-ling! 😀
Mojo > Pat & Jean. He got it right
Of course there's no discussion of the target of discussion being hip-hop/ black music. Pat's use of Chuck Berry being a rock icon is sickening.
Mojo let them speak and they wouldn't let him finish a sentence...
Thing is mojo doesn't need to finish a statement to get his point across.
What? People that don't like free speech don't let people finish what they are saying? Tell me it isn't so.
That lady must be fun at parties
Agreed, she seems like a professional wet blanket. Apparently, she used to be one of those astrological “psychics” and led the family of a murder victim to think she was still alive. One sick puppy, that Jeane Dixon.
I keep thinking that uptight Karen was 55 but what's scary is she might have only been like 40
Mojo was right.
Shout out to Rigor Mortis!
"Filthy ideas?" No such thing.
Two guys I like and disagree with both at the same time LOL
5:40 -- One fascist using another fascist's book to promote a fascist idea about how dangerous fascist ideas are. It's like looking in two mirrors at the same time.
So he thinks Mojo Nixon (RIP) should police the record industry?
Mojo should have really said I’m not making millions of dollars.
If someone uses the word "filthy", you can be sure they think Pat Boone is a little risque. 🤣

How are warning labels a nanny state ? Thanks to Al Gore we ended up with warning labels and no one suffered
4:50 WTF does "anti-Semitic" have to do with all of these other subjects? LOL
Lol right! Those Khazars Gotta always remind everyone how reviled they think they are..they have a dog on both sides of the fight..bah, comparing MOJEEWOJEE to Hitlers Mien kamph is ludicrous! RIP MOJO ....A true hero of free speech, good luck on your next journey!

Mojo 1, Christian Right -7, MOJO FOR THE WIN

White privilege does not exist
the more things change the more they stay the same.
Remember Satan wants to use freedom to promote sin
You literally have to yell to make Pat shut up for a second.
Mark the date of this interview as a rare time when a republican had an issue with a big business not making a ton of money.
Yeah, I can see why this show wound up in the trash after a while, especially after Tucker Carlson took over co-hosting. Mojo is the only one making sense
God fucking bless Mojo Nixon
news hasn't changed much.
Mojo makes some points. I don't like governmental censorship. However, I'd try to limit what my kid saw and heard. Buchanan is also right that there's some truly poisonous stuff out there. Should the industry label controversial stuff?
GO MOJO!!!
Funny. Still relevant. Opposite sides
Rigor Mortis! 🤘
Mojo needs to get saved
Elvis is everywhere.
Mojo saved rock n roll.
