Osaka is one of my favorite places to visit in Japan . Doutonbori is the best area to try all the tastiest local snacks . You need to try okonomiyaki, takoyaki, and Ichiran ramen there next time . There’s also a place where you can get an ice cream sandwich inside melon bread The utter look of fear on Gaz’s face when riding the Ferris wheel though 😂
There was so much on our list to get but we just didn’t have enough time and I’ll be honest we ran out of cash and energy so didn’t get as much as we intended to! Next time we will be more prepared and make more time to explore!
Great video post! As an additional information about the tour of Osaka Castle, the castle that appears in the dramatized "Shogun" is this Osaka Castle. In reality, the walls of the castle are from that time, but the current castle will be burned down in the battle of the drama "Shogun" (Osaka Winter Campaign) if the sequel comes out. If there is a sequel to the drama, I think it will be deeply emotional to watch it with that in mind. Thank you for enjoying Japan.
I’ve still got residual trauma from that Ferris Wheel 🤣 People don’t understand unless they’ve been because it’s so deceptive from street level and doesn’t look that high. That stomach lurch when it goes over the top…my feet are still trembling 🙈 You packed a lot in for one afternoon - we did almost exactly the same Tokyo train times and baggage drop-off near Universal etc. but still missed the castle (too busy eating 🤣) so I can’t wait to go back. The Okonomiyaki I had there will never be topped!
Haha right! It’s the noises that it makes that got us! I wish we’d had time to try more of the food (and we didn’t take enough cash out that day) but next time we will be spending waaaay more time wandering Dotonbori eating all the food! 😄
c'mon gaz, after so so much coaster conquered, still afraid of a wheel only goes 0.001 miles per hour 😂😂also you guys should try the local food especially seafood (not sushi)💖

hmmm ... I would have gone to the Osaka historical museum. It's extremely interesting and there are incredible views of the castle. Sadly the castle was completely trashed during the Summer Campaign of 1615.
