Ngong Ping is a definite must for anyone visiting HK. We got lucky when we visitied back in December of 2018. The weather was more than perfect. We definitely got to see a lot from our own crystal cabin. We had reserved seats, and when we checked in at the ticket counter, they asked us if we wanted to attend a tea ceremony, and then go on a guided bus tour to a small fishing village, just down the other side of the mountain …all for free. We gladly said yes, of course. We got to walk around it, then go on a super small boat out into the middle of the sea,and got to watch rare pink dolphins ! Additionally, we also got a coupon to use for a free snack at a local shop , at the same fishing village. Not sure why,but I’m guessing it was a slow day for all attractions , and that’s why they were giving away free stuff🤷🏻♂️
Sounds like you had an amazing day! We wanted to do the extra bits but just didn’t have enough time to add them on, hopefully we get to go back in the future to do it again 🤞
I love that you still made the most of it despite the weather - Asia takes so much pre-planning and you can never tell when locking in dates so far ahead so you have to go with the flow as you did. There’s joy in seeing you all stay so positive and upbeat and finding the funny side of things. Can’t wait for the next chapter in this adventure and thanks again for capturing and sharing all the fun!
We always try our best to make lemonade if we are thrown lemons 😆 it may not have been the perfect day we imagined but we for sure will talk about it for the rest of our lives 😁
Love following your adventures! I’m taking my daughter to HK Disneyland next year and it’s great to watch your vlogs. You’ve inspired me to do a trip into the city too. Been there before but was going to make this a Disney bubble trip. We will branch out a little though I think! Coming from Australia HK is the closest Disneyland we have! Looking forward to more of your journey. We were in Singapore this year, it’s amazing. You will love it. Have fun!
Wow! Loved the giant Buddha and the lights at night looked amazing! Looks like you had an amazing day despite the weather. Big thumbs up. Subbed to your channel 😊👍.
Hi guys! Loved seeing Buddha!!! Such a beautiful & spiritual site!! Funny how you can plan everything, but the weather!😝 You just have to make the best out of the time you have there! Enjoying all of this trip as I know I will never get there💕
Glad you’re enjoying them 😊 We didn’t account for the weather at all but with only have one day for each city we wouldn’t have had much of a choice anyway! Still a fab day and we will never forget it!! 😁
This brought back memories of our visit in 2018.We had 5 day stop.over on the way to Australia..We went to lantau Island and up in the cable car to see the big buddha we were lucky we had a lovely day so got great views, this was in November. We were surprised to see a subway there. Did you not see the cows and dogs wandering around. We were also.lucky when we went up Victoria Peak. You mentioned the big bus, we went on it twice one route around Hong Kong Island which took you out of the city and out to the coast and we also did the second route around kowloon. When we stayed our hotel was in kowloon and we used the mrt all the time with.our octopus card
We saw a few dogs but no cows or buffalo! Sounds like you got great weather! We still had a fab day even though it for sure wasn’t what we envisioned 🤣
Thanks for this vlog, it was my favourite one for the reason that things didn’t go as planned but you still had a great day and were able to laugh about it!!
Hiya 🤗 even though your day didn’t go to plan you still tried some new foods, which you enjoyed and did see some things which you don’t know if you’d see again. It is a shame but it was out of your control. I’m looking forward to your next vlog ♥️ xxx
Absolutely no way! My friend Daniel, just arrived in Shanghai, China yesterday😂. Your guys are my favourite RUclipsrs, so it’s awesome to see! And never fail to make your videos good.
So glad you pointed out that you needed cash to buy the train tickets, my husband and I were just saying the other day that we’re unsure how much cash to get exchanged before we travel. Did you find that you needed cash for many things across Shanghai & Hong Kong? How much cash did you guys take out in each currency?? 😊
We took £100 cash for both Shanghai and Hong Kong and we spent just about that in each city. One tip we would suggest is ask for smaller notes from the currency exchange as bigger notes can be harder to use in the machines
Not gonna lie, at one point I thought you were vlogging a wet July in Leeds precinct 😂 Even with the weather, you all looked like you made the absolute best of your visit. Great to see soooooo good 😁 Oh and who knew that Gaz doesn't always wear pants? 😂
We went to Hong Kong just before it was handed back to China, it’s changed so much, We took the bus up to Victoria Peak and it was horrendous, the journey was very scary partly because the driver was reckless. Did you go to Stanley Market? It’s wonderful city indeed. One of the best views of the island is from Kowloon Harbour, especially at sunset. Is that where you were at the end of your vlog? Thanks for sharing, brought back great memories 🤗🏴
We heard that the journey on the bus can be "eventful" with the roads. We didnt manage to go to Stanley Market, we had so muchon our list but only had a small window unfortunately. At the end of the vlog we were at Avenue of the Stars :)
That was epic and A M A Z I N G !!! If I wanted to see a picture perfect visual of the place, well that's 1 google search away. This was real as real gets. You've got 1 day and that's it. You made the absolute best of it and your sweet boy took his cues from your attitude through it. Brilliant. I sure hope you went back for "6" more of those best ever custard cream doughnuts. They were well earned.
Thank you! It was definitely a memorable day! We always try to have a good attitude even if things don’t go to plan, usually those are the days that end up being the best!!! 😆 We had about ten more of the cream puffs and even more in Japan when we got there!!
I lived in HK in the 90s on Lamma Island, I got married in HK Park. The week before coming home for good, we did all the stuff you did, so this brings back lovely memories.
I'm a regular visitor to Hong Kong and even I occasionally eat at McDonalds there. Although they do have the key items their menu also includes several items unique to Hong Kong. Also, for neurodiverse people places like McDonalds may be all they are able to eat.

Typical Kershaw fail 🤣 We still had an incredible day though and we will talk about being in the clouds forever!
Hey Kershaw Family 👋🏼, will we get to see more of your Asia journey? Especially eager to see the Singapore airport!
We are indeed, I think we are going to put out the recent Florida trip first then resume that series 😊
If you go to the peak at night, the view would be very different.
The fog was that thick I still don’t think we’d have seen much! Bet it’s amazing on a clear night though!

Ngong ping was great weather when we went 😂.. but we were in hong kong for 2 weeks..
We just got unlucky, still had a fab day though!
One day!
You’ll get there
💪😎👍🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰
I couldn't find the discount code
Thanks for the heads up - i've added it to the video description now :) You can use "KERSHAW" or "KERSHAWKLOOK"
The big budda is a tourist attraction built in 90s nothing cultural about it.
It is a cultural attraction still
The Ngong Ping village may be a tourist attraction but the Po Lin Monastery and Tian Tan Buddha are definitely cultural sites.

Aww I’m glad it’s brought back some good memories for you 🥰
What's the point of coming all the way to HK and eat McDonald's... ?? there's 6598 different choices of food you can eat, but McDonald's.. 🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱
We tried one thing off the menu that was different than we get at home while we were waiting for the rain to pass 👍
I'm a regular visitor to Hong Kong and even I occasionally eat at McDonalds there. Although they do have the key items their menu also includes several items unique to Hong Kong. Also, for neurodiverse people places like McDonalds may be all they are able to eat.
