Vick I should have mentioned his most important song that he co wrote and sang with indigenous man Kev Carmody. It tells the story of Vincent Lingiari and the Gurindji peoples fight for land rights, worth listening to. It's called "From Little Things Big Things Grow"
Happy gravy day Vick, what makes Paul Kelly special is his story telling lyrics, christmas from the point of view of a guy in jail. Other songs worth a listen, "Dumb Things" "To Her Door" and the story of the worlds most famous cricketer "Bradman" 21st of December is Gravy Day in Australia.
Happy Gravy Day a song with no chorus, the bloke has a catalogue of 200 odd songs, next song could be "From Little things big things Grow" this was co written by Kevin Carmody and is a song about Australian history.
Ty for sending us this on Gravy Day here in Australia..We were all Joe trapped away from those who we loved and those we missed so much during the period of Lock downs here. We had some of the toughest in the world to endure and this gift from Paul Kelly lifted us up. A perfect song about a man who is in jail missing his family at Christmas..written by Paul for a charity album for the Salvation Army set in his mind like White Christmas someone longing to be home but miles away. This 2021 video from all of his fans world wide really gave this song new life and set the picture of how it felt for us all. Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🦘❤❤🎅🤶🎄🎄🎄🎄
Did you get the recipe for gravy in the song? The ingredients are: flour, tomato sauce, salt , red wine and also meat drippings and vegetable stock. You'll know Aussies by their accents and they live around the world. If you go to an AFL amateur game in America you'll be sure to meet some.
Got it!😂 and yeah, actually I’ve met an Australian family in Disneyland California. They wanted to get gas, but didn’t know how it work, so I helped them. They said they came from Australia to visit Disneyland.
Find in USA a aussie meat pie shop .they are the best then you might find some Australians and you won't be hungry anymore. Yummm slow cooked pepper stak meat pies.❤
To actually make gravy, roast what you are cooking in a tray with high sides. Turn over 1/2 way through the cooking. You will need 2 pot mitts or a thick teatowel and 2 forks for this. Do spuds carrots and whole onlons etc with it if you want. Ask your butcher how long to cook it and at what temperature. Take out the meat and veg, put on a serving platter, cover with foil. Get a fork, loosen all the bits on the bottom of your pan. Pour off most of the fat, the darker liquid under the fat is gravy. Keep that in. Put a fork full of plain flour in the pan and stir in with the fork. Put pan over the heat, stirring until the gravy thickens. Remove from heat. You can add what sounds good to you, along with salt and pepper before you cook it. You may need more or less flour, do you like thick or thin gravy? Up to you. You can roast a chicken, a cut of beef, pork, with crackling, turkey, duck, lamb, whatever you like, add veg and you have a roast dinner. In england they also do a yorkshire pudding to eat with the gravy. If that's all too hard, get some gravy granules or powder, and follow the directions on the can. Tomato sauce is different to your ketchup. Have fun. For easy recipes, look up 4-ingredients with Kim mcCosker. She gives out free recipes on facebook.
Having lived in both countries for many years I have to say that the Americans know how to make gravy!! They make better gravy than anything I’ve had in Australia- especially if you go down to the Southern states!
It was terrible, but hopefully we can take things a little less for granted from now on. That was a great reaction. I think Australians are probably much more likely to visit Canada than the US because of the Commonwealth and probably vice versa.
Thanks Vick great song and video and have a Merry Christmas to you and your family 🎄🎁 I'm going to post a link to a very very special Christmas song that very popular in Australia from Kevin Bloody Wilson the song is Hey Santa ruclips.net/video/af7LwnA913g/видео.htmlsi=_qn7a7LsnotyZl5f

For context of this song it’s better to watch a different version!

I prefer Aussie jingle bells.
You would know if you had met an Australian.
