I can tow up to 6k with a vehicle payload of 1k. I am figuring a CCC of 1,500 if a TT Rv is more than adequate. This fits the bill. And I can lose the king and put in a queen in instead. Since it is just me and my two doggies, this RV type is perfect for the job. My list of what I am looking for: 3.500 min - 4,500 max trailer dry weight Able to fit 1,500 in cargo (anything more is not necessary) Theatre seating over dinette Queen bed Adequate storage for said cargo 21' -25' length 400w solar capability No carpet Dual axle with spare An awning for shade This fits that bill.
I like the idea of more stuff being "prepped". That way I can add those in later if I want to and not have to pay extra now. For a budget, I'd take a larger CCC over fancy add ons any day.
This is a perfect layout for my parents that are swingers! That king size bed will allow them to get down to business without having to pay for a hotel some nights when they travel!
Over all that is a nice one! In the future, if possible, I'd loose the bathroom linen closet and use the extra space to do a rectangular shower and better toilet placement. I would also like to see a dinette option.
You said that this is solar prep so does that mean those wires will need to run? I like this small unit. Having said that there are a few minor changes I would consider like a little more elbow room on the right side of the toilet by changing the angle just a bit. Give me a fan, real full size fan above the bed. Another miss is no hold open struts, really that is not that expensive to include.
Nice small travel trailer. Need more space around the toilet. Let the larger storage, at least you’ll be able to store your zero gravy chairs. Air fryer seems like a nice new option. Not sure how good they work. Wife hasn’t used the one in our house yet. Nice video Josh.
I like it. I think it hits all the important things for me. Power outlets in smart locations. That is a huge plus. I can easily set up a small table for a laptop/workstation at the couch. I can easily power a coffee maker or other appliances on the kitchen counter, by running a surge protector power strip down from the tv outlet. Has an oven. This is full time living ready. Just with it had an exhaust vent in the main living area vent (that could be an issue) and with it had a better fan in the bathroom. Especially since there is no exhaust fan in the other vent.
I was going to buy a big rv but this video made me change my mind I don't need a big RV i just need necessary space and neccessary things this has everything i need and its so small its easy to manage and my truck can easily pull it so thank you for the video :)
grand Design 14ms might change your mind again- I got 5 sec into the video and had to stop- it is perfect ! ruclips.net/video/nhTMsPm2Udc/видео.html Thanks again Josh !
This is really nice .. I still wish it was the double pane windows and it needs solar which should not really be optional on everything from now on. Don’t you think? The only other thing I don’t like is the big gaps on the bathroom door also no big fan. Do you have any suggestions for closing those in a way that doesn’t look stupid? You are 100% correct about the need for struts. Another thing that should be NOT optional anymore. The MSRP on this is $50K!! At that price they need to add the solar and struts. Good grief. 😊
I want! The wife is hell bent on the Lance 2075 and I agree but this being half the price and very similar is awesome. Agree with the other folks that mentioned a full sized queen and bigger nightstands and wardrobes. Get rid of the outside speakers and use the money for better vent fans. The plastic brick wall paneling has to go. Other than that it's a nice camper that checks almost all the boxes. The price is a major selling point 🍻
I just saw a Lance last week end. I was not impressed. They did not seem any better built that many others but the price was way higher. Especially one built like this one.
@@CharmaineSilva777 Agreed when it comes to their other models. Very expensive and not much better than the competition. The 2022 and 2023 years model 2075 took our breath away. I was excited when I first saw this model. Lots of good things but lots of missed as well. I'm 6'8" 350# so bigger than most. The king mattress seems to be just overhanging the queen platform which means no support. As a right-hander, the small bathroom is a no-go after seeing you squeeze in. My search continues...
Oven Air fryer options ❤. I like the simple straight to the point and very bright clean look. Way nicer than those darker colors. Could be more outlets/usb around the couche.
Quite the brilliant design. One change I’d suggest is angling that wasted space for the TV/entertainment and having a swivel mount. You could watch TV from the bed, or living area.
Add solar, a dinette and heavier privacy curtain and it would be a great little couples camper. Not everyone's cup of tea, but that's why they make so many different kinds.
Nice trailer. I would have put a window the same size as the one in the slide and centered it in the galley. Also cargo capacity is awesome, how much stuff can you bring anyway??? ( actually, if there is space, my wife would fill it) But true, does make for a more rigid stronger trailer. Nice job Josh as usual
There is a real answer to the “why here” for a USB port by the command center. There are some “control gadget” accessories that would make sense to mount there that can be connected to USB power, like electronic leveling aids, temperature alarms, and cellular hotspots.
I really like it considering the size. A few points I would change. 1. The bed. Just put a queen in it. 2. The space behind the TV should have a door or something for addl storage. 3. Overhead cabinet struts. 4. Big vent fan in the bathroom. 5. Would love a thankless waterheater.
e own one of these, we bought it back in 2021 and we laughed at the king matress on the queen platform. it hangs over in such a way that it sags, making it hard to get in or out without sliding. We grabbed the electric knife and slid back the cover and sliced it down to a queen size. Problem solved. The bed is also a little high, but worth it for the King King storage capacity. The bathroom is tight, the toilet is girl freindly, but not fluffy man sittable. We have a no pooping in the camper rule anyway, so not a deal breaker. Other than that, we really ike it. It's pretty ideal as a couples camper and when our adult kids, or grandkids come along, the couch actually folds out to a full size bed. With the couch folded out, it gets snug, but that's the edge case and we're glad to have the feature. The big fridge and oven are a plus. The storage is insane compared to other campers we've owned. Packed well, the pickup bed is pretty empty when we travel.
Thanks for this awesome video as always. Now if I had the chance to do this one change, I would definitely shift that camp site bedroom window towards the kitchen and make even wider, in order to stretch the owning to reach the outside storage door, for bigger shady outside picnic area, and bigger camp site windows. #nerdherd
Josh, thanks again for another very informative video and demonstrations. This just might have just made it on my list of small ones to take a look at. Thank you!
Hello Josh. I'm interested in the model you're showing I'm curious to what the retail prices and what North what pictures is offering I'm in Florida so I need to know what would be my best way to get it in my hands on one thank you
Great great little RV. Luv the free standing table Swiss army couch set up. Bathroom size is ridiculous. I’m 5’4 and the elbow room is way too important. Campside windows yes yes yes. Luv the roof being walkable! The solar ready is the only way to go! For the size the water tanks are great. Hot and cold outside hook up is a plus for an economically sensitive camper ❤
Yeah when you start trying to pack big stuff into a small rig something had to give. And in this case it's the bathroom. I know it's an issue for some folks in this RV.
Like the anti corrosion paint applied to the grounding points (near the propane cooker hooker), interesting is has 2 battery disconnects. Other interesting thing I noticed, The unit has a roof vent for a gas/electric fridge on the roof, but the unit has a compressor fridge. The reason I wanted a compressor fridge is no roof vent and no side access panel. Putting the outside shower under the city water connection is not smart, lots of folks use an in line water filter or a 90 on the water line which puts it in front of the access door for the outside shower. Great video.
I like the idea of the shoe garage but if it had a fold down door that would be great. I feel in a small TT if something is out in the open it makes look a bit messy
Highland Ridge 212 look a like I wish for No outside speakers and I swapped out sink cover with a poly cutting board from sams. These are a perfect solo / couples size travel trailer
Love the king bed and shoe garage. I don’t know anything about this brand but they are certainly trying to include a good amount of comfort. Obviously, you don’t get a lot of storage space in such a small space but not bad overall.
We almost bought this model but ultimately decided on a Grand Design Imagine Aim so we could tow with my half ton instead of always using the one ton. Honestly the construction was fairly impressive on these, not GD quality but still nice.
@@JoshtheRVNerd we were leaning heavily toward the 16ML after we decided on GD but after mulling over pros and cons ultimately signed and took delivery on the 15BH after deciding we could remove the bunk and so we didn't have to stress about slide maintenance since we do a lot of dusty desert boondocking trips. It's definitely a departure from the layout of this North Trail or even the Aim 16ML, haha, but we really genuinely loved this little Heartland RV's layout.
I've been wondering about this for some time now, and your comment about right- versus left-handed folks made me decide to mention it. Since the vast majority of us are right-handed, why don't designers make sure to place the toilet such that it will have our right sides next to the shower? Just a thought...
I think this one would be good for trips 2 weeks or less. Can't see if your retired, like us, going for 2, 3, or 4 months. 2 weeks or less I'd consider it. Have a Jesus filled day everyone Greg in Michigan
I like what they did here and really like the wider stance. My biggest concern is I’m right handed😊 I would opt for the queen personally but it’s a good layout. I would have to go to RUclips school for the airfryer😂 Thanks again Josh🤗🤗🤗 oh by the way, does it just have the attachment for the ladder or is ladder included? What’s the point of having a walkable roof if you can’t get up to it🤔 if I missed that part I’m sorry, squirrel 😂 see ya soon😊
I like the floorplan, but it does seem a little short on closet space. But the underbelly storage, is, insanely huge. As always, you did a great job, Josh!😊. Thank you.
Great cargo capacity. As far as I'm concerned having a TV or not is one of those six of one a half dozen of the other. Without the TV I can purchase a unit that is much better than anything the manufacturer will install. I can always replace the existing unit but then what do you do with the old unit? For me the jury is still out on the 12V compressor fridge. Yes it starts to cool down faster but it still took a good 24 hours to come down to temperature and stabilize to where you could open the door and not have a long recovery time (I base this on temp. measurements I took). It also doesn't seem to run any less than the 2-way fridges we had in previous trailers. Our trailer has the Furion which does not have circulation fans and we found food near the back would freeze until we installed some expansion rods to keep a 1 - 2 inch gap. Models that have a fan will probably not have this problem and act more like a residential unit. I was pleasantly surprised that it was fairly quiet and was not obtrusive when we were trying to sleep. On the bathroom linen storage I prefer doors from the aesthetics but we have found that towels stay put in the open cabinets as long as they are fully in the cabinet. We had both rolled and flat folded towels and found as long as they are wide enough the frame keeps them from falling out. This result was unexpected but I won't argue with it. I'd like to see the battery cutoff switch mounted higher.
I have a 2012 North Trail FX17 and looking for a newer one. I prefer the layout of mine just wish it had a slide like this one. I feel the refrigerator on this one is in a really inconvenient place right in front of the entry door and the TV placement seems a bit difficult as well.
All in all it is not bag nice tanks, draws in the kitchen, bed is ok, nice size to tow, as long as the solar can power a few things all good but the bathroom door need to go to the top and bottom. 9 out of 10
I like the under 25' length with a king and no dinette. They need to rethink the tv placement and give an option for a theater or reclining loveseat instead of the couch thing there now. I'd figure out a way to run 16" wheels so that LT tires are an option.
I have the mallard m210rb. I’m not a huge person and neither is my husband so the toilet placement no big deal. There is also storage area under the mattress above the shoe thing. Probably the only thing I would change would be put reclining seats in the slide out. That little couch really isn’t comfortable for old folks. And soooo many sites we can get in where a bigger trailer we couldn’t We like it
Solar prepped, but not onboard. So, the DC fridge will drain the batteries, microwave is not usable and am i correct in assuming the air fryer oven is unusable as well unless plugged into shore power? So definitely not a great boondocker as is? Also, i would prefer a standard opposed dinnette. Otherwise, i really liked this design.
I really do like this floor plan. As a Ford Ranger owner is slightly out of my league however. I would keep it a queen and I wish the couch was wider but obviously the slide would need to be whiter. Also what would be cool is instead of having the pull out ottoman footrest have that somehow be like one of those coffee tables that lips up and that would be your dinofa. Or just give me a bar top style seating in a couple camper
Hello someone already said this and think hes right, Perfect layout, but if they made this with a murphy bed. i would go with that considering the size of the camper.
This is the first of your videos I’ve watched on a North Trail. I’m impressed with it but did like Heartland’s Big Horn back in my 5th wheel days. I’m a Rockstaff fan but this might be a lower cost alternative. I kind of like it not having everything to reduce the cost. For example my 2021 has a TV…I’ve never watched it. It’s only there for resale at this point. Keep up the good work.
This is similar to the Jayco 166FBS which I like better but I love the dinofa do it all and the air fryer oven better! Great video! Supporter from San Diego, CA here!
Is it possible to have the bed swapped out for a Murphy bed. It seems that it will add more interior storage as well as more guests would be able to be in the trailer.
It's just not something they offer as it turns out. I was in an Ibex recently that does something like that -- the 19MSB The 20MDS Ibex is also quite similar
Your videos are always very informative. I have a RZR that I like to take with me on trips and this is a perfect size for my needs. One thing I would like to know is if this unit is set up and capable of pulling my 16' RZR trailer? It would be great if you could add this information to your reviews.
You cannot pull a trailer behind a trailer in 48 states. As a result travel trailers do not have factory doubles towing hitches Many states allow you ti double tow behind a fifth wheel but it varies
good man cave for the single bachelor who might be... popular with the ladies shall we say.... not me but some guys.... excellent setup for that kind of dude for sure hehe.... a king bed is very nice on those rainy days, they do make a great lounge to watch a movie if you have tv trays and dont make a mess. i used a king bed in corner with pillows around for my living room couch once.
If I had to change anything it would be swapping the kitchen and the theater seating. The camp side needs big windows - I don't think many folks like to see the sewer/water side while watching TV... #NerdHerd
I'm thinking. A couple of feel longer interior wise. Move the fridge next to the slide and make it a rear bathroom. As far as counter top prep space, make a bi folding prep extension like a ninety degree from the sink and by being a little longer cabin space. Widen the TV placement for a little bit bigger TV. I do agree with one of the commenters. The king size bed is kind of laughable for the size of trailer. A true queen with a bit bigger wardrobe space would be better and to justify the extra weight do to a slightly longer length, beef up the axels a bit to keep that 3,000 lb. cargo capacity. Oh. Dump the microwave and put a large 6 slice toaster oven in its place. I find more use for a toaster oven than a food rubberizer/ microwave. Then I think that they may have something there. 🤔 A side thought. If it's such a big question if slides can handle occupant weight while closed. Why don't the factory test them to see if they can handle the weight? 🤔
I really really like this one. Would you void the warranty if you went out to Home Depot and got one of those clear electrical box covers that you put in the backyard over your outlet to keep rain and garden hose spray out of and fashioned it to the wall to cover the battery disconnect
Newsflash!!! Those of us that dry camp hate that 12 volt only fridge. Not sure how long it will run on a 100 Ah battery but imagine a cold night in the mountains and the heater is kicking on and that fridge is draining your battery and you wake up with dead batteries. Maybe giving it a dedicated lithium battery would work? I guess I will just pay the absurd price for my gas/electric fridge.
Nice "Dragnet Trailer": Just the facts, no fluff. Love the storage and cargo capacity. The half-ton towablity is a real plus the tandem-axle stance makes this lightweight a great option, especially for first-timers. I hate to say it because I like the big beds, but the king may be overkill on this one, perhaps even better served with a Murphy Queen to open up the daytime space. The convertable sofa bed is a head-scracther of a design, kinda weird, but I give them accolades for trying something different. The recommendation of an additional window on the kitchen side would be nice indeed and while I am yelling at clouds lets also eliminate the peek-a-poo door on the lavatory unless you enjoy endless games of "Guess My Cuisine" on rainy days. Wow, I really am a grumpy old boomer 😂😂
It's beautiful. But To be honest. I would have thought that the kitchen should be on the sliding side and the dining or theatre seats should be on the other side. So you don't worry about sitting on the slide itself. And the kitchen can be used in or out for more room. That's what I would like to see.
Thank you Josh for this review. Your videos are always informative and fun. I love this floor plan. The only thing I wish they would offer is the option of a true queen bed (easier to change fitted sheets) so that closet space could be wider. It would be nice to have a sink cover as a standard feature. Question: Are power stabilizer available? Thanks again😊
I very much appreciate seeing it with the slide closed! Thank you for that insight.
You bet
Yes. Love the "Road Mode" . Very important to know what you can and can't do while traveling.
I’ll keep doing it!
My list of what I am looking for:
3.500 min - 4,500 max trailer dry weight
Able to fit 1,500 in cargo (anything more is not necessary)
Theatre seating over dinette
Queen bed
Adequate storage for said cargo
21' -25' length
400w solar capability
No carpet
Dual axle with spare
An awning for shade

I like the idea of more stuff being "prepped". That way I can add those in later if I want to and not have to pay extra now. For a budget, I'd take a larger CCC over fancy add ons any day.

I really don't disagree. If you're going to chose one or the other.. then why not the big majority?
Like the king bed in a small trailer that is reasonably priced. Thanks, Josh!
👍🏻
love the air fryer oven!
I think it’s pretty smart
I think this one would be good for trips 2 weeks or less. Can't see if your retired, like us, going for 2, 3, or 4 months.
2 weeks or less I'd consider it.
Have a Jesus filled day everyone

👍🏻
Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
We looked at this model and compared it to the Rockwood 2109S, it has some nice features although we prefer the Rockwood!
I really like that one especially the bed size. Have you done a video on the North trail 22crb? Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
The C-R-B?
Yeah You Know Me! ruclips.net/video/TTRSMrr4F0Y/видео.html
Nice unit! Not looking to upgrade but if I was this would be a strong contender.
Thx Amy
I really like this RV , the space under the bed doesn't bother me at all. Thanks Nerd
Ty!
I love this model and no Murphy Bed is a bonus for me.
They really did a solid job here I think!
nice improvements!!!
Thanks Josh!!
You ROCK!!!
Thanks again!
I have a 2012 North Trail FX17 and looking for a newer one. I prefer the layout of mine just wish it had a slide like this one. I feel the refrigerator on this one is in a really inconvenient place right in front of the entry door and the TV placement seems a bit difficult as well.
Try this m.ruclips.net/video/TTRSMrr4F0Y/видео.html
All in all it is not bag nice tanks, draws in the kitchen, bed is ok, nice size to tow, as long as the solar can power a few things all good but the bathroom door need to go to the top and bottom. 9 out of 10
Not bad!
I like the under 25' length with a king and no dinette. They need to rethink the tv placement and give an option for a theater or reclining loveseat instead of the couch thing there now. I'd figure out a way to run 16" wheels so that LT tires are an option.
Thank you for watching!
VERY similar to our Heartland Mallard 210RB. BUT I like that they allow more head room around bed on this one!
Mallard is actually based on north trails. Same build. Just slight tweaks
And soooo many sites we can get in where a bigger trailer we couldn’t We like it
I am a fan of smaller rigs myself for that maneuverability factor
Love the decor
Solar prepped, but not onboard. So, the DC fridge will drain the batteries, microwave is not usable and am i correct in assuming the air fryer oven is unusable as well unless plugged into shore power?
So definitely not a great boondocker as is?
Also, i would prefer a standard opposed dinnette.
Otherwise, i really liked this design.
Not a great Boondocker, as is no. I don’t think he’s a really made that specifically in mind.
Ok, seeing that model from that first angle, the first thing I thought was "stumpy!".
I like the unconventional air fryer in the kitchen.
I think those air fryers will catch on
I love the king bed, but tv placement could be better. Love this camper. Great size for 2.
Ty
I really do like this floor plan. As a Ford Ranger owner is slightly out of my league however. I would keep it a queen and I wish the couch was wider but obviously the slide would need to be whiter. Also what would be cool is instead of having the pull out ottoman footrest have that somehow be like one of those coffee tables that lips up and that would be your dinofa. Or just give me a bar top style seating in a couple camper
I really want to see that bar style seating in more RVs
We have the mallard 210 RB and it is identical to this model . We love the King bed feature
Yeah, Mallard is actually a clone/sister based off of North Trail
A longer window stretching from the bedroom to below the TV mounting space would be nice.
I like that idea
That open storage could be easily fixed with some baskets. Not an issue for me.
👍🏻 ty
I would love to see them doing A combo microwave/air fryer/convection oven and a 2burner induction stove top
Hello someone already said this and think hes right, Perfect layout, but if they made this with a murphy bed. i would go with that considering the size of the camper.
👍🏻
That looks like a great weekender.
It is!
Yeah, pound for pound, they bring a lot of big features to a smaller size RV
Never gonna compromise on a tiny shower again. King bed, tiny shower 🤷
This is similar to the Jayco 166FBS which I like better but I love the dinofa do it all and the air fryer oven better! Great video! Supporter from San Diego, CA here!
Yeah just a bit bigger
Wouldn't it make sense to have a murphy bed in this model? And have two seating areas?
A few builders have tried it but weirdly it rarely proves to be successful.. which I don't fully understand
Love the cargo capacity
Is it possible to have the bed swapped out for a Murphy bed. It seems that it will add more interior storage as well as more guests would be able to be in the trailer.
It's just not something they offer as it turns out. I was in an Ibex recently that does something like that -- the 19MSB
The 20MDS Ibex is also quite similar
Is there a Colman Cedar near by missing its crank jack?
Your videos are always very informative. I have a RZR that I like to take with me on trips and this is a perfect size for my needs. One thing I would like to know is if this unit is set up and capable of pulling my 16' RZR trailer? It would be great if you could add this information to your reviews.
You cannot pull a trailer behind a trailer in 48 states. As a result travel trailers do not have factory doubles towing hitches
Many states allow you ti double tow behind a fifth wheel but it varies
Thanks for the reply Josh. I guess that's why I've never seen that setup going down the road.@@JoshtheRVNerd
good man cave for the single bachelor who might be... popular with the ladies shall we say.... not me but some guys.... excellent setup for that kind of dude for sure hehe.... a king bed is very nice on those rainy days, they do make a great lounge to watch a movie if you have tv trays and dont make a mess. i used a king bed in corner with pillows around for my living room couch once.
I could see that for sure
Love this RV!!!
Awesome!
A side thought. If it's such a big question if slides can handle occupant weight while closed. Why don't the factory test them to see if they can handle the weight? 🤔
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I really really like this one. Would you void the warranty if you went out to Home Depot and got one of those clear electrical box covers that you put in the backyard over your outlet to keep rain and garden hose spray out of and fashioned it to the wall to cover the battery disconnect
MFGs just don't cover work they don't do.
I guess I will just pay the absurd price for my gas/electric fridge.
i plan on getting this trailer very soon. gonna pull it with a 22' expedition max
That’s a sharp Travel Trailer!
Could alway put a a small shelf with key hooks under it where that USB port by the control panel
No I get it. The bed is REALLT bossy but also.. that space is nice at night
Power stabs available last I knew
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thanks!
Should just put in a queen mattress and be done. Open shelf above where the tv goes
Love the little stories
Ty!
