Notice Blanco's performance as opposed to Beckham. Blanco created more opportunities and scored a great goal. He was a better purchase for Chicago Fire than Beckham was for the Galaxy.
GREAT GAME, I WANTED TO SCREAM SO LOUD WHEN BLANCO SCORED THAT. and the teamwork was amazing, I also wanted beckham to score, and that shot he has that curved from left to right, and almost hit the people. NICE
Blanco is a great player and Mexico is a great team. Blanco should have been playing for Mexico in the last world cup. In that World Cup Mexico played a great game against Argentina but Argentina won 2-1 after an amazing goal. I'm sure Mexico will be in with a fighting chance in 2010... hopefully the USA also :-)
Man what a game for the MLS All Stars, I never expected that my fav player in the MLS would be there and win the MVP, wow that is a big lift for mi mexico country that leaves a message 2 the mls that mexico plays good soccer, I am from LA, but when Chicago come 2 town, I go for them and I hope 2 see them win this years MLS Cup, Blanco goal was the greatest and it would be nominated again, remembering that he made the best goal of the year 07. VIVA MEXICO, Go Blanco, Go Chicago Fire, Chivas USA.
I saw the game and I think Beckham played a great game even though he didn't noticed too much he helped a lot the team and Cuau that was the best in the field hands down but I think Beckham really played well to. Greetings to the MLS and the USA. VIVA MEXICO :)
Well done to the MLS All Stars! They deserved to beat West Ham. I still don't know how Blanco manages to get open (what is he, 55 years old?!) but man, what a touch! His back heel to set up a goal and then the beautiful finish of his own...and I don't even like the guy! Kenny Cooper has always been class. He's the only player worth watching on FC Dallas, in my opinion (maybe Arturo as well). Anyway, well done boys, way to make the US proud!
i am a west ham supporter(English) and all i wan tto say is that good video but also the all stars are they like all the best players from the league or just a team? and that west ham did well so di allstars good game
I thought it was well played and entertaining game. And I think the strides that MLS has made in it's short 13 years is amazing. Grant it it's not up to EPL or other leagues around the world yet but give it time and it will be there one day. Whats really exciting is the quality of American players coming up in MLS and a perfect example is all the MLS American players going overseas to play like Altidore, Guzan, Adu and others so the future is bright for MLS my friends!!
Yes, it was an All Star team with some good players on it. However you have to remember that the All Star team have never played together before and only assembled a few days before the match, whereas the West Ham players knew each other inside and out for the most part which is a big avantage for West Ham.
We realise that West Ham are in pre-season but you also have to realise that the MLS All Starts do not play together. They assembled a few days before this match and it was their first time playing together. Therefore, in terms of cohesion, West Ham went in to the game with a big advantage.
What do you mean about proper stadiums? Most stadiums for MLS teams are designed for soccer. Although they are rather small since it's not as of a big sport as American football.
West Ham grant it was in their preseason but they had been in the states for longer than a couple of days in fact they played in Columbus the Sunday before. And also the MLS all stars only practiced a couple of hours the day before with one another and Dero who scored the winning PK actually got to Toronto that morning from DC so both teams were at a disadvantage but it was still a very entertaining game.
I agree with you. If we really want to prove something, we need to invite a team like Manchester United. Maybe a good team like that would actually motivate us to send our real "stars". We had some in this game but not all. Where's Ruiz, Emilio, Moreno, Gallardo, Olsen, and others? It's been a while since MLS actually used the real best players for an all star team. I'd love to see those type of players vs Man-U with both sides actually trying their hardest.
LSUNatlChamps! we had Joe Widdowson (never played a prem game in his life) vs david beckham (hundred england caps and hundreds of prem, la liga games) and Joe still held his own. We had a mix of our 1st team and youth team. That was the best team your league!!! could pick and u still only won by a penalty. Carry on playing GridIron and leave the real football to us!
I'm a West Ham fan and I've seen us play truly terribly, but we put out a really convincing performance in this game, considering Celtic got their arses handed to them and Chelsea didn't do too well. Again you have to remember that these are the best players from an entire league! Premiership All-Stars vs MLS All-Stars, that would be hilarious.
I think that's pretty good considering the All-Stars only had 1 practice session with each other and West Ham has been playing with each other for a whole year.
If you wanted to watch an all American team watch the USA MNT not MLS all stars. Player hit his foot not the ball, whether he dived or not it's still a PK.
Oh by the way bigchivin Dero scored the winning goal a couple of years ago in the All Star game agaisnt Chelsea! It was a 1-0 final than. I'm not saying MLS is better than this league our that I'm just saying MLS in its short 13 years has made great strides and are continuing to get better every year and growing and thats great for us soccer fans in the US!!
@PhantomPanda1992 considering how soccer is largely a team sport, the team is much more important than the individuals. Since All Stars do not practice together nearly as often as an actual Premiere team, the Premiere team actually has a huge advantage. To put it in another way, a normal MLS team would have an advantage over the MLS all stars. Team chemistry and tactics is absolutely crucial.
Fully agree. To those in Europe, please be kind. We're working on establishing a long-lasting football league. The NASL failed. We don't want the MLS to fail. We are getting better. The league is only in its 14th season. Give us 5 - 10 more years. In Canada we have more kids in soccer (football) than in hockey. Go figure. Watch out for the US at WC 2010. They're getting good. Soccer is growing in the New World.
@SuperTastik But don't forget that West Ham are a "team" and the MLS All Stars are not a team. They don't play together and were only assembled a few days before the match...a big advantage for West Ham even if they are only in pre-season.
the hammers didnt have a strong side out bout i think that MLS is so under rated, deserves alot of credit because it look like a very exciting and competitive league UP THE FULHAM !!
keep in mind that the mls all star team only had a couple days of training together. that and the fact that there are many players who didn't play who could have. there is a wealth of talent in the mls. europeans simply put the blinders on; they refuse to believe that football/soccer is played at a decent level on this continent.
I understand the US is a pretty big country and being based in say, Seattle, and having to play in Ohio, New York or Florida might make costs quite high. So in a way I can see the point of the Conference thing. That said however, conferences severely hinder progress in the league. Once MLS has better foundations, I'd consider dumping conferences, and I'd form a second division. That and youth academies, and with time, the MLS would become a force to be reckoned with. Greetings from COL.
I'd Like To See The English Premier League All Stars Play Against Them. West Ham Did Well Considering They Were Playing Against The Best Players Chosen From A Whole League.
nelo87, I don't know if the Argetinian league is the best in the world.. but the league is not even at all, I rarely miss the sunday games and I can tell you that not any team can win the league. Its usually River, Boca, Independiente, San Lorenzo.
@Kingofjune90 Right. The same Man U that lost to Kansas City a few days before. But wait......isn't Kansas City an MLS team? And MLS teams have beaten European teams in the past. (Such as DC United beating AC Milan a few years back, and NY Red Bulls beating Man City earlier this year as well). There are plenty of leagues worse than the MLS.
MLS and USL soccer transfers to Europe: 2007 - 2009: kenny cooper, jozy altidore, maurice edu, et al. notable cdns in europe: stalteri, mckenna, and friend (bundesliga) and simeon jackson (gillingham). there are at least two dozen top flight US players in Europe: davies (get well soon), bocanegra, tim howard, braz guzan, clint dempsey, john spector. on top of that the Austin Aztex (USL) recently defeated Accrington Stanley (League Two) and Stoke City youth squad. (on tour in England)
As and Englishman whom has lived in the USA and has much love for MLS as anyone I have to say any fan of MLS who thinks this was a great win is crazy. I hate West Ham, but to be fair they werent playing Hammers footy, it was an exhibition game for them. The thing which bothers me about all these Pro MLS posts is the focus on non USA stars and how great they are. MLS shouldnt be built on old foreigners expoliting it...you should be proud of your home grown talent making it in MLS and Europe.
I realize some of those players have been injured. I just put in Ruiz so it wouldn't be all United players basically. I'll admit the bias. Ruiz is good though but he's been injured a lot. However, if Olsen is healthy, he can be a great individual talent. Last I checked, Olsen was getting healthier. As for Gallardo, I really think he would be great on an all star team as well. He's scored some goals of the week this year that are better than the goal Blanco got in this game.
An interesting point is that the Australians and the New Zealanders call this sport either or both soccer and football maybe because of the Australian Football League (AFL) being immensely popular in Australia and also popular in New Zealand and also because of the rugby football being quite popular in both Australia and New Zealand.
im actually canadian....which probably explains why im not claiming something of mine is the best in the world lol. you should check out the support my club toronto fc gets. people from england say it rivals the support your teams get there...not the on field play of course...but atmosphere at the stadium.
So what? MLS All Stars don't play together. They only assembled a few days before the match. This match was the first time they even played together....therefore West Ham hada huge the advantage in terms of cohesion.
you´re wrong, first of all you are talking about a friendly game, independiente is preparing to play sudamericana and it wasnt the full team, and you are talking about a league thats was name the third in the world behind england and spanish, and if argentine football is too slow why europe continue stealing us players
@SuperTastik can't say its usa's best when about 80% of the mls players on that all star team are from other countries...most of those players on that team wouldn't play for team usa if it was international play.

Take a look at the Concacaf Champions, only one team MLS team moved on to the quarterfinals. All four Mexican teams got there as leaders of their groups.
I would love to see All Stars vs Man Utd and I think the guys at the MLS offices would love that too. Could you imagine the tv ratings good god it would be great for our league here. And also expose Man Utd to the casual North American fan..
This game was for entertainment only. What can you take from it? Nothing really. It was a fun game to watch for the most part, with a few nice goals. It was better than I thought it would be. Actually pretty hard fought between even teams. Blanco was great.
Heck the NHL played a preseason game in London and the NFL played preseason games in London and the US American basketball team just played a friendly with Canada yesterday and smacked them 120 to 65 so please again we understand the whole preseason thing
people have got ot remember this is a mid-table EPL team versus all the best players from MLS. Get a EPL all star team and we will give you a damn good seeing too
@SuperTastik than how come england couldn't beat usa in the world cup, the mls all stars are not usa's best anyway because angel gomez beckham blanco brennan and de rosario just to name a few are not american
Excuses, excuses! MLS weren't full strength either. They were missing 3 players who made the starting 11 but were on Olympic duty (Parkhurst, Rogers, Kjlestian).

Beckham won titles tho.
Cuauhtemoc is amazing!!!
freaking cuahtemoc blanco stole the show, he might not be fast but he is a hell of a soccer player... hell of an entertainer...
BLANCO is awesome, with his age playing like this. Increidible
Its great to see Beckham, and Blanco working together; They are two of the best.
GREAT GAME, I WANTED TO SCREAM SO LOUD WHEN BLANCO SCORED THAT. and the teamwork was amazing, I also wanted beckham to score, and that shot he has that curved from left to right, and almost hit the people. NICE
Wholesome
Great goal Cuauhtemoc!!

MLS played Chelsea in the 2006 All-Star game and they won it 1-0.
Good game, i would like to see how the Allstars do against a fully fit team, just to see how far Football has come in USA,Blanco looks good.
I saw the game and I think Beckham played a great game even though he didn't noticed too much he helped a lot the team and Cuau that was the best in the field hands down but I think Beckham really played well to. Greetings to the MLS and the USA. VIVA MEXICO :)

blancoooooO! what a sick goal!!
ashtons was cool too but gosh
i am a west ham supporter(English) and all i wan tto say is that good video but also the all stars are they like all the best players from the league or just a team? and that west ham did well so di allstars good game
Yeah, Blanco MVP!! He's still a good player despite his age
that looked like a tight game.
thanks for the upload!
blanco's goal was nasty!
does mls play offsides?
nice highlights, good editing, thanks for sharing, cheers
f*ckin' Blanco, he was SO f*cking BRILLIANT! Greets from Estonia!
Great goal by Blanco at 1:47!
Pinche Cuauhtémoc por que te fuiste cabron? te extranhamos un chingo no mames. eres chingon y aqui se lo demuestras a todos.
I thought it was well played and entertaining game. And I think the strides that MLS has made in it's short 13 years is amazing. But it's the MLS, there leauge is like number 89 in the World or something like that I don't know. But the MEXICAN shined in this game. MVP homie.
blanco man of the game
blanco... best player of the game!
Que golazo del Cuauh
De Resario penalty was awesome
nice pass by blanco !
ese cuau viejito y jorobado sigue dando buen futbol blanco the best....
that was an awesome penalty goal
I find I actually like the american commentary better than english commentary. Strange. How often do these friendly games get played?
Yes, it was an All Star team with some good players on it. However you have to remember that the All Star team have never played together before and only assembled a few days before the match, whereas the West Ham players knew each other inside and out for the most part which is a big avantage for West Ham.

Blanco = Futbol(soccer) art!!!
bravo!!!

Blanco kicked asses in that league ; ).
Isn't Beckham on the English national team? If so and he's that bad what does that say about Englands national team?
You do know that this MLS All-Star Game was hosted in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, not in USA.
@cattleyarockz It's to promote the game in the States. Nobody ever said the MLS could stand to the EPL.
@Chubs760 Mexico's and USA's group stage is going 2b easy!! I'm guessing another final?
why was donovan benched?!!
what does that have to do with anything?
honestly im an amrerican and i enjoy watching the EPL more then MLS imo. i only watch the MLS to see the new cleats

lets try mls all-stars vs man utd.. Beckham against utd? Damn..
Blanco the best one there 🇲🇽😎
@TDL4D South Africa and most of asia call it Soccer as well. I don't see anyone yelling at them.
I was there. 14 years old. Such a good game.
Blanco is the man !
I think that's pretty good considering the All-Stars only had 1 practice session with each other and West Ham has been playing with each other for a whole year.

@SuperTastik its also players who have a single week to work together. some of them even having matches that week
@SuperTastik But don't forget that West Ham are a "team" and the MLS All Stars are not a team. They don't play together and were only assembled a few days before the match...a big advantage for West Ham even if they are only in pre-season.
Great all star game. Blanco is a freaking stud. He's an old man, but still got it upstairs.
the hammers didnt have a strong side out bout i think that MLS is so under rated, deserves alot of credit because it look like a very exciting and competitive league UP THE FULHAM !!

I wish Blanco would have stayed in Chicago. It made the MLS way more interesting.

@TDL4D Our sport is called "Football" because it was adapted from Rugby Football in 1901. Once again, It all goes back to the English.
Agree big time! There's only 1 or 2 decent ones covering the MLS...these weren't them.
As and Englishman whom has lived in the USA and has much love for MLS as anyone I have to say any fan of MLS who thinks this was a great win is crazy. BNR for life.
it would be cool to see the mls all starz vs the mexican league all starz:
goalie: paco memo ochoa
defenders: paulo da silva, magallon, castillo, bonet
midfielders: torrado, romagnoli, ludueña, damian alvarez
forwards: cabañas, benitez
@CobainStJohns but why name a sport football when you only touch the ball with the foot about 10 times a game? thats just dumb
Deano had a great game
And boa morte has a surprisingly good game
i wish they do mls all stars vs man utd or milan next year 4 some real competition
Premiership All-Stars would probably only consists of the players from the "Big 4" anyway.
They spend more money then the entire MLS combined. West Ham spends a large amount of money too compared to MLS teams.

they should play Man U or Milan next year or even better Real Madrid! :D or some German team like Bayern :) now that would be nice to watch!

Excuses, excuses!
MLS weren't full strength either. They were missing 3 players who made the starting 11 but were on Olympic duty (Parkhurst, Rogers, Kjlestian).
very well said, i also that think that as soon as the united players realized that the american ones weren't all flops they were deeply surprised as well as disencouraged. they should've played better, they're stronger than the mls all stars.
