The moment he removed the radiator cap. Nice job sir. Such a natural review on how to work in cars. Enjoyed it.

Very helpful. Thanks. My passenger side fan blade broke away from the front of the motor. The metal portion is still attached.

This can be done without removing the housing assembly from the car. Just loosen it, lean it and remove the fan (8mm) and then remove the motor screws. That's how I did mine.

Not bad. I would have tested that new motor before turning a nut.

I bought the whole assembly for $70. Only one motor is bad but I figured getting the whole thing would be best. How much is just the motor that you got? Excellent video thanks for sharing

Dang, it's been so long I don't remember. Sounds like you got a deal for $70!

Is there ever a reason for only one radiator fan running? My driver's side cuts on, but the passenger side does not... I haven't had time to check voltage but thought I'd ask

2002 Camry 4 cyl, 140k miles, car is not overheating and there is no check engine light. Main issues: 1) Car won't restart after running for while when i stop the engine and try to turn it back on, it struggle to start. When i let it cool down for about 10 min and then try, it starts fine. I got the new ECT sensor from autozone 3 prong as this 02 camry has 3 prong wiring for ECT sensor. Existing and new one from auto zone has rubber O ring and not metal, does this matter?. Replaced the sensor and still same issue 2) passenger side fan won't turn on when ac is on and even if car reaches 216°f. No overheating sign and ac works fine and no code. When i just crank the engine to on position, only driver side fan is running and continue to run when i start the engine. I disconnect the wire from the ECT sensor and car still runs, It also starts fine from off position while the ECT wire is disconnected from the sensor. Any suggestion?

Wonderful video. thank you. My passenger side fan doesn't work. The driver's side one is fine. is there some sort of different motor for the passenger side fan? Thank you for the video

Did you ever get a reply? My passenger side fan doesn't work either. I was wondering the same thing. Also I've notice that replacing the whole fan frame set with motors and blade is not that much more than purchasing one motor. I'll probably replace the whole thing.

    • @newmind1

I'm just replacing the whole thing myself. Make sure you you check your relay fuse first for fan 2 first. Most likely your fan is shot. but if it's just the $12 fuse then that would save you a ton of work.

Thanks. I've tested both motors with a jumper box. The driver side runs fine but the passenger side didn't budge so I'm sure it's the motor.

@@poldariser8686 did you ever change the passenger motor. Mine's doing the same thing and ac blowing lukewarm.

This might be a dumb question but do these fans only come on when you turn the AC on? Or are they always supposed to be on so your car doesn't overheat?

The fans turn on periodically to pass air over the radiator so as to keep the radiator fluid cool enough to cool the engine.

How did you diagnose to determine that the fan motor was the problem?

    • @MuddyDrivewayProductions

You can apply 12Volts to it.

@@MuddyDrivewayProductions sorry if it’s a dumb question, but how did you apply 12 volts to it? Wires from the battery directly to the plug of the second fan? The one that comes on with the ac?

    • @MuddyDrivewayProductions
      @MuddyDrivewayProductions  2 года назад

@@aramirez15942 Sorry for the late reply. Not a dumb question at all. Yup, wires from the battery to the motor.

I noticed your radiator fluid was yellow which is the wrong color for Toyota! Should be red/pink!

Would've been better to just disconnect that top hose without draining. Not much fluid would've came out.
